I have used yahoo for years. I have a hot mail and have not noticed anything fishy. Also have the manditory G-mail as I have had android phones and that is how I get any apps from app store.

Seems to be a bunch passing away at end of the year here. But ol Charlie Manson is still hanging on. Hows that figure in?

I'm glad I'm not the only one to ask this question. I do have the first half of that month off.

Now might be the time to buy tires.

Big key. To remember on tires guys is load ratings. That's kind of where I'm bumping the wall now looking. The Michelin dont come in the correct load rating and radial. Same with Mettzler and Bridgestone. So Avon and Dunlap is about it. -
He said has Mr Gasket pump installed, so its solid state no points or contacts. I have not heard of a Mr Gasket going bad but I suppose it can. I vote vent problem. The hose for it is rite under tha black surrou d for key. You and disconnect it and maybe a piece of vaccum hose and blow thru to see if clogged.

Valve Shim Kit and Tool?
djh3 replied to samklr650's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey Jeff. After the holidays and the post office get back to their semi-normal operation I could send you some of these big thick shims and you could trim them down for guys. I'll have to see what I got but I think I got a mess of around 300 -
Some big fender washers, RTV sealant and eye hooks placed in right spot you can mount a hammock inside, fold it up when not in use. Harbor freight has some loading ramps that if you get some like 6ft 2x10 and bolt them up may be long enough to load it up. Or scrounge around you may find a loading ramp off a u-haul around.

Valve Shim Kit and Tool?

I like it. I did several of the dealer demo days before making the move. Mine is a 2013 Cross country tour. It does have some excessive heat around the rear exhaust pipe to me. But I can live with it. For me it was a matter of the top heaviness. The XCT is like a sport bike in the corners, now its not quite as plush a ride on long distance as the RSV was. Storage about the same, I would say the trunk is a bit more usable on the RSV as the angles on the Victory make things tricky @ times. So here is a link to some shims off e-bay. 25mm is the size. In the listing it tells what else it fit. I found some cheaper by fishing around for the Honda I think. -

Same shims are used in several other bikes. Honda, Triumph, Yamaha FJ1200. I dont remember but if you put it in a search on E-bay, usually it comes up with which bikes it fits. I think I gave $6 or something for last ones I had to buy. I got a bag full of them in tool box. Unfortunately a bunch are the 300 range or something unless its a new head, I'll never use. Lucky for me the Victory is Hyd lifter. I was able when I did my RSV to check them all, the ones that were out of spec I pulled the shims out to see what was in to figure what I needed. I was able to swap a couple around and only had to actually purchase 2 shims I think. -
Steve, look up "rebuilding power tool batteries" on you tube. I just rebuilt one of my Dewalt batteries for my drill. Would be much easier for a fellow with your soldering skills. You can buy ni-cad and lithium batteries off e-bay for reasonable prices. Jeff most places that sell batteries, the way they check them is a capacity check. So.... If it has enough warranty left that its not going to cost you as much as a new one. If it is "bad" now get it replaced while you get some $$ off. Now it will have to check bad and be dead, but I think your smart enough to figure out how to make that happen.

You my friend need to buy some lottery tickets. Or maybe not, because I think you used up your lucky streak. 14yr on any battery is exceptional.

Yup and lots of part time help to. Not say they are bad folks, just maybe not the responsibility of the full time folks as they are unemployed after holidays.

My rear E-3 on my Victory 180/60R-16 is got the feathering on edges going on that happens as they get wore out. So I have been shopping around some. Bike has radials on it and If I had to replace both I think I would just go bias ply. -
JC Jipme use to sell some sort of X1 battery recondition pill you put in the cells. I dont know if any of that stuff works. I guess if the plates are corroded it could, but if they are broken like most batteries short out, no chance. But its basically free, so your not out a ton of cash.

I am not a fan of FB. It has caused way way to much drama in my little world. So and so dont have me friended so I can see pictures. Or how come so and so dont send me pictures. How come our kids will tell their friends on FB about such and such but not me? My pat answer is I dunno, call them and ask them not me. CRICKETS

Yea could do that too. Typically I dont ride in sneakers as I mentioned. Just one of them things I learned way back when assisting with MOST course on base. We were required to wear over ankle boots. I also always tuck the laces in the tops of boots. Another military thing, for inspections they didnt want strings hanging out looking bad. Plus I later learned they are less likely to get untied if tucked in.

I had an "OH S#it" moment the other day. Was coming home from work. Got into my neighborhood and came up behind a school bus. They stopped and I was slowing and putting my foot down and.... OH crap it was stuck and then came loose. I seldom wear sneakers and now remember why. Besides no ankle support the laces are really long. Damn things got looped around the shifter and I couldn't get my foot down, that is until it pulled the loop out.

Anyone have experience with these LED replacements
djh3 replied to Midnight's topic in Watering Hole
Dont think those PAR 36 bulbs will do you any good. Flood design so only going to show up say 15 ft. Also the color is only 42 so thats pretty dim on spectrum. On the headlight, what I have read and seen you need one that you can "adjust" the beam around so it fits your reflector best. Like most things, you get what you pay for. The Truck Light jobs do the best. But you have to refinance to afford them. ID is probably best for headlight I have seen so far. -
Here is a couple thoughts. As mentioned those bikes are notorious for one pad wearing more then the other. Swap at each oil change is good practice. Now the brake pads are a bonded type. Which means the material is sort of glued to the backing plate. Now if it get worn way down the material can get dislodged and then its metal to metal. Also the pucks are only supposed to go out so far. If all the material is gone off the backing plate, it could be just far enough the seals get out of the range they are in the bore and wa-la, leaky leaky I had my brakes fade out on me 2 up going down a mountain road. They got overheated and had not been bled in a while and must have boiled the fluid. SO a word to you would be to flush all the hydraulics every year. A few bucks and maybe an hour is worth it.

Once again I say. There should be NO life preservers @ the gene pool. If your gonna be stupid, ya gotta be tough.
