  1. Yup in PM he sent me I mentioned you. So you may be getting a note from him.
  2. I never had any vibration problems. I ran balance beads in them also. Line up the dot with the valve stem and everything was fine. 10k might be a bit wishful, but your mileage may vary.
  3. new tires always feel better than the old ones we take off. So when I go to look at tire reviews I disregard any that are like "just put new ones on and man they feel great". I would hope so.
  4. a few of us can fabricate stuff. Depends on difficulty. Post a picture of what you need made, and describe changes. then someone can get back with you.
  5. WOW And I thought it was just something in my computer last night when it did that.
  6. Yup all speedo's (unless stated as certified-think police) read high-fast. Usually by something like 5-8%. Once you ride with a GPS or find out how much the difference is you can bump it up if you want. Mine was like 75 indicated was 68 or 72 I forget now. My buddy had a Heritage Softail that was just about dead nuts on, GPS 70 his was at bottom part of that line. As for the gauge and light, never really got that all figured out completely. Light on I was looking for a station. 900# is a lot to push. On highway run until it coughs, flip to reserve and look for exit.
  7. Shoot, thats as much as they get for a full size travel bag that goes on the luggage rack. I would like to get some of what he is taking though. lol
  8. Have good about HARP. But my son and his wife are not really upside down, but they own more than what house really is worth. But because of what is owed, and what they make they miss by a few bucks of qualifying. I dont know the whole story but because they are both gainfully employed, pay bills and support themselves and kids, they cant qualify.
  9. It can be a good deal. It sure helped me out when I needed it. Just need to get good info and weigh it out. I get probably 3 or 4 mortgage things in the mail every month.
  10. Tom I dont know if VA is "always" the best way. I did my first house thru VA, but I did not have any equity or money for a down. There is "points" and also the house has to qualify. Stuff like roof cant be over like 3-5yr old, has to have certain inspections etc. Try your local VA assistance folks. Cant think of the actual name rite this second. But they should at-least be able to point you in right direction if a VA loan is what your needing or a standard mortgage would work.
  11. I never have understood this mentality by the hoodlums. I think the first time I remember this kind of crap was summer riots in Detroit back in the late 60's I think. Then Katrina in Louisiana was a reafirment those people just need to be cleared out. Dummies breaking in stores stealing all sorts of stuff. I could see food or something, but the jerks I was seeing were stealing big screen TV. Hey Clyde, there aint no electric dumba$$
  12. Life is all about choices my friend. The wife and I always get a laugh out of the Harley chicks on them things with long heals on the pegs and figure they will break an ankle or something getting on or off.
  13. I ran the Tourmaster on the RSV. I thought they were OK. I only had maybe 5-8k on them when I traded bike, but tread was still very good. I am thinking about Shinkos for the Victory in the SE890 I think it is radial flavor. Have read a couple bad posts on them, but most things are good.
  14. Here is the other one I could not think of.
  15. Art class at local high school or college?
  16. Hey I was looking thru some sale e-mails I had. Check this bag out from Jafrum. $40
  17. I have a Dowco Rally Pack I use a lot. Its made of the dennier material which I like better than the leather looking stuff. Check out Leather up.com and Jafrum.com Both have good prices on travel bags. Leather up has just about every configuration of bag you could want. I have picked up 2 good pieces of travel gear of my local (sort of) craigs list. I got a huge cortech tank bag for like $50, and a first gear roller suitcase bag for less than $100. I think I could actually haul more stuff on the 900 Vulcan with soft side bags and luggage rack with the travel bag than I could ever fit in the hard bags and trunk.
  18. I just looked at the old J&M set I have. I think the biggest problem might be getting those big ol speakers in that hat. Here is one I had in running until I got my Mag9. GMax gm675 This is similar AFX FX-50 same style with a sun visor. Just depends on what exactly your looking for. I like the visor and now that I have an inner sunshield I'm liking that as I dont have to have sunglasses.
  19. If its an insurance thing yea dealer or a shop. If its on your dime look over on Mutazu. Somwhere I have another company but cant find it right now.
  20. I hope all works out for him. I'm tellin you all. The man up stairs has just about had it. All this mega heat everywhere here. The impending dumba$$ election with no choice and now you got frogs looking for life rafts. It sure could be a warning folks.
  21. While not a 1st gen experienced guy, on my 2nd gen I did have a couple brands. When I got it had Dunlap E-3, I think the previous owner did not watch tire pressures very good. The wear was funny and they picked up the same type feathering you are mentioning and got to howling. Also in wet the no tread center made them dicey. I replaced them with Michelin Commander 2's, I got over 17K out of them, they still had OK tread but I was getting ready for about 4k+ trip and thought it smart to get new ones. I went with Shinko Tourmaster. Decent enough tire, good wet or dry and good price. I normally go thru Motorcycle Superstore. Good prices and if its over like $90 it ships free and they will price match.
  22. SHHHH Not so loud. She might hear ya. $1600?? How da heck you get that much? I cant seem to find $16 bucks.
  23. Rick, whats added that you dont like over the Mag 8? The 8 has a visor, clear face-shield. The 9 has same with addition of a built in sun-shield, which I really like and one of the reasons I was looking at them to start. I cant think of anything added. If your using a SENA it is a cleaner fit than bolting the unit to the side of your helmet.
  24. If I didnt know the different models somewhat, a fellow could think its a new model. With the way some of the sport tour bikes are coming out, it does not look that far off. I have always been a function over looks kind of fellow. I like the looks of the 1st gen and the Kawasaki Voyager (1st version not the behemoth one now) I like the new Voyager but for different reasons. The first gen Venture and Voyager just have crisp lines. Probably explains why I like the Vision and my XCT. Sharp angular lines.
  25. I think your looking the right way to start. Eliminate the easy stuff that dont cost you anything first. The connections at the solenoid and the starter. Solenoid is on left lower side under the passenger foot board. Also look at the main 30amp fuse there. Mine was corroded terribly and caused me a no start problem out of no where. Double check the mount bolts for the starter. I was just thinking, if its not bolted up tight, it wont get a good ground and would arc.
