You talkin about the nut roasters? The Victory Cross bikes are pretty bad about heat there also.
-
I'll pony up to this. Happens more often than I would like to say. Mostly on this old lap top I'm using right now.

I'm on a couple other touring sites and guys seem to like them quite a bit. I know guys on the iron butt thing like those and the BMW and Kawasaki similar models for racking up the miles. Hope you enjoy it.

On the left side where the cables for all that stuff run, look for a flat or pinched spot. If it is transmitting without the button I think it may have a pinched spot and be shorting out. Under the fairing on the right side is a large bundle of connectors for all the comm's

for $100 and you can tether it to phone and have always updated maps... Well even the Fonz would think thats OK. Funny you mention updated maps. I have evidently s#it canned mapsource and the ever annoying base camp off my PC. Probably when I updated OS to Win 8. Anyways I had received a 2016 USA North America update, but had no idea how to update on my Garmin. A couple of videos both said import via SD card. Heck I didnt have any of those big enough for the file. So a little more searching and found a useful video on how to do it. Really simple once you know which file you are looking for in the Garmin itself. I certainly like your large easy to read screen.

Nope dont think so Dan. I'm not even thinking about it.

TJ just joking around man. I bet I have not seen maybe half dozen of these things since started importing. Saw a couple of the other ones that look like the Suzuki M109, and around here there are a couple older guys that have the little 250 jobs. One guy even decks out in chaps, leather vest complete with patches etc and full face helmet. LOL Oh well to each his own.

Yup my Garmin 765t can be difficult to see in some situations also. I like to wear a brite yellow long sleeve wicking type shirt while riding. It helps keep cool, sun ff my arms and is good visibility. But the refection onto the screen makes it impossible to see at times. I even have you nifty screen cover thing. Maybe a longer one? With the Victory no way I have enough room now to think about a huge tablet to use for nav. On a side note I did finally figure out how to update maps on my Garmin without their software so no running at least a 2016 map vs 2011 or 12 whichever I had. This after a complete run around in Kissimmee on a trip back from seeing MA61Amech

OK so now I'm confused. You still talking about this Hyosung thing or a Harley?

Also something has to be done with the rear caliper if it has had links changed. I forget which way, hopefully someone can refresh my old memory here. I am about 32 inseam also (at least that what britches are) and I lowered the front end 3/4" in triple tree. If to do again I would just go the full 1", easier to measure. It levels the bike out as it seems Yamaha designed the thing wih the but end lower for some reason and it dont really hep the low speed handling. Oh and on your handlebar search be sure to know if you have to change cables and hyd lines along with those.

Yea I knew it was a way old thread. Not trying to resurrect it or anything. I figured there was one here already, why make a new one.

Yea I have seen the ads also. Looks interesting.

LOOK at the size of that tail light folks!!!! Yea I thought they were Chinese too.

Potential Newbie but Needs it Lowered
djh3 replied to BG Hawks's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
All I lowered was the forks in the front. I had digital calipers and measured from top of the triple tree to I think a ridge at top of fork tube. Came up with same measurement and locked it down. -
So this was just posted oveer on the Victory Fourms. Wondering if lately anybody has had issues.

$3300+ for bags And you thought the T tops were pricey. Need a hitch and trailer. LOL

I liked looks of those when I was looking to get back on 2 wheels in 07. After talking to a fellow that actually had one for sale and telling him what I had planned he talked me out of it. 2 up touring was not its strong suit, same reason he was selling and moving up. but he did say one up even with gear was a decent road bike. Heck most of us rememeber when a 650 was a big bike. Other than HD when I was a kid Triumph/BSA and them only had like a 650 or 750.

Yea we sold something on CL. Guy came back with "kell BB says" I said well if they have one buy it.

New Version of the VentureMp3 SD card player available?
djh3 replied to videoarizona's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
AHHHHH Now I remember !!!!!! Can not find the female connector so the bike side can plug into the I-simple. So that being what it is, I think a fellow could take this plug and you would have to cut into your bike harness and solder up. Unless you want to spend days looking over on Digi-key or Mouser looking for connectors. -
Headlight lamp replacement.....
djh3 replied to Semi-retired's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I ran one of those for a few weeks. Then the more I read about the wire size for the headlight I got worried I was over taxing it. They are pretty measly wires for a headlight. So I went HID after that. I really liked the Sylvania 100/80 I had in there. I found it less fuss to just change the bulb from the back and not split the fairing. Didnt seem to give me any extra room really to change it. -
Dang it man I hate electrical. but if I am looking at the schematic correctly, the right front "socket" as it were actually grounds thru the left. It looks to have a "jumper" wire that goes over and connects to the left signal. Soooo as Steve has said the right side is finding a ground, it just is not the one it needs. Bad bulbs will do it if the filament gets burned out and just happens to fall onto the other good filament. Which is what sounds like happened to him. My problem with front lighting on my RSV came from opening the fairing up. I had to lower (drop) the fog/passing lights. that wire bundle had the turns & fog/driving light wires all bundled up together. I did not get them pushed back up exactly where they needed to go and got pinched in the stop. Then it was all kinds of fun. Put fuse in all is good. Couple days later poof, no turns. Then maybe a week or more goes by poof no fog lights. Right under the center lower part of the fairing is the connection for all that. They are just bullet connectors. If dealer was in there very good possibility pulled something a bit loose and you finished it off.

A few years back I had 8 weeks off I didnt plan on. First couple weeks I was like a kid on summer vacation. by the 4th I was looking forward to going back, well sort of. Glad your doing wel enough to go back. No pay sucks.

Sounds like you were short shifting the heck out of it. When she started to wind up you plunked another gear. LOL
