    I know how you feel. I'm in the same boat. I served from 68 to 76 and served in Germany and Korea. I volunteered for Nam but never was chosen. My younger brother did, but not me. Not much of a need for M-60 driver and gunner in a jungle. I will, like you support them and all other vets anyway way I can.     I have one from legalspeeding.com I don't use it on the RSV, have a sidecar so not an issue but I use it on my roadstar. I love it because it keeps the bike up straight and its easy to keep up against the garage wall and not leaning on its kick stand taking up room in the limited space of my garage. Now, that being said it can be a chore to take down, the floorboard can sometimes get in the way. I love it because I can turn the bike around in the garage and drive out. I hate backing out. Rick A.

    I think I have found the perfect custom leather work for my motorcycle. Aces High Leather has completed my first job and it is posted on her website at http://www.acehighleathers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=56 My bike is the bottom mud flap and I am going to have her do one for my Roadstar also. another picture is also located at http://www.acehighleathers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=54 She is great and the turn around time was less than a week.     Just an FYI, and I knew this before I did it, my local Yamaha dealer has refused to do any warranty work on my RSV because of the sidecar. Even if the request is for work on known recall issues. I don't know if this applies to aftermarket trike conversions. They said the sidecar puts the engine under extreme stress and thus voids the warranty. I think I also read that somewhere. My advice is, if you want to add something of significant to your bike make sure you know if it can void the warranty or wait until the warranty expires. JUST AN FYI Rick A.

    Not to scare you or anything, but knee replacement do fail and they fail more frequently than most people realize. Example I have had one total knee replacement on my left knee, in 08, less that a year later it failed, something about the adhesive on the lower protheses, so that had to go in and do what they call a revision of the TKR, got the revision done late in 09. Ok got a totally different type of knee things went well until a componant of the new knee broke off, in 2010 got a third revision. Ok, doing well so far on the left knee. So that brings us to October 2010 time to do the right knee. Doing well so far. Worked hard to get at least 98 degrees flexibility in my right knee and and by mid Nov. I was riding my Roadstar 1700, I had to devise a new technic to mounting my RSV because is is a lot taller than the Roadstar and my hip had a hard time swinging that right leg with the new knee over the seat. Long story short I am now and have been riding both bikes for about a month. My operations was performed at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio TX. I was in very good company during my rehab working along side our wounded warriors. You may do better than me. I am not in the best of physical conditioning, but I make it by riding a lot now.     I also added a reserve fuel tank to my RSV when I had my sidecar transplanted from my old V-Star 1100. Its a 3gal and just fits in the trunk. One of the best things I have added to my RSV. http://tourtank.com/ Very fast service. Rick A. a man of few words, more or less.

    Then of course there is always the luggage rack mounts...but don't those get in the way I have the luggage rack mounts on my sidecar also. I have no problems the the flag mounts Interfering with anything I place on the rack. They are adjustable and gives a little added support to any bags. I am also looking at the mounts for my saddle bags also. Rick A. a man of few words

    Been there, done that. The answer to that question is(D.) All of the above. You should see that in a military hospital. I did. The first time in 1974 as a volunteer. It was done in the Physical Therapy Dept. The last time a couple of years ago in Neurology and that was at the world famous Brooke Army Medical Center. It was a Electrifying to say least. Have fun.
