  1. Yep. Never had to disconnect it
  2. I would be interested in attending this year. I am open in June except for the last weekend as that is the annual northern Illinois Root Beer run and also the IMS international motorcycle show in Chicago.
  3. 5-6 drops sounds a little light. I usually use an oil can with a trigger pump and give it two to three squirts. The idea is that the oil will make up for worn rings so if the compression is low and then increases with the oil, the rings are worn. If there is no change then there can be leakage at the valves
  4. The thread in the center of the freeze plugs is the same as that on the tip of a spark plug with removable tip. Just thread the spark plug into the freeze plug and pull.
  5. I use blue tooth to my phone and have done so for 10+ years. Not even sure how to turn the Venture radio on and when I did try it sounded pretty poor.
  6. Member CarbonOne used to make a nice horn bracket. It came with the wiring and necessary relay as plug and play. Not sure if Larry is still making them
  7. Have you changed the brake fluid lately? Should changed every 2 years (clutch fluid too)
  8. I have had the Baggershield fo several years. I think you are referring to where you are fastening the clear section in the upright position. The issue is the same in the reverse as when you reverse it to store in the lowered position.. I switch mine periodically throughout the season and do it now without much thought or trouble. I have found that it helps to slide the section over and on to the center stud first. You can add the plastic nut at this point but loosely. Then flex it from either the left or right side, whichever you are doing next, and guide it over the next stud. Then follow with the other side. Installing on the center stud holds it allowing you to bend or flex the shield. Hope this helps!
  9. 2005 model year forward will work
  10. dfitzbiz rebuilt my shock - very reasonable and quick turn around
  11. I have used the 42S and it works fine but you do need to do a little plumbing with common hardware store fittings. The most important thing to remember is you really need to turn off the fuel at the petcock when shutting off the bike since it doesnt have a shut off as part of the pump. It wasn’t a problem for me as I always shut it off whenever I park, even with the factory pump on my more recent bikes.
  12. There’s no way I would ride with valve stems that old. You don’t have to take the tire back off the rim to change it. You should be able to break the bead seal and push the bead inward far enough to clear the stem
  13. One of the reasons I only use oil from my Yamaha dealer. I spend a couple of bucks more but I know it is of good quality but more importantly I am supporting a local business
  14. My attendance will be dependent on when we get vaccinated
  15. Check for corrosion at the starter solenoid where you found the 30amp fuses. After that take off the battery cables at the battery and wire brush them. Then check where the ground cable ground near the right side horn
  16. Yea, he rebuilt mine 2 years ago and it is great
  17. It needs to be compatible with aluminum
  18. Where did you purchase your catch can?
  19. Work with member Skydoc. He has a shim kit and the necessary special tool. You can purchase the gaskets from him too

  21. Did you check with your dealer to see if this bike was involved in a recall? I believe I had 2006 or 2007 RSTD that had a recall on the head bolts. If was a truly a recall they should repair it for you
  22. could it be spraying coolant upwards towards the frame from a leaking coolant hose?
