If you are just trying to protect from scratches, this stuff works pretty great. I installed a pretty good sized kit like 8 or 10 pieces. Like static cling.

Ran the Rottela T6 almost the entire time I owned my RSV. When I didnt run it I had Mobil 1 20w50 in it. I ran it in my 900 Vulcan also. It is a JSMO rated oil, so all is good there.

Anyone have info on the new 2016 Indian Springfield?

Congrats. They are a looker to be sure. I had a few "what the heck" moments when reading reviews and such on the bike though. Its a touring bike (sorta) and the GW has cruise, so why in the hell would you not make the bike with cruise? Saw a matte finish sort of like yours and a guy added some neon or shocking green graphics to it on bags and fairing. Nothing huge just sort of like pin strips but angular swoopy style. Looked sharp and caught your eye. -

One point on the heat issue between the Roadmaster and the Springfield. the Roadie has the lower leg fairing I believe. If they are anything like the XCT Vic you have to sort of "learn" how much opening actually cools behind it vs wide open. You would think more opening would be better. But alas I can confirm no it dont work that way. The Springfield has no lowers so should be much better in that way. The Kawasaki Voyager is still the nut roasting king from what I read. The price on the Indians once you get to the bigger ones is shocking to say the least. If you want to try a V-Twin again wait for a dealer demo day and try a Victory Cross Country. the Visions I have rode I think the engine heat is better off than my XCT. I do find it odd the Indian dealer offered a low ball on a trade though. I dont buy cars/trucks/bikes with the intent of resale value, but you would like to recoup some of your money. Had a Harley salesman run the BS of better resale yada yada past me once. I told him I wasnt using it for retirement investment. -
Chris, did you get the previous owners name and #. He can be some good info on maintenance and things of that sort. Looks good, and I always liked the blue ones too. I would say the wife misses the pillow top seat the most on the Victory. So much that I ordered a Drag Specialties pillow top for the Vic. http://asset.lemansnet.com/edge/0/8/1/08101542.png?x=381&y=381&b=ffffff&t=image/jpeg

I loaded the Raindar one here a couple of months ago when someone posted something about "favorite apps". I also have used Rider X which originally was a Victory App. but it is not like it was when first came out either. Accuweather is main one on phone and I also have wundeground. This winter I loaded a wind chill app to just for a reference. Brenta wind chill.

guys I am looking for a luggage rack that actually goes on a HD side hack. but looking around I have seen similar ones on like a velx or something like that. Anyways I think possibly any of the "classic" styled side cars rack would do. HD dont make the rack for theirs anymore and I can source one. I want to mount it on my Victory Cross Country. The big HD tour pack ones are just to large I think. Here is a pic of the side car one mounted up. Thanks for the help.

When you turn on the lights, does it slow down? Then you have to many lights because the gen has to work more. I had a Suzuki GS 1000 I had aircraft landing lights on the front for driving lights. I couldnt run both because they were such a draw on the system.

Pull the crap out and see if it will run with out it.

If we know what model of beast we are talking about it would help immensely. I would have to take a poke you are talking first gen, as there is no wire to the battery of a second gen past the positive and negative cables. If it was a second gen I would say look towards the fuel pump maybe.

Plenty other roads are good, without the danger of some big truck is trying to kill you. Cherahola Pky, Moonshiner 28, The loop around Fontana Dam is neat. Drive over Franklin to Highlands. -

Yea Puc I dont get the dealer network thing either. Vics have a limited amount of dealers to start with, compared to the T-shirt company. Some Victory dealers are also Indian dealers, but not all. Here is a couple excerpts from an article just released from Roadrunner Mag. We found the Springfield to be a well-made touring machine, with a torquey engine, comfortable ride, and quality components. Chrome plating, fit, and finish are all top notch. The Indian Springfield is available in either Thunder Black or Indian Motorcycle Red. Retail pricing starts at ,999 for Black and ,549 for Red. Add 0 for California emissions equipment. It comes with a two-year unlimited mileage factory warranty and includes free membership in the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group for one year. As Yogi Berra once said, “The future ain’t what it used to be!” The tank-mounted instrument cluster crams a lot of information in a small space, including a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), cruise control indicator, tachometer, electronic speedometer with odometer, fuel gauge, dual trip meters, clock, and more. The dual driving lamps are standard, as is the cruise control, and it works well. Standard front and rear highway bars allow mounting of accessories and offer protection in a tip-over, and accessory leather highway bar wraps provide a vintage look. The Springfield can be further customized with a full line of accessories, including tall and low windshields, heated rider and passenger seats, soft lowers, and heated grips to keep comfortable in cool temperatures. The optional color-matched accessory trunk adds 17 gallons of capacity for serious touring. -

I rode my venture from Florida I think field elevation at local airport is like 45 ft, up to Charlotte NC, then thru the NY Finger Lakes region, to outside Toronto, back thur WV to Fla. No issues with bike sputtering or anything that indicate some carb issue. I would try to stay in front of the HD as it is easier to dodge parts and oil film. lol As far as Dragon goes, make sure your insurance is payed up. Last time I was going to ride it, I left the lower end there @ restaurant and made first corner when a Jack Azz in a big rig came around the corner and ran me off the road. I'm done with it until they put those ba$turds in jail. There are huge signs telling them not to drive that road. If he would have killed me he would have never stopped, because he saw me go off and kept going. Sorry to go off there a bit. Can you tell I'm still pissed? And it happened in Oct 2015 -
Dont let the lack of highway pegs worry you. I think I have a set in the garage I can make a deal on. I loved my pillow top seat as did the boss.

Glad you got a scoot you know some background on. Tastes and styles change for each of us. Long as you keep riding and hopefully check in here, enjoy.

Swapping rear tire next week and I am wondering
djh3 replied to Mad Dog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I always removed both bags and both mufflers. More room to work and less weight to jack up. Loosen clamp, and then sort of wiggle the end of the muffler in a small circular motion and gradually get larger until it has some movement to come off. -
A book comes to mind. Unsafe at any speed. Dunno how much I would trust a stranger's fabrication skills.

Another LOTTO ticket?

The kit I got (less the on/off switch) was about a 30 min job once fairing was split. It included a relay along with the harness. If you found a time delay relay you could swap with the one supplied with the kit in be done in maybe an hour and half tops.

Don a little more probably semi-useless info on the HID I have picked up. First off I think Flyin gave me the wiring set up for a on/of switch I used with a flashing LED to let me know I did not have headlight on. Worked great the entire time I had it. Anyways, the headlight has only so much life on it. And it is somewhat based on "starts" of the light, that is on cycles. So if you flip key on and light comes on then goes off because of voltage shortness then when bike starts light comes back on. You are doubling the amount of starts on the bulb. They are kind of like a carbon arc torch and its hard on them and burns away at the filament.

No problem sweetie. what color would you like? Link here. Or you could go with the new Polaris Slingshot. Its almost a convertible sorta kinda.

I had put a Shinko 777 on the rear of my RSV a year our so before I traded it. Liked the grip and wet traction. Mileage was looking good @ probably 6k or so. -
You got to wax a boat? Man I know I absolutely dont want one of them things. That would take away from riding time.
