  1. "instead of getting that list of hardware at HD or lowes, why can't I just get this??" I think I paid around $25.00 for the 42S at a local O Reilly auto parts store and your links show a higher price. The hardware is needed to connect the fuel lines and still keep the location of the new pump in the same area on the bike as the original fuel pump. If not already stated, with this pump you will need to be get in the habit of turning off the fuel at the petcock when you turn the bike off. There is another aftermarket pump mentioned in other posts you can use that does not require turning off the fuel
  2. As ACE suggested - if they are stock mufflers with the original tips they are adjustable. If aftermarket we can maybe help,if we know the manufacturer
  3. I had Baron Nasty Boys 4-2-4 on my RSTD and they are some of the loudest
  4. 2008 RSTD speedo pickup is on the rear wheel

30,000+ on a MR Gasket. Just have to be sure to turn fuel off every time
  6. There is a nice new Bass Pro 1 1/2 to 2 hours north of Decatur in East Peoria (I74) if you end up on that road when you head to Rock Island. If you like motorcycle museums there is nice one (National Motorcycle Museum) less than a mile from J&P
  7. The V8 was cool but there was a V12 created by the same guy. Two inline 6's stuck together
  8. It's hard to say this and I can't even believe I am even thinking it of a Venture or Tour Deluxe, but that is ugly!
  9. Just changed my rear pads for the first time at 31,000. Fronts still have half or better left. I did switch the rear side to side once at around 20,000 to even them out
  10. The difference in the links is 1/4 inch shorter than stock to increase the rear height by one inch. There is a write up in the tech section that provides the dimensions
  11. I have had the same type of fuse and the same meltdown occur on my garden tractor. It was caused by the same poor connection at the fuse as MikeWa mentioned. No short further down line, just the heat buildup in the fuse box
  12. The dealer in tomahawk Wi has a 2013
  13. Orlin, One of these days I hope it works I can take you up on your offers. I have a daughter and a son in Madison and NE of Madison now so I am up there frequently. August 2nd I will have just returned from the IR so it will be difficult to make it.
  14. Joel, When I return from the IR next weekend I am going to be trading my 2007 RSTD off on a new Venture. I will be pulling some of my upgrades off before taking to the dealership. Things like the rear luggage rack and Mustang Seats are a couple of things that won't be needed on the Venture. If you are interested in some add ons send me a PM and we will discuss.
  15. Thanks!
  16. Carl, Have you found a good forum for your new ride? Asking for a coworker who recently purchased a Spider
  17. I have been considering switching to the Hagon. Is the degree of difficulty to adjust described by Bumblebee typical? I'm not sure I want to go through that every time I switch from one to two up. I ride single 75% of the time. For all you Hagon users - is that what you have to do?
  18. I know what you mean about finding something like that when you need it. In this case I keep the same piece of rubber hose right with my spark plug socket
  19. Too late now for ya, but next time slip a piece of rubber fuel line on to the end of the plug. Maybe 6 inches long. Should be a snug fit and it will act as an extension.
  20. I am already on the RSVP list but I now will be accompanied by my wife so you can add one more Thanks for organizing this!
  21. Have you guys considered running your wires inside the chrome piece that follows the arc of the fender to the rear of the bag guards? It looks like you could drill a hole in the guard back there in order to get the wires inside. Just a thought
  22. I just installed Dion's relay and harness and it was only a 10 minute job. Quality product for a reasonable price
  23. They are available with studs too
  24. Carbon One's bracket and wire harness are definitely the way to go. He encloses a set of instructions and it's pretty easy to do. I bought a Wolo on sale at OReilly Auto Parts that was a few bucks less than same horn at Harbor Freight
  25. I have used the Grasshopper for a couple of years. Works great. I have noticed after about 30,000 miles of use the portion that slides through the bracket hard mounted to the bike is starting to get a little rusty. Nothing a quick spray of paint won't cure
