Looks great. One thing I notice is some states make you put a tag as big as the trailer on it. Crazy I mean my 6x12 Cargo trailer yea, but a little bitty MC trailer no way that trailer should cost as much as a big one. LOL When I lived in Oklahoma, if a trailer was under like 3 ft high you didnt have to put tags on it. Law was made to keep farmers from having to put tags on wagons and stuff.

Potential Newbie but Needs it Lowered

Another way to lower it for free (except your work) is to lower the front forks in the triple tree. You can lower them about an inch before they will hit the fairing. It actually helps the handling of the bike as it levels it out and you gain about an inch to inch and half at your feet. The Barron's links you have to also install a bracket that moves the caliper so it does not hit some suspension part back there. Knowin what I do now, I think I would go with a Tour Deluxe. Only thing missing is radio, and with the Sena and blue tooth stuff thats easily over come. -

Not doing near as much long haul riding as I did 2-3yr ago. So I think its more a "neat to have" thing now. Might use it once a year. Our heat index (feels like temp) has been over 105 for a week or more here. Temps actually 92-96 but the feel like has been blow torch hot. I took a 3 hour trip up to see Steve Wed and was not bad going up. But coming home I sort of got loused up in Kissimmee and detoured around cost me an hour or more. The feel like was 115 around 230-300pm. I thought Oklahoma was hot when I lived there. Maybe the man up stairs is just getting us ready for whats coming in November.

If I can get a chance tomorrow or next day I will see if I can draw up a sketch of how my trailer was done. A friend built it himself for tent camping which we did also back then. Wife sort of requires indoor plumbing now. It was a bit taller than wide and was made so when you flip lid open it would double as work, prep space. Can you get aluminum welded? Or you convinced you want to go with the old frame? -

Boy when I started reading about all the heavy stuff like Generator and big ole cooler I got scared. I figure the bike was designed to stop itself at 900# plus to riders figure 400# maybe? We all know there is some fudge factor there, but that extra weight pushing you, you really ned to figure for and practice. I pulled a trailer with my GS 1000 and it took some getting used to. Sometimes the tire tracks it runs in will foul you up. Like if the road is sort of rutted IE: car tire tracks worn lower than center, it will sway a trailer sometimes. I would go with the lightest trailer I could if your packing all that stuff. I miss BrakePad -

So this just released. With the troubles some of these folks stir up, do we really care if they wear a helmet? Looks to be plenty of padding.

I had a similar way I quit. Was sick in bed 3 days with Flu. When I finally could get up and motivate around, I picked one up about to light up and said" Well its been 3 days wonder if I can go 4" Congrats your on your way.

29K I had 2 maybe 3 rite at max. Still with in limits just at low end.The rest were all over the board. So I put the ones that were at one end of scale closer to high end. The valves have a tendency to "pull" themselves into the head and clearances decrease. So I went thru, measured them all at least twice probably 3 times and reset all the ones I didnt like. More to middle or larger side of gaps. I had a bag full of shims so I could do this. For the most part I have read of fellows not checking valves until 40k and still not have specs out. Very few that at say 25k and were messed up. It is quite a chore to do. You will feel like your disassembling half of the bike to just get at the valve covers. Be sure to measure the shims, dont rely on the markings on the shim.

Ace High Leathers saddlebag lid covers modification

I bought some lid covers for my XCT. 2 reasons, first being someone (I wont mention whom) scratched the lid on the RSV while getting on. The other reason was I needed a place to add a little carrying capacity. The Victory ones have loops on them so you can run a bungie thru them. And whatever you strapping down wont scratch the lids. -
We had upper 70's the last couple days too. Only ours were from like midnight to 5 am.

Kit on my local CL has one going for $1300. Fits the V-star line 1300-1900 etc.

Better to be lucky than good sometimes. Wife and I were in Daytona for Spring Break on the bike. The day we had to travel home it started sprinkling as we were leaving. Looked at radar on phone and decided to just gear up. Good thing as it rained kind of like your saying for a good 3 hours on I 95 south. I don't think any rain gear can keep you completely dry in those conditions. I just hope to keep the drawers dry.

Like your mom always told you sit up straight. LOL Yea I know I bet we all sort of get the slouch after awhile. I have a back brace, one of them stretch velcro jobs I will wear and it helps me. I was going to check into one of these back braces that was suggested to me. The folks on the bike forum I was in communication with gave it good reviews for eliminating lower back discomfort from riding. $50 and a 30 day free trial, so as McCloud use to say "there ya go". For me the down side to the back brace is it's hot around your middle and no air flow.

So have mounted them up under the fairing. I took the lower left trim panel off the leg fairing and mounted up in there. It was pretty much out of weather and worked well. Be sure to wire them up with a relay.

Checking valve clearance

Jeff, I have a bunch of basically non usable shims laying around. Like high 200 to maybe 305 or something. Is there a economical way to grind them down, heat treat and reuse if a fellow knew a machinist fellow? Lucky for me the Victory dont have valve adjustment to worry about. -
