I agree with Mike, the High Pressure wash will take it off but it is basically junk. If you are looking over the top of it it won't matter anyway I guess. BOO

I am planning on coming to Asheville and I really enjoy that area. So far this spring we have 2 to 3 things going on about every weekend but so far that weekend is clear. BOO

I don't how this was shipped but when people send stuff to me via the US Postal system I never know whats going on until it arrives. Their tracking system just says they have been notified that a package is coming, the next information I get is either the site says it's delivered or there was an attempted delivery. The US Postal system is a total waste, waste of money. BOO

Yeah I don't think there is a cooling thing going on there either. As I recall there was a nice Venture Line solid panel you could buy and put in there that matched the bike color. I can't remember if it was for the the 1983 thru 85 bikes or the 1986 thru 93 bikes or maybe both. The bikes I owned I always closed the vents up during the summer because of the heat coming out of there and opened them in the cold weather for heat. BOO

Well since he has no insurance hopefully he won't be able to get the bike fixed and he won't be riding for some time. One more ding off the road. BOO

I have an IPass for Illinois. I don't think they have anything other than just the car deal BUT one time when one of the trailers was being passed through my area I met the guy south of the the Chicago area and since I was pulling a trailer I went through the cash lanes just in case there was a problem. I went through 4 tolls and the cashier charged me 4 different amounts, all the way from free to two dollars and something. While in Indiana last summer I was charged a six dollar toll because my IPass didn't trip when I got on the tollroad but of course it did when I got off. BOO

I'll try to make this short as possible. I was in business for pretty much 35 years. My wife always grabbed my check book on Fridays and wrote herself a check for the house, no problem. But maybe after I had been in business for some 15 years we were just chatting and sort of poking at each about divorce and money. She had worked at the Circuit Clerks office for some time. Her comment was "she could divorce me and I would have to pay dearly". My comment was "I have no money, didn't make any money, I had never taken any money out of the business and could prove it." - - - She never wrote another check to herself the rest of the time I worked. Was pretty funny at the time. But yeah, she has her money and she has our money. As long as I have gas for the bike and a beer once in a while I'm good. BOO

I'm thinking that will be her chance to get rid of me. (Nursing Home) 44 years this summer. BOO

I for one really don't care to ride in big groups whether I know them or not. There is no reason I can think of for a group of PGR riders to be riding like that but I know it happens. The group I ride with regularly have a couple of riders I absolutely will not ride close to. There guys have been riding for a long time but I think they might need a white cane with a red tip. Glad you are okay and was able to continue to ride. Good Luck, BOO

That is absolutely some of my favorite riding. There just seems to be road after road of really good riding. BOO

Handling Question
BOO replied to Reddog170's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Some of the first gens would develop a wiggle in the rear end and was caused by the rear swing arm. The early models did not have a zerk fitting and didn't get greased. The feel of the bike was more of a snake kind of thing though. Wasn't dangerous but did feel different. BOO -
Yeah to his phone. We know everything about his phone is clean. BOO

I have mine on a switch with a relay. I have my lights set rather high because I want to see at night but they are so high I need to turn them off if there is oncoming traffic. I can flash them at someone if I need to though. I do run them full time during the day so the cages can see me and I know they do see me because they flash their headlights at me once in a while because the lights are set so high. Another thing that bugs me is if I'm riding with someone that has their running lights on all the time at night their lights tend to blind me through the mirrors even if they are set low especially if we are riding out in the country where it is very dark. This is more pronounced at stop signs etc. If I told you how I switch them that would probably start a whole other thread. Just my BOO

Of course this didn't happen on the motorcycle but I had an equipment trailer that used a 2 5/16 ball and the boat I pulled around to fish in had a 1 7/8 ball. I had a ball that you could change just the ball so one day I backed up to the equipment trailer and one of the guys hooked it up for me. Nothing on the trailer but you guessed it, it bounced off the ball but the chains caught it but what a pain getting it back on the hitch. Chains do work but they need to be heavy enough to hold the load while it banging around behind you. I don't think I would want that to happen behind the bike. BOO

Cruise problem with 89 VR
BOO replied to Jayceesfolly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It's been a while since I've had a first gen but I did have some troubles with the cruise on the 89 I had. I believe I swapped the hand brake switch for the clutch switch. As I recall the linage wears on the clutch side and lets the switch lose contact. And I think the switches are the same. At any rate I fixed the cruise without buying any parts but the old brain is turning to granite. Wish I could remember more, sorry. BOO -
I don't have this one but I have seen it on some bikes and it's really bright. Nice light. BOO

Since you and I have talked at great length on different subjects over Soda Pop:whistling: I'm sure you will take this in the lite that it's meant:stirthepot: As we all know the two bikes are different animals and there ain't much I don't like about the RSV. BOO

You guys seen the new 2012 Goldwing. I may be late with this but I had not seen one before. Nice looking bike but looks a lot like a BMW. Lot of creature features. Not for me but nice. BOO

I have a friend that swears by the Bridgestones. He likes the white walls and I think he gets about 10 + thousand miles out of them. He has around 90K on his bike and has always had the bridgestones. I don't care for them myself but I've never had any experience with them either. I like the Dunlap tires so I don't go buying different brands. BOO
