New Version of the VentureMp3 SD card player available?
djh3 replied to videoarizona's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I had located an I simple unit for a cage I thought would work. Figured might have to rearange some pins to make it work on the RSV. But I traded prior to messing with it. I think it was a unit for a VW or Toyota, but I dont remember rite now. Go to their site and look to see if you can find one that uses a "c-bus" Thats what the CD changer plug is. -
Yup Steve K be the man. He has the goods on most lighting connectors.

I'm heading up to Daytona tomorrow for the day. Just to get out and ride.

Dont think I can make it by tomorrow. Not even if I left @ 330 rite after work today. I'm off next week (schools out) and we have a 3 day get out of town appointment.

How do you 2nd Gen riders swap out rear tires on the road?
djh3 replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
I do suppose if you were in BFE you would have to figure out something. Maybe set it on fire as a signal? Probably only us old school tube guys remember throwing baby powder in there to help keep tube from getting pinched too. I really dont miss that stuff. -

I could see it being done IF. I had some way to break the bead that didnt include me standing on a 2x6 which is pretty much how I have had to do them in the past. Wont happen anymore as new bike has belt drive so axle goes all the way through. -
Doc said "no ridiing your motorcycle for a while",, good thing he didnt say
djh3 replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Well Puc, if I read the subject line rite. Your in the clear. Doc said no riding "your" motorcycle, right? So it wasnt yours was it? LOL Just the racer in me. -
I get "the rules" of a contractor. Problem is for this type job it really is hard to stick to. If say I have to take a car to race track for support for day and track opens at say 8am, I have to be there ahead of that and make sure car is ready to go by 8am. If at shop and it opens at 8 closes at 5 thats kind of when you have to be there. Cant harley say whats my work for tomorrow ahead of time and say its only going to take me 6 hours so I'm sleeping in.

Checked with an tax guy today. S corp is basically a tax dodge to keep from paying SS. Well I might want that here in a few years. Actually thats part of why I am looking to change at this time. current job pay is like 1200 month after tax. I'm in my last 10 years of working the IRS looks at to set your social security. This other job would be 2400 a month pre tax. Of course its 40 hours a month more working also. Neither has insurance, vacation or 401k

Well I have an offer to go to work for a fellow. It is as a contractor on a 1099. Last time I work that way I seem to remember paying way to much to the government for my liking. Pay is pretty decent when you look at gross, but last time year end was awful writing that check. Employer mentioned about an S Corp and an advantage to setting one of these up and paying yourself thru it? When I did a look see about this, best I could cipher it would cost me the same amount either way. Any experience guys?

I wouldnt even try. Its got to be so high off ground, bags off, mufflers off. It would be dark before you could get it off dinking around without proper tools etc. Then there is the tools needed to break it down and the disk not getting dinged up. -
Boy I just cant see any of those being a viable usable mic on a bike @ 50+ mph on the highway. By the time you factor in wind noise, engine noise and what not. Edsets makes a cable that will allow a GPS that has bluetooth and a mic output to connect to the comm's. Your best bet may be just go with a Sena or other bluetooth helmet comm.

I just think those big ole honkin fenders would load up with water bad if you had to rain like we have occasion to get down here.

Fine print says either the 4t or V-twin oil. So 10w40 or the 20w50

I went in 78 everything was ssan, even when I got out in 96. But they were phasing out putting on some things. I understand now its not even on your DD2 ID card. I registered my "raised seal" 214 at the court house where I separated from in Oklahoma. Guess I should register one here where I live now. But I can fetch a copy of mine in about 2 minutes. I have had to have it a couple times for employment.

Yup here is the thread for that. OK so with that being said I was in an Oreilies auto parts the other day and they had WIX filters on sale. So I grabbed the equivalent filter and it looks like it is made the correct way to use. Have not checked the Purolator to see if they changed it back or not.

So did you go back to a Radial? Mine has radials on it. I think they still say dont mix radials and bias ply. I skip wheel weights and go with the dynabeads. I would like to go with a Michelin commander 2 on my XCT when its time to change, but it dont seem they make one in size needed.

Man, when I first started reading I was afraid you got rear-ended while on the bike. Sucks there was contact at all. But for you it was a better way I guess.

E-ZACTLY what I was thinkin.

The "straight" antenna is for the AM/FM radio. Have no idea what your new system would require. I know my Victory XCT comes stock with a longer antenna, but mine has a shorty. Thank goodness because the way they mount I would be walking into it all the time.

Well some of us have to pay for all this "FREE" stuff Obama and his crew keep giving away at our expense. These leaches on society dont care who pays as long as it aint them. Seems my military retirement I get a small maybe 2% boost a year for cost of living and the IRS gets 2.5% back in tax.

Only one CB antenna. The one with the big black thing on it. Dont think a cassette deck goes for much. Most guys pull them out and make a little glove box sort of deal and put wallet, phone, MP3 player or something in it. Why the big toss on stereo stuff? Dont the amp and stuff work? If the stuff works why pitch it? CL is a roll of the dice. If you have a bunch of RSV's in your area you may sell the stuff. E-bay is probably a better bet on the "specialty" RSV stuff. The CD players dont fetch much either maybe $50 if a guy really needs one. Mine spent most of its life I had it on a storage shelf as it ate a lot of space inthe bag up on trips.
