Went to change the oil on my dad's 05 RSV today and as I lay down next to it to reach under for the filter I noticed antifreeze dripping off the frame onto the garage floor. I took the cover off the front right cylinder where it was all wet and found an open hole, that when the motor was running was pouring antifreeze out like a garden hose. I have the identical bike so I took the same cover off and it seems there is a plug of some sort in the hole on my bike, dad referred to it as possibly a freeze plug? I am not the most mechanically inclined person so I haven't a clue what I was looking at. I am going to try to attach a couple pics here, hopefully it will work so you can see what I was looking at and possibly offer some advice. I took the cover off the rear cylinder as well and there is a plug in the hole on that one, but there was a small amount of antifreeze on the base of the cylinder right under the plug. The bike was garaged all winter, I had it running about two weeks ago and everything was fine with it. Any help you can provide to save us a trip to the stealer would be greatly appreciated. In the photo of both cylinders I circled the two holes with purple to pinpoint what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance

Sounds like a good alternative to Rolling Thunder. May have to see if this runs again next year and make a road trip

Unfortunately the conviction in the Ottawa Hills case was overturned in January on a "technicality" Go figure. Ottawa Hills officer conviction for 2009 felonious assault reversed

Feels like spring here in south central Pa.

Must be a nice feeling, we got 23 1/2 inches of snow yesterday 30 miles south of Boston. It is supposed to be 53 out on Monday, but I have a feeling there will be a little to much water on the roads for riding on Monday. Maybe a week or two from now. -

I'm in for 2...just let me know where / when to send the $$ Thanks -
Look closely as well, a good friend bought the F-150 new last July, was going considering going with the ecoboost until they told him he had to run premium fuel in it. It was something along the lines of a 3-4 thousand $$ option on the truck and then the added fuel cost. He went with the 5.0 and has had nothing but good things to say about it.

Prayers are on the way. My coworkers daughter had the same diagnosis 7 years ago. She was at work one night didn't feel well, in the hospital the next day. She is fully recovered and the proud parent of a two year old little boy today!! Keep the faith!

How much should a furnace blower motor cost?
bostonlawman2003 replied to Midrsv's topic in Watering Hole
I just had to say that this is exactly why I have no problem paying my $12 every year. What a great group of people on this site, to be able to ask questions about anything, doesn't matter if it's bike bike related or not, and get good solid advice, not flamed like you would on some other forums. Awesome, just Awesome! -

Congrats on the new ride, that is gorgeous! -
Wow, thanks for the replies guys...I'm surprised to hear that this is normal, but I will definitely pass the info on to Jeff. I also told him to get his butt out here and join up as this is the most helpful group of people on the internet and the best $12 he will ever spend!!

Hey all Posting for a friend of mine who recently purchased an 83 Venture. He had it serviced carbs cleaned, fluids all changed, new rubber. His problem is that it is running really hot. Temp gauge will redline, then fans come on and cool it down but just a little bit. He said it's uncomfortable to ride with the amount of heat it's putting out. He spoke with the stealer and was told that "that's just how they run". Doesn't sound right to me. Any advice or thoughts as to what his issue might be? Thanks for your help! Joe

I have the Commander II's on my 05 RSV, it's what she came with and I have put about 8,000 miles on them very happily. They do still sing pretty good in corners, but other than that I have no complaints. Good grip, comfortable in the rain, overall a good tire.

I will be leaving on Wed 5/23 for our trek to DC. We are stopping in NYC at the Ground Zero Memorial on Wednesday afternoon, then heading the rest of the way to DC on Thursday. I have the honor of riding with my dad, a Vietnam Vet, and several members of the American Legion Riders out of Whitman, MA. This has become an annual pilgrimage for most of our family as we've been represented in some capacity at the last 8 Rolling Thunders. Last year my 8 year old rode with me. This year my older son (he's 10) will be making the trip. I know that these are memories with their Papa that will last their whole lives!
