  1. Well I know mine was not the most accurate thing in the world. Would take long time to come off full, then pretty normal but the last bit went pretty fast. But the light was always accurate. So when it came on I was lookin for gas. Now you say it has sit for quite some time and you just got to ride here is what I would do. Reset the trip meter, and fill up. I'm kind of thinking the more you get the float to move around a bit it will get more accurate to a point. Maybe there is some build up that after the sweep moves over it a few times it will clean it off. Just a theory.
  2. I forgot. I need to go find the second headset I have around here.
  3. Our family had to make that decision several years back for my wifes dad. We figured man if the suggestion came from us it would be an up hill battle. I think it was my sister in law took him to one of the places we had looked at. She took him for lunch and he met a few folks and on the way home said "when can I move". We were pleasantly surprised. We think it extended his life and certainly his quality of life by years. He enjoyed the "community" of folks his age and experiences.
  4. I'm not much of a firearms guy. I bet I can count the amount of guns I have fired on 1 hand. I learned on a 22 Remington bolt action I think 5 shot. I now have a Remington semi-auto that is like a 5 shot clip or something. Heck I dunno I aint seen it in 5 years or more. When I worked on the farm we had some sort of old single shot .22. Then I entered the USAF and had to qualify with an M 16. Later on during Desert Storm I had to requal with the M 16 (got expert ribbon with device) lol A few months later due to job specification I had to qual with a hand gun. For me that was scary. We used some old 38 revolver things that probably were tossed in the heap after WW2. That gun for me was hard to get comfortable with. Have not fired a hand gun since.
  5. Let me look. I think I have a pair of J&M headsets I took out of our helmets when I went to the SENA
  6. We supported @ lunch with the grand kids.
  7. Spencer, I am currently in a hunt for a F 250 4wd. I have had a couple spied, and by time I could get in contact it was gone or when I got more info on vehicle it was not for me. We have come up with a philosophy on vehicles quite some time ago. If it works out and you dont have to jump thru a bunch of hoops, its meant to be. If it requires all sorts of rig-a-marrow to make it work, probably its a sign the man up stairs dont think its rite for ya. One of the worse cars we ever had we did all kinds of juggling to make it happen.
  8. Sounds like a warranty deal if steering bearings are loose @ 10k. But sounds like the trip went well.
  9. Michelin Commander 2 were great for me. Over 15k on the rear and heck I think almost 30k on front. For me the Dunlaps when they got worn howled like a dog at the moon in sweeper.
  10. I think maybe on the Delphi Venture board a fellow out in AZ had taken off the lower fairings and somehow relocated all the gizmos and ran without them on. But to me it would be a ton of work. Heck to take off my lower fairings on my Victory XCT is about an hour and half job to get clamps off and remount lights, and I'm to lazy to do that.
  11. Quit following those big trucks so close.
  12. Gave up on the blue fluid. Went with 2 stroke mix oil. Essentially it about the same as ATF. I had it and not atf, lol weed whacker saved me. Plus if you do suck the oil in no damage, anti freeze maybe not so lucky.
  13. If you are thinking about pulling the trunk off a RSV then you might as well go with the TD. For me the one you have pictured would need at least a windshield. For the wife a better seat. But it sounds like you have different plans if your going to 86 the trunk. We like a trunk to store helmets and such on trips. I honestly have not talked to one person with a TD that has mentioned the clutch hine. It has all been RSV owners. With the new Bluetooth comms available who needs the on board stuff on the RSV? Happy hunting.
  14. More left side wear theory goes to making left hand turns, say across traffic at a higher rate of speed then say a right hander to make a traditional corner.
  15. Oh my 8800 miles on a tire could get expensive if you travel much. From the odds and ends I have picked up on the rear tire is there is like only one manufacture of it due to odd ball size or something.
  16. possibly. If its to thin the shock can go up and down to easy so to speak. Some air pressure may help to not compress, but dont do much for you on the up stroke.
  17. Its the weight of the oil not the brand. I had a 2nd gen and went up one level on weight when I changed. I think OEM is 5w and I went to 10W. I let me not have to run air in front forks as the fluid is doing more dampening. As for the pogo effect, think of the shock as a cylinder. The piston has a hole in it to allow the fluid to go thru one way to slow down the action. Now thicken the fluid it dont move as well. So what has to work as suspension? The tire. To thin and you can possibly get it to aireate and foam.
  18. The IX plug may be the Iridium. Good plugs last long time.
  19. Here are a couple. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HANDXEN-LED-Landing-Taxi-Light-PAR-36-GE-4509-REPLACEMENT-FLOOD/162831503960?hash=item25e9839258:g:iuQAAOSwtnBa8wt7 https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200615334_200615334 Pop the light out and install in your housing.
  20. I took a black sharpie and marked the high/low marks. It helps you find the level quickly.
  21. I was servicing a fellows RSV and he had the Chrome looked to be after market OEM type. His filters were in ruff shape. I had replaced my paper OEM jobs with K&N so I though my old ones looked better than his so I was going to just swap them out. They would not fit the chrome housing. I forget exactly now what was different, but they sure would not work. Now mine was an 09 and his was like an 06. But I sure wouldnt think OEM to OEM would not be different.
  22. If they are the standard sized jobs @ 4.5" they are a PAR 36 bulb I think is what they call them. So any bulb LED or incandesant will work. Some have used the LED work lights from Northern Tool
  23. I just installed a brand spankin new Shinko 777 on the Victory today. I poured mine in by prying down part of the bead of the tire. Then I aired it up. I have tried the thru the valve core thing a couple times. Rubber Room time for me. Glad it worked for you.
  24. His daddy was a pretty fair guitar picker himself.
  25. Ya know my 09 didnt really have any whine to it. But I worked on a fellows 05 or 07 and it was really loud. Sometimes I wonder if its not how they are rode and taken care of early in their life.
