  1. Yea I would like to buy new OEM parts at used discount prices. But never works that way for me. Coils are funny things. If you think you can rig up a auto COP rock on.
  2. Looked into it a few years back as I had more miles racking up then. My brother in-law has a business where he drives a lot also so he changes oil pretty regularly. For us it still was not enough of a price break to compete with Rotella @ Wally World. But if it works for you great. I think prefered gets 15% dealer gets 22% or something?
  3. Hmm My 105 Victory dont have that problem. Looks to me like the Motor Company is just thinking ahead. Kind of like motors in the past with hyd lifters. They run 30k or so. Then you tear down the top end, cut the push rods and put in adjustable ones, sold of course by Flaming Eagle or whatever it is. Shoot they just rot fined a couple million for selling non-epa legal stuff so got to make up the difference somehow.
  4. So...... You get it put together yet?
  5. OK that was'nt even hard. Here is one @ bike bandit. About $49 ea index #1 . Try this PN 30700-MEL-003. Here is a listing on Amazon.
  6. I used a auto center punch to put 3 or 4 holes towards the top of the filler neck as mentioned. It will allow air to vent out as you fill the tank. Otherwise once fuel gets to the baffle or whatever they call it, air backs up in tank and you have to wait for it to "burp". Mine would run about 175-185 on road trips before I had to switch to reserve. If I stopped close to swap time was about 4-4.5 gal. Most I ever put in was lie 5.9, and I was sweating bullets the last 25 miles or so.
  7. Has a ramp on rear to drive into cargo space.
  8. We have talked a bit about selling the house and going RV full time. Go across country and work here and there. She says there is some kind of network of workers that typically work at the camp grounds for a couple moths and then move to another and work for them. I guess you get your spot and some tiding of money for work. Man I just dont know if I could go from the size house we have to like 400 sq ft. Something like this is what we are leaning towards. Previously owned of course. I still think if I can find someone to pay me for one of those blog things.........
  9. Have. Ot read a bunch, but have got that info other places too. 720 seems to be fine, most say actually if do 1080 if actually makes it more grainy and looks out of focus. Thanks for the info. One of my issues is trying to store videos while on our trip next month. I did buy 3 32gb cards, but thats lik 8hr or something. They give you 10gb of cloud space, but dont figure thats going to do much for me.
  10. I very seldom changed pressure in mine. Only when we were going 2 up on a trip with gear. For that I can change the setting with an allen wrench. So far my shock on the Victory is still good. But I do read they have a similar problem. We use to run Penske shocks on the open wheel car that had remore can for air. Dont know why Hagon or one of the shock companies couldnt do that.
  11. Made an offer on one @ $49 and was accepted. LOL I dunno what the heck I'm going to do with it. but it looks like fun to film rides. plan on figuring it out and taking it on our trip to NC in Oct. I ordered 3 32gb cards that supposedly will last about 2 hours ea. They allow me 10gb of some kind of cloud space somewhere. If there was a way to transfer straight to a portable hdd i would take ours along. Not planning on taking a lap top.
  12. from a commuter Kamakazi. Pretty jittery but I think its mount and Canadian roads.
  13. Any one using the Ion Sped Pro? I'm kind of drawn to thin one over their other version because it has a jack for remote mic. I looked originally at their S3000 model I think. Basic decent cameras. but when I went to looking at some videos made on them on bikes they were terribly noisy with the built in mic. I have found the Speed Pro for $60 new. I like that it is water proof without buying a plastic box to put it in like Go Pro.
  14. I would say diesel if possible. But you need to do homework on the power strokes. They had a couple versions there that had bad cyl heads and I think the other version had injector woes. Cummins is the way to go imop. Class B is basicly a conversion van. Not much room in them puppies. The C is built basically on a heavy duty 1 ton or larger frame/running gear. So mostly gas engines there but you can get the V-10 in them.
  15. You need to add one. I learned this when I started to work in the racing field. "Behind every good train wreck, there is an engineer" I thought it was a good series. Ford sure wasnt presented as "playing fair" either. I'll bet Edsel Ford cringed for many years every time he saw a servicar on the road. Meter maid, ice cream car, post office etc.
  16. How far south? And to where?
  17. LOL No such thing when your part time. Only 2 of us instructors and I sort of put my .02 in for the second week in Oct to go to NC. I am trying to find something to do next summer on my time off.
  18. I kind of went the other way. For whatever reason the XCT light seems better than the RSV did with a halogen bulb. I dunno maybe the way the reflector is made better or something. So I went with Silver Star Ultras in hi and low beams. Then the other day I got to thinking about maybe putting the modulator back in. So the one I had I was working with ah uhm I dunno what went south but magic smoke started to come out. So I found a signal dynamic one on ebay for like $25 bucks and installed it. Have LED driving lights mounted down by floorboards.
  19. Ya know I kind of was wondering about that the other night when they were showing that on late news. Thats a lot of gas that blew up. We are soaked here, but not like over Barry's way.
  20. I forget what the bike was, but basicly like a Roadstar. the guy mounted it to the frame by tank and steering head. Painted black to blend in. Heck until he told me where it was I didnt even see it. Look for "slim"ballasts they are less then 1/2" thick and maybe 3x3
  21. Puc man you sound like my brother when he was alive. I was stationed out in Oklahoma. One day I get a call and he's on the line. "Whats shakin?" Told him just working etc. "Hey my buddies and I are laid off for a couple months, and we are taking the bikes out west wanted to know if we could stop by?" what am I going to do tell my brother I aint seen in like 12yr or something no? I said sure man give me a heads up. The lived in Detroit and I think was at DANA then. Few days later I get a call and the are about 3 hr away and coming by. He tells me they have been camping your style there. Rest areas, picnic tables road side parks etc. Man I dont think today you could do that, someone would stab you or something and film it for you tube.
  22. They sell this type down here. Seem to be popular with the 4 wheeler crowd. down here they call them Redneck Toy haulers
  23. Well sounds like so far so good. ey Barry when you all going and where?
  24. Sure hope you all are doing OK. Looks like this hurricane is getting stronger and is a real rain maker. Spots around Tampa are reporting over something like 15" rain in just a few hours.
  25. Got ya covered. I'll PM you
