Yeah you can reach it through the head light but it sure is a tight fit. If you are only changing the cable, you do that from the bottom at the wheel. BOO

I have one laying around here somewhere but I haven't seen it for a while. I will look for it in case you don't find one. BOO

Here is a Antique Snowmobile club I belong to. Might be able to find something on the links page. http://www.ascoa.org/ascoa/node/1 BOO

Well I saw the "paw" marks also but that's not what my bases for the comment were. It just looked like something real pointed tried to penetrate the tire. (to me). But your tire on the other hand are really nasty, I have some tires on my BSA that are probably 5 to 6 years old and I'm not sure they look that bad. I won't run the Avon tires because when I was young (moons ago) the group I hung around with thought theAvon'ss were junk so I guess that got embeddedd in my mind so it's only Dunlops for me. Another little comment here, those age cracks don't bother me to much I usually will run a tire for quite a while without concern. But that's me. BOO

I've been kind of reading this thread off and on. I was on my way home today in my truck and came up on a guy on a bike. I was doing 55 but the closing rate was real fast. This guy was an accident looking for some place to happen. Wind is a little gusty and he was riding speeds of 60mph down to 40 and all over the road. I would guess the wind at around 25 to 30 mph but this was obviously a new rider on a new bike with new leathers and a new helmet. Although it was hard to do I tried to maintain 6 to 8 car links from him but it was hard to do. Hope he makes it where ever he's headed. Just talking about the other side of the coin, BOO

Dan I'd be one of the last to defend the Avon tires but it almost looks like you might have run over something. Worth a try to get it replaced under warrenty. Good Luck, BOO

Not sure what the dealer could have done. There's really no adjustment on the Carb for making it leaner or richer. From other post on this forum the backfire condition could be coming from the Carbs not be Sync'd properly or an exhaust leak or ? Some say to disconnect the so called pollution device but you shouldn't have to do that if the bike is right. Do some searching on this forum and I think you will find numerous posts about this condition. BOO

I wanted to comment on this post but I just couldn't think of anything nice to say so I'll just keep my big trap shut..... BOO

:Im not listening to:Im not listening to I've actually been thinking about buying a trailor but not to carry the bike, to tow behind it...... Here's the only reason I would tow my bike.... BOO

Is it time for Seafoam?
BOO replied to M61A1MECH's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Float stuck? Some kind of debris in the float needle/seat. Sea Foam is a good place to start but you'll probably have to take the Carb apart and clean/unstick whatever is causing the problem. BOO -
I have to agree with Goose and he probably don't care if I do or don't. I gotta lay my money with Goose, I'll bet the floats are not right. Like I said before I hope whatever the dealer did cures your problem. I don't think you mentioned what kind of gas mileage you are getting? Good Luck, BOO

Another reason not to be trailoring your bike!!!! Boo

Sounds like you have a different issue with the PCW clutch kit then I did. If I am reading and understanding correctly, your engage point is very near the handlebar grip? Mine on the other hand was engaging at the very end of the travel. Sounds like we may not be getting this thing installed correctly. As far as the spring is concerned, it sure looks the same but it's much stronger than the original one. I have felt of several clutches on newer bikes and they are very soft compared to the one PCW furnishes. I would say the PCW is more like the Vmax clutch spring. BOO
-
Since this thread came back to the top I will update what I did to my clutch. I ended up ordering new fiber disc and steel disc (probably not needed) and replaced the whole thing. I put the half disc back in along with the wire but I put a Vmax spring in instead of the standard spring. Probably have 3 or 4,000 miles on the bike since the install. Very happy with the results, friction point back where it should be and the clutch feel nice and solid. So far so good. BOO

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. You trying to get me into trouble, I can do that all by myself..... Poor woman hell, how about me????????????? I am, Jane just robbed the craddle....Nice seeing you guys at Asheville this year. Congrats to you also, so far we are good to go as they say. Dan you sure know how to make a guy feel old....18 months eh? Thanks. Thanks Richard and say hi to Patsy for us. Damn good average I'd say.... Of course I have to agree..... I ain't no dummy. Well I think she is taking me out to some place, at least she made the reservations but since we have to do everything equally I'll probably have to pay. Again thanks to everyone, BOO

I've been riding the Ventures for several years, I'm 65 and about 210 at the moment. I've been riding since I was about 12 or so. The RSV is not a problem, you just have to pay attention to what you are doing and you'll do fine. BOO

Took Annie for a little ride today before I hand her off to Mike on Tuesday. We went with the Antique Motorcycle Club I belong to, http://www.macmc.org/index.html to a Fly in at Popular Grove Airport. I apologize in advance for the quality of the web site.... We actually pay for that too. Anyway here are some pictures. BOO

Dang Mike I didn't see the post until just now. Probably couldn't have made it anyway. You were pretty close to me though. I was thinking if the weather is good I might ride over your way on Sunday morning, maybe we could meet someplace in between. I need to be back for a picnic just after noon but there's a chance I may be working anyway and I won't know until sometime Saturday afternoon. At the very least I will come out that way on Tuesday and meet you somewhere. I'm suppose to be retired but can't pass up a fast Buck....... My number is also good in the profile. BOO
