Have you changed the brake fluid lately? Should changed every 2 years (clutch fluid too)

I have had the Baggershield fo several years. I think you are referring to where you are fastening the clear section in the upright position. The issue is the same in the reverse as when you reverse it to store in the lowered position.. I switch mine periodically throughout the season and do it now without much thought or trouble. I have found that it helps to slide the section over and on to the center stud first. You can add the plastic nut at this point but loosely. Then flex it from either the left or right side, whichever you are doing next, and guide it over the next stud. Then follow with the other side. Installing on the center stud holds it allowing you to bend or flex the shield. Hope this helps!

Best Fuel Pump replacement Options???
vzuden replied to Kinglicious's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have used the 42S and it works fine but you do need to do a little plumbing with common hardware store fittings. The most important thing to remember is you really need to turn off the fuel at the petcock when shutting off the bike since it doesnt have a shut off as part of the pump. It wasn’t a problem for me as I always shut it off whenever I park, even with the factory pump on my more recent bikes. -
There’s no way I would ride with valve stems that old. You don’t have to take the tire back off the rim to change it. You should be able to break the bead seal and push the bead inward far enough to clear the stem

One of the reasons I only use oil from my Yamaha dealer. I spend a couple of bucks more but I know it is of good quality but more importantly I am supporting a local business

Check for corrosion at the starter solenoid where you found the 30amp fuses. After that take off the battery cables at the battery and wire brush them. Then check where the ground cable ground near the right side horn

Ram mount for my phone with blue tooth into my helmet. Charger wired in and mounted inside fairing with lead out to the phone. It does music, phone calls, navigation, and intercom -
I have owned some property along a state hiway for nearly 30 years and the trash, while it has always been occurring, has gotten worse in the last 10 years or so. Always beer cans/bottles but now the fast food cups and wrappers along with dirty diapers. It’s hard for me to understand why people do this.

Not sure either Papa Fred - Please keep on posting as you have. I enjoy your posts and the corrections/progress you have made

HD Exhaust Information
vzuden replied to Coyote251's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
In the years Harley was putting the catalytic converter in the muffler it was in the right side. The left was pretty much free flowing. You want to avoid those model years or do as I did. I had a set given to me for free and the right side had the cat. I tried to remove it and ended up ruining the muffler so I bought another left side muffler on eBay for $15. So I am running with two left mufflers, made my own brackets, and bought a couple of chrome clamps on eBay. The left muffler on the right side has a small indent for the Harley side stand but since it is down low and under the saddle bag it is not noticeable -
if it were mine I would take that battery to an auto parts place and have it load tested. Start there before I went any further

Yes gen2 basket fits but....idle whine
vzuden replied to LaclaMoe's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My 2006 had the whine even after the basket change near the end of the five year warranty. Didn’t mind it and traded it on my 2012 that has very little whine (or maybe I don’t even notice it) -
2nd gen relays and fuses
vzuden replied to OutKast's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have used that extra wire with the white connector (removed it) to power my passing lamp relay. As for a power port I have added a cigarette lighter type socket with a rubber weather resistant cover to the small plastic panel near the passenger foot rest. I have done this on my last two Ventures. It has a dual purpose. My wife plug her phone in while riding with an adapter to make it USB and it will power my small air compressor I carry with me. Besides providing power I can use the same port to plug in my battery maintainer. I put it in the right side as that is closest to electric outlet in my garage. Just have to be sure to unplug it when leaving. The wiring is direct to the battery terminals with an in-line fuse
