  1. Would you really need to be told to stay back? I would drop 2 gears and get as far away from that disaster as I could.
  2. Looks like that must fit a first gen.
  3. So far only have the few hundred miles from where I bought it home. Other than a couple trips back and forth to work which is about 12 miles round trip. lol
  4. 2013 had 20,500 miles when we bought it. Passenger arm rests, 2" pull back handlebars, driver backrest, kuryakyn highway pegs (even though I can reach them) adjustable windshield. Rubber is good although I need to check the date codes.
  5. No choice. The other one is gone. lol
  6. Got ya. Been there before
  7. Well after years of struggling with the top heavy RSV I traded the other day. Now I got something I can actually get both feet flat on ground with no mods, Fuel injection (no more sync carbs) I can back it up with out the wife helping and it feels a lot lighter even though almost the same weight.
  8. looks like an F6 with a stolen Hyabusa fairing and really noisy pipes.
  9. Barry seems Sept would be a little early for color. But one never knows and that is a little further north than what we usually go in Oct. After I posted the link for you I actually looked at surrounding area rooms, most everything I looked at was booked. Hope you all dont have as many tourists up there that week we have down in these parts right now. Geeze
  10. Maybe heres a back up plan Barry if you don't get in at park. Canaan Village Inn
  11. LOL Yup I can see that. Best 2nd Lt I worked for was a prior enlisted E-8. Mater of fact he did my last 2 enlistments.
  12. Glad at least on of us GI's made a decision. Almost like working for a bunch of officers.
  13. Indian: I thought I had an old pair of rain britches in the garage for you. Well 1/2 of that was true. I did have an old pair hanging around out there, but when I went to take them off the hanger, well they wont hold any water out lets say. Here is Jafrum, Leather up.com, cycle gear
  14. Check out Cycle Gear or Jafrum. They usually have some pretty good deals on rain gear. Last year I somehow didnt get the wifes rain pants loaded in bag. So when it started raining (naturally it would being I didnt have them) We stopped in to wally world and got a pair of coleman rain pants in the sporting goods section for about $12 or 15 bucks.
  15. Barry, Steve had originally suggested Jaxsons, then Tom said Watering hole. Jaxsons is about 30 min further south in Lake Placid. Jaxsons is fine with me for whomever (or as my boss in NC use to say ever who) is keeping score. Watering hole I wont get out of 4th gear.
  16. A couple thoughts on the caliper. To me it does look as though corrosion has caused you issues. Dissimilar metals like to not play well together. Alum housing and steel pistons. Thats why high performance calipers will have either alum pistons or stainless steel. I had a caliper on a F-150 that hung up. Was that way a long time before I discovered it. It killed the pad against the piston (only movable pad) and didnt really show undo heat had been in rotor. Could be an alignment problem like we have go on @ the rear of the 2nd gen also. The other thing could be what happens on some car flexible lines. The interior rubber deteriorates to the point it act like a "check valve". It allows the fluid to work under high pressure (brakes applied) but with just the return pressure available (static) the hose restricts to where fluid will not flow backwards.
  17. The 4.6 v-8 motors had issues with the "composite" (ie plastic) intakes warping and coolant leak. WE had a town car in the shop a weak or so ago had same thing going on. Leaks and fills intake galley of motor. Not to bad to fix if you can do the work, manifold runs about $250 from Advance. The Ford v-8 with the long long plugs are pretty bad about twisting off in half when you do a tune up. But thats like once every 100k. Look over on a site called http://www.stangnet.com I had a 90 Fox body stick convertible car. Lots of fun. For fuel mileage difference I think I would just pony up (lol) and go v-8 Personally I like the 02 up body of the ones your looking into. Also the range of years you are looking at have issues with the brake calipers locking up when they sit for periods of time. WE have a instructional car at the school I work at the brakes lock up on it due to sitting. Also my brother in law had an 04 I think and his would sit for long periods, he put 2.5 sets of calipers on it before he sold it.
  18. I have both ends from building different cables for folks. So if you run out of options PM me.
  19. Nice days ride
  20. I tried to get the wife a heated seat today. It was attached to a 2016 Victory XCT. But was almost 4k over what we had budgeted. So big no sale.
  21. Some of the states I looked at say no headset. Soooo the $300 I shelled out the for the Sena is illegal? What about all these 18 wheeler I see with these headsets on? Another dumb law to protect us from our-self. I have worn ear buds from fla to and thru Canada and back down to Fla. If I would have not had ear buds in my ears would have been still ringing.
  22. I didnt keep very good track this year again. Just looked at my maintenance records, maybe 10 k. Sad to say the least.
  23. I have not been there for a lunch. Have had dinner there a couple time and it has been good. Bad thing is I wont even get the choke off by the time I get there.
  24. Thats cool. I can remember a couple of my earliest rides with my brothers actually. My oldest granddaughter is only 4 so I dont see this happening for me for awhile. I think probably better when they are yours age. They are a little more aware. Glad you all had a good time. PS Just saw on yahoo that in El Paso it was snowing, so your kids got the better end of that deal.
  25. This is not a headline you often read at this time of year from you all.
