Irma is going to cause some S#it no matter where we are in Fla. How bad remains to be seen. I have some provisions and a gen. Being in middle of state gives me some relief. But this thing is like 300 miles across. If you aint out of the state yet your behind the curve. I dont think I'm bugging out. Saturday will give me some info I hope.

Yup my Victory is the same. Has QD release on all the components, trunk and bags.

Had to laugh when I read this. What you mention as Ugly or terrible is what drew me to the Victory. I would have bought a Vision, but the bags were very small despite what they look like from the outside. My XCT has the small angles turn signals true, but they put out more light to be seen than the OEM RSV big ole round Harley knock off ones. I loved my RSV on the open roads, but around town was a bit tippy. The RSV "style" of the second gen could double for a Ultra Glide so not a lot of "ground breaking" design going on there. I have not seen the new Venture up close yet but so far I like that it looks "different" than everything else in that market. IMOP they could have went V-Twin, but should have went liquid cooled. But that is why Honda makes GW, BMW has their version of a touring bike and so on. To each his own and I'm way to old to get buggered if someone dont like my scoot. I dont care what you ride, long as ya ride.

WOW I got one of these troubleshooting problem threads right finally. -
When I saw the video someone else linked I saw the one scene of the fellow riding by (the rest was leather clad harley look alike stuff) I thought WOW a Victory Magnum. OH wait they dont make those anymore. I like the idea of no trunk my self. I think I could pack more gear on my 900 Vulcan with soft bags and a luggage rack, then on the Venture or the XCT. But the boss likes the trunk for short trips and being able to toss helmets and stuff in there easily.

Quit your braggin. Summer is rite here alive and well. 93 today with heat index of 102 or something. Sure hope when we get this place painted and fixed we can move up that way. Doing a bunch of supply gettin for the hurricane coming.

Many times the "extended" warranty has a reduced coverage. So say the factory 1 yr covers front to back. The extended, may not cover clutch components as they are a "wear" item. Even if it completely goes FUBAR. And it ends up being say the springs or diaphragm not so called wear parts.

Regulator/rectifier regulates voltage at or about 12.5- 13 or so vdc and changes from a/c voltage to dc -

Set volt meter to AMP setting. Remove a battery lead and install meter and see if you have more than like .5 amp flow.(bike not running) If so something is "stuck on". R/R if bad I believe will suck voltage from the battery. -
OH CRAP They wired this one like the second gens with all the lectrics running thru the ignition switch? Well guess I can still make a few bucks makin by-pass relays. LOL

Short of a full face everything will be a compromise. I also wear prescription specs. I have a pair of lighter colored wrap around sunglasses that work well in combination with my 3/4 Bell Mag 9. Amber lenses are my choice in low light instances like rain or night if I have them. But very few shields are made in that color. Good luck in your search.

Try an Autozone or Oreily's. They have some tools they will loan out. -
Sooo What about the poor fellows that have one on order? Your going to "give them" $1000 yamaha funny money to outfit a top end bike that you have their money tied up on. I'm thinking Indian may pick up a few sales on this deal. So wonder if they are still doing the scheduled test rides.

I will bet probably within 5 years or so maybe 8 an air cooled motor will be a dinosaur. Like the 2 strokes unless they keep cyl temps up to burn emmisions which air cooled just cant stand the heat. Thats part of why HD went to liquid cooled heads.
-
I have no idea what makes it work. Magic I guess. Solid state no contacts I presume its a timed circuit. Wire it rite in on the wires from the OEM pump. Prices are different depending on where you source it. I needed one "now" and my autozone had one. If I could have waited I would have looked around more. There is also a "facett" brand pump that has a check valve to prevent flow with out the pump on. It is pricier than the MR Gasket but thats why its FAA approved for aircraft.

I really like my Victory Cross Country Tour. But one of the sore points is the heat off this oven. For those not familiar it has lowers like the RSV with some storage in them. But they do have vents, but funny thing is you would think wide open would give air flow to cool better. Not the case, you open them full on and it actually heats up around your legs worse. So many of the guys in summer remove them, its only 3 clamps on each side. I have had mine off for maybe 2 months now, MAN what a difference. Much more pleasurable. I'm not even sure I'm going to put them on this winter. I don't think the HEAT has anything to do with enjoying your touring. LOL As far as shorts on any motorcycle if your gonna be stupid, you better be tough.

WOW Nice looking scoot. Looks as good as a Goldwing. Looks all smooth and space age and flows. Kind of like the Vision. Hope she likes it.

Silver, how you liking the "little 6 cyl"? Mine is the old 12 valve stick. But anything I have hooked up to got moved with out a problem. 2500 is what I have. Fellow I bought it from hauled a 5er with it.They aint as fast getting going as a v 10 I'm sure but power you cant beat. I have been looking @ the Ford F 250 but would have to stay with a 2010 or newer in the Powerstroke as I wouldn't want to chance getting a bad previous edition 6.2 or whatever it ?is. Glad your getting to do some traveling and visiting. Whats the plans for the winter -
If the switch in fact the culprit, you cant simply jumper those wires (the 2 main ones). AS the ECM is feed thru the switch also. If you don't get continuity thru the switch, I would open it up and see if it can be cleaned up. If not I can make a by-pass relay kit with a option to use a generic auto switch that is about $20 from a parts store. It can be made to fit the OEM surround with a couple big fender washers. Usually the switch can be cleaned up and then install one of my standard by-pass relays and change the load path and they survive decently after that.

We shall see. If the deal is straight up is anyone interested. If it sounds fishy I have no money in the game so will walk away. My guess is the guy wants 20,000 and missed a zero.
-
Not that Im interested, but I emailed the ad to see if the price was correct @ $2000. So we shal see.

Back when the "mini trails" first came out had a kid in the neighborhood that got a orange colored CT70. Probably the first "motorcycle" I ever rode. Then another buddy got the 4 speed Clutch model in green. Boy was that a learning curve. LOL Many times I picked myself up after the bike went over, sideways and dumped me or what have you. Now they have these Grom things that look sort of that way, but I guess are street screamers.
-
Yup they did this a couple months back. All kinds of forums guys have pics linked and all you see is a notice that they need to update account.

While it does appear to be a nice unit, that is way more than I think the market will bear. I found this 2010 Voyager for less money, less miles and more goodies. I know its a V-Twin but ....... Here is a 90 model over in Sarasota with 23k. https://sarasota.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1990-kawasaki-voyager/6269547714.html Asking 3k
