djh3 replied to Du-Rron's topic in Watering Hole
Obviously the Yamaha focus group didnt read our forum's here. -
Safety issue- ignition relay definitely saved my ignition switch
djh3 replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
I will get you a new one fixed up shortly. -
Most times those plastic grills if "installed" can be removed by cutting or drilling of little plastic nubs on back side of speaker edge. Marine speakers are probably the way to go, but I remember seeing over in fix side of forums.

I had an "Oh $hit" moment a few years back on the RSV. Never had any real problems except the occasional rear lock up. While in the mountains following a SUV he was on the brakes so much I kept catching him. Mine got hot and boiled the fluid. Scared the bejesus out of me. So pedal went all spongy like had air. I used the mighty vac and emptied reservoir then ran probably a half bottle of DOT 4 thru it.

Since I had to change jobs a few years back it has killed my free time and getting out to ride anywhere it seems.

Just dawned on me what I had read back when I was looking at the 66. Some info I read said they didnt have a long life on heavier bikes.

You can buy replacement rubber ends. I had to buy some last fall.

DOnt own any fire arms other than a .22 Remington my mom gave me when Step Dad died. My son has a 9mm carry. His father in law on the other hand uses a 45 acp. He might as well just holster that up as a side arm as you aint hiding that thing. Plus I dont see it as very portable or stealthy.

Ran Pirellis on my Kawi 900. They were OK. My RSV had e3 on it when I bought it. They got noisy at the end of wear and I didnt care for wet traction.

I got the J&J thru the VA. I teach school in college and have some high schoolers in there too. My arm was sore for maybe a day, then the pain kind of moved around the arm and elbow areas. When I was in the service We had to take all kinds of vaccines for stuff. Flu, typhoid, cholera. Typhoid and Cholera always kicked my butt, but always muscle pains. I went to shot clinic and another fellow there got his and while in the "wait" period he passed rite out and got stomach cramps or something. My guess is maybe a different manufacture or something his body didnt like. My wife had maderna and first one a bit sore, but second she was really achey for a dy or 2.

So the tire is a little more than 2.5 years old. Has it been used all winter or set for months?

Engineers ahhh There's one of them behind every good train wreck.

Have seen this for awhile now. Shoot back in the 80's I think Caddy started this no spare thing. Anyone remember the "inflate a spare" GM . Little skinny tire and a can of air to blow it up. My son has a Scion. He had put those aluminum lug nuts on his wheels. Well 2 dissimilar metals dont work well over time. They were those 12 point special socket jobs. Twisted a couple rite off. Then your down to a close fit impact socket and hammer it on. Good thing it was in his yard when it went flat.

Fuel pump diagnostic procedure?
djh3 replied to SilveradoCA's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Check fuse, or could check voltage at pump (DVOM or test light) IF that looks good you can pull fuel line off and see if it pumps fuel with a decent amount of pressure like 5 psi I think, more than a dribble any who. -
I suspect there is some big changes in the future down there. I read 2 stories about the fellow that built those 2 towers. There was lots of innuendo of greasing of palms. Mostly having to do with permits and time delays. But if those are overlooked, whats to say an inspector could be shown to the concrete that "meets" specs while some other maybe suspect.

Yes At work we have discovered Dodge has managed to circumvent the rules to OBD2 and have something called a "secure gateway module". It will not allow a generic scan tool to connect even to the basic engine controls as was the law when OBD2 came out. So now you have to buy an adapter, find the friggin module as they do not put it in the same place on any 2 vehicles and basically jumper it.

Initial video had me wondering to start with. It looked extremely like one of those implosion deals. Then the other day this video shows up. Looks like it was falling apart and pieces fell down and pipes broke and its all down hill from there. You see the pics the pool contractor published a few days before?

Well was about 4 hours or so. But man they have it jammed in by the shock and you have to disassemble the unit from the bracket and take it all out separate. But that is after jacking the bike up and taking apart the push rod and shock and rocker. But its mostly back together. I just got plain hot with 100 heat index and only have tank and seat to put on. High point was the tank only has about a gallon of gas in it. That has to be a first.
-
Engineers, what a pain in the @$$ I dunno who designed where to put the unit on the Victory Cross bikes but he needs to be shot. If you think the RSV bikes were odd. The Victory mounts the module in the frame by the shock. So to change the dang thing it looks like I'm going to have to remove the push rod and possibley the shock, just to get at the dang thing. Probably 8+ hours of work. Argh At least my troubleshooting skills did get it correct and it is the module.

Passing Lamp Questions
djh3 replied to Runhot0576's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mine were on a dedicated relay and switch. Never had an issue with law. Pretty sure if they stopped you for those lights being on you could apologize and be on your way. I run high beam all the time here in Fla and a modulator on the low. -
I'd like to make one of these things. I need to check my school start dates. Oh and check with the boss and see if she would want to go. Then have to worry about sleeping accommodations.

Passing Lamp Questions
djh3 replied to Runhot0576's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Argh Danged if I remember how I did this. But pretty sure I found it in the "tech section" for second gens. I had mine wired so they were on no matter which light low or high was on. Look here and there is a reference to a section "read only" -
Opinions needed about Bluetooth communication
djh3 replied to Pro procrastinator's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I have SENA s10 I think they are. WE have had them for a few years now. I like I can share music, and occasionally use phone. I have used the phone feature a couple times, and my son says it works better than the one in the car. Hard part about wife being on is when she does see something she says " oh look at that" But no direction or side for me to look so its a bit of a guessing game. And when I tell her I try to give heads up but she sometimes has a hard time figuring it out. But it is better than the tap and yell deal. -
I would look at Lowes/ HD or your local hardware store and check out some parts. Even Tractor Supply has a isle of what nots you can find something.

Picked Up A Nail
djh3 replied to N3FOL's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I had a similar puncture on my RSV once. About 3 to 5k. Picked up a bolt and angle sucked. Lucky I was right by a maintenance shop for a sod company. I had the C02 inflator but it couldnt even get enough air in it to start to inflating. I had to put 2 plugs in it to get home. It was about a 3/4" hole, that tire went by by.
