  1. Man I feel like a newbie, but I can not find what the post you are referring to in the classifieds. Give me a couple of hints on how to find it. Scott...
  2. Love the optimist!! Thanks for the tiny thread to hold on to trying to get through the winter months... Scott.....
  3. Wow, I have lived in Wisconsin and never heard of that one either...:-) I see it is straight north of Green Bay so it is about 4 hours away from me. Would have loved to have helped you out. On a related note, if that deal falls through, I will also be selling my '99 RSV this winter. Scott....
  4. Same questions for you. What arm rests are you showing in the picture?
  5. Brakepad, what arm rests are the ones you have on your bike? Are they Diamonds?
  6. Thanks for all the responses! I already have added a driver backrest that has the pouch for her stuff. I need to look into what you guys are referring to when you are talking about adjustable passenger foot pegs. She has complained that after a 200 mile day, her knees are sore. I still am not sure about the armrests. I can see your point for security, but do they really use them verse just have hands lay in lap? As for the off season... It was 1 degree F this morning with a stiff breeze. More snow this weekend with some below zero mornings coming next week. November is a very sad time of the year knowing I am parking both the bass boat and the bike....:-( Scott....
  7. I have a '99 RSV and in this off season I want to update my bike to make it more comfortable for my wife (rider). Wondering what suggestions you guys have and what you have done to make it a little better. Wondering about armrests. Are they work the effort? How about other suggestions? Thanks, Scott....
  8. Wal-Mart has them. Mine is a bright blue color and was located next to the ipod stuff near the headphones. Scott....
  9. I noticed the holes in mine yesterday for the first time. It was in the teens and while I was standing beside it letting it warm up I could see the exhaust coming out the back and also out two holes on the bottom of each side. Glad to now know they are factory drain holes. Scott...
  10. Vern, You are killing me....:-) We are supposed to start getting a rain/snow mix starting tomorrow for the whole week. Probably very limited (if any) riding now until April...:-( Enjoy your ride... SCott....
  11. A lot of us "older" riders have been through the same thing. Always a short term sadness to give up something like your bike, but the long term joy of the family long out weighs it. On a side note, let me know when you are ready to post the wiring harness for sale. I am going to need one. Good luck, we are all pulling for you... Scott...
  12. It has an option to load your routes into the Garmin. I have a 765T that I use with it. After you create/edit a route, you have the option to save it to your Garmin. Scott....
  13. Bill, Someone on this forum pointed me to this program. TYRE (Take Your Route Everywhere). I have used it a few times now and am very pleased with it. http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php Hope this helps. Scott.....
  14. I'll get some time to take the seat off and check for connections this weekend. Thanks again, Scott....
  15. Thumbs up to the RSV!! I got my "new to me" 99 RSV this summer so this cold weather riding season with it. Had a meeting in Minneapolis this morning so I headed out from my place here in Northern Wisconsin at 5:00am. Temp was 35 degrees. 120 miles to the cities and not cold at all. I wore my Cabela's Dry Plus rain gear bibs from my boat. Not insulated, but windproof so my knees were fine. Probably close to the end of our season. Rain forecast for this weekend and then temps are supposed to drop next week even more... Scott.....
  16. Went for a ride this morning and my CB will not turn on. Radio worked fine. CB has been working fine until this morning. Tried a search on here, but the words CB and on are too short to use as keywords...:-) I did recently have the seat off to install an Ultimate backrest. I'm not sure where the CB is, but there are wires that run along the top of the rear fender under the seat. Did I mess something up with them? Open for ideas on what to start checking. Scott....
  17. Buddy, I'm new to the Venture and to this site. Just saw your thread about the knee warmers and new I needed them. It was 24 degrees when I left the house on the bike this morning for work. Going to worm all the way up to 64 though...:-) Scott....
  18. I will try to the set/acc/acc button press sequence tomorrow. Scott...
  19. Hello, I have a couple of things working against me here. I am new to the Venture so I am not sure how things should work based on other rides, and I bought my bike used so I do not know what mods/problems the PO may have done/had. I have searched and read all the items on this site I can but have not seen the same issue I have. Okay, When I press the set button, the set light comes on but no cruise engages. If I press and hold the res/acc button for a few seconds, it does engage and seems to work, although with a few mph swing up and down. Not really sure how consistent it should be so not sure if this part is right. Also, once engaged, pressing the res/acc will not increase speed, but press and hold will. Ant ideas where I should start checking?
