  1. Just changed my rear pads for the first time at 31,000. Fronts still have half or better left. I did switch the rear side to side once at around 20,000 to even them out
  2. The difference in the links is 1/4 inch shorter than stock to increase the rear height by one inch. There is a write up in the tech section that provides the dimensions
  3. I have had the same type of fuse and the same meltdown occur on my garden tractor. It was caused by the same poor connection at the fuse as MikeWa mentioned. No short further down line, just the heat buildup in the fuse box
  4. The dealer in tomahawk Wi has a 2013
  5. Orlin, One of these days I hope it works I can take you up on your offers. I have a daughter and a son in Madison and NE of Madison now so I am up there frequently. August 2nd I will have just returned from the IR so it will be difficult to make it.
  6. Joel, When I return from the IR next weekend I am going to be trading my 2007 RSTD off on a new Venture. I will be pulling some of my upgrades off before taking to the dealership. Things like the rear luggage rack and Mustang Seats are a couple of things that won't be needed on the Venture. If you are interested in some add ons send me a PM and we will discuss.
  7. Thanks!
  8. Carl, Have you found a good forum for your new ride? Asking for a coworker who recently purchased a Spider
  9. I have been considering switching to the Hagon. Is the degree of difficulty to adjust described by Bumblebee typical? I'm not sure I want to go through that every time I switch from one to two up. I ride single 75% of the time. For all you Hagon users - is that what you have to do?
  10. I know what you mean about finding something like that when you need it. In this case I keep the same piece of rubber hose right with my spark plug socket
  11. Too late now for ya, but next time slip a piece of rubber fuel line on to the end of the plug. Maybe 6 inches long. Should be a snug fit and it will act as an extension.
  12. I am already on the RSVP list but I now will be accompanied by my wife so you can add one more Thanks for organizing this!
  13. Have you guys considered running your wires inside the chrome piece that follows the arc of the fender to the rear of the bag guards? It looks like you could drill a hole in the guard back there in order to get the wires inside. Just a thought
  14. I just installed Dion's relay and harness and it was only a 10 minute job. Quality product for a reasonable price
  15. They are available with studs too
  16. Carbon One's bracket and wire harness are definitely the way to go. He encloses a set of instructions and it's pretty easy to do. I bought a Wolo on sale at OReilly Auto Parts that was a few bucks less than same horn at Harbor Freight
  17. I have used the Grasshopper for a couple of years. Works great. I have noticed after about 30,000 miles of use the portion that slides through the bracket hard mounted to the bike is starting to get a little rusty. Nothing a quick spray of paint won't cure
  18. I don't personally know Buddy but wish him well. But I think it is important to note he is lucky to have a son like Mike who took it upon himself to let us all know. Thanks Mike and get well soon Buddy
  19. Yes. They are one inch dia but you should consider adding a brace to run from the crash bar to the frame. The front crash bars will "give" or move with the weight of your feet on them. This movement will crack your lower fairings. We have a member who fabricates and sells them through the site. They are priced very reasonable
  20. My plans for that weekend may be changing so I might be able to make it
  21. Suggestions on where to get the power http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35002
  22. Here is a wiring diagram that should help http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=525 I will see if I can find some more links
  23. Mike, You may want to consider isolating the those lights to their own circuit protected with their own fuse and a relay. If someday you lose one for whatever reason you have the other as a backup. There are posts on how to do this.
  24. I wonder if they will add an out of balance electric motor to make it vibrate? But really, I strongly suspect our gasoline bikes will be in the museums and we'll be riding electrics
  25. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=492 This might work also
