  1. Most alchol free gas I have found here in USA is 90 octane. I can get some 110.......if I take a can to the airport.
  2. Dang had this nice thing all typed out and........ old streets and trips, it does not support GPX files. The last version of S&T is like 2012 and they want big bucks for a copy last I looked. So I have been using TYRE Trace Your Route EVerywhere for years now. Hers a video on making a GPX file.
  3. Be good to see ya again Steve. We should have looked you up when we came over for bike week. But it was middle of week and only spent a day or so.
  4. OK folks Bluebeard and I are throwing a meet and eat out there for Florida. Will be @ Yalaha Bakery Looking at 11 AM for lunch. YALAHA BAKERY - Lake County 8210 County Road 48 Yalaha, FL 34797
  5. Yea I think it is pretty much to only get music from onboard intertainment into a Sena. Left-rt channel and a common.
  6. I would start with something already out there. http://www.hitechwireless.com/template/images/sena/SM10/faq_cable_diagram_SC-A0120.jpg I dont see them reinventing the wheel on something like this.
  7. I like streets and trips too. But unfortunately it does not convert my routes to GPX files. Now it is an old version 2009 I think. But I dont think the newer version does either. They discontinued that program in 2013. TYRE works well. I will have to go investigate some more. But I wonder if you can back door it so to speak. The HARMON will only accept 5 waypoints from what OP is saying. But I wonder if route points show up different. At least I think they are called route points.
  8. Base camp for me was a very good reason to drink excessively. Never did get it to be reasonable for me. I dont know if it will work, but if the unit will read gpx format try a program called tyre. Its free.
  9. Well I understand there is a firmware up date in the works for the infotainment system, but dealers have been told to wait as it has some bugs. Have you checked out some of the other forums? Maybe some GPS forums? Trying to remember who I read made it Harmin or something like that. How many "trips" can you load? May be such a thing as you will have to load several trips end to end. Which to me sounds like a PIA.
  10. So how close are to comming over the boarder? IF someone here in the US paid $160 and it was $300+ in Canada, Id make a weekend trip down south and schedule a trip to a dealership to get one. Or can one be had off ebay?
  11. AH there ya go. Check the ground @ the cig lighter. Sounds like the ground there is loose. I ran a 12v to 5v step down converter. Just need to know how much voltage etc your GPS needs. That cured my hum. Then I ended up buying the Garmin cord and direct wiring it in.
  12. I think it actually in Australia. I didnt even know they had a salt flats there. Anywho although I dont want to crash at any speed It dont look really violent. Sort of fell over then got up in air. It does have a roll cage etc, but the landing had to hurt.
  13. Those bikes I think the key is either down low by like front forks and gas tank? Or is it by back of seat by side cover? At any rate make sure you only have one maybe 2 keys on the ring. Bunches of keys put to much tug on the tumblers and can kill the contacts.
  14. I had similar noise. So your GPS I am guessing is plugged into your on bike speaker system? Or are you Bluetooth GPS to your helmet? If that is the way your doing it, try charging up the GPS and try it out with GPS on battery power and see if it still has interference. If it still has noise and is "wired" to speakers than will have to look into where your out put wire is running. If you are wireless and battery power and it has noise then its going to be an ignition noise.
  15. Depending on how handy you are if the contacts are burned, they can be cleaned up and switch still work IF you reduce the load on the switch. The switch is kind of a weak link in the electrical distribution. I have a fix for it if that turns out to be your issue. I make a plug and play relay that makes the heavy load by pass the switch by using a 30-40 amp relay.

    Tires

I was going to say check out the Shinkos. Michelin was a very good tire for me. I also ran a Shinko and for the money the shinko is a definite player. If they would have made one in the size and weight rating I needed for the Victory I would have went with one.
  17. Yea dont figure rite, but when the air fuel mixture goes out of whack MPG goes nutz. Now typically a lean condition will make an engine run hotter than normal. You said when you spray rpm goes up, so that tells me it is not getting enough fuel to make complete combustion. Or fuel is maybe old? You said you had someone sync carbs rite? I'm trying to run some of this thru my head to think of some ideas.
  18. OK theres a start for ya. With all the air cleaner etc in place, spray a little carb cleaner by the parts that connect the carbs to the motor while running. If it picks up RPM then you have an air leak there. That would cause the motor to run lean.
  19. Look around the site. They have different size clamps. You might look on e bay too. Mine are similar to those but are looking pretty bad. Chrome peeling, fasteners rusting. So I just painted them a black hammered paint. Somewhere I have a pair of 1 inch clamps too I think. These pegs have been in like 3 bikes. Lol
  20. Not to turn this into an oil thread, but........ I like Rotella T6 syn or Mobil 1 10w40 and summer I would run the V-twin 20w50 if on long trips. I think the Synthetic oils hold up better in motorcycles than the dino oils. Obviously the trick here is going to be to get them free.
  21. If I remember he has a 97. The wiring I have no experience with. But if he can get the switch loose and check it out some things how many wires etc. We might be able to figure out a work around.
  22. It may take a little homeowrk to find a clamp that will work in tight quarters. Depending on how much room you have. I know the 2nd gen didnt have much and my Victory dont either. But I have a pair of the kurakyn bigger pegs. Would something like this work?
  23. Hmm someone was looking for suggestions for mowers for his large piece of property he just gained.
  24. I'm kind of in your court Steve, with the start system. But I also have a question about the "back up" fuel pump. Where did it come from? Why did it come out if used? Have you maybe checked the points.
  25. Carl, would running some sea foam or something like that thru the motor help break up the gunk/shellac ??
