  1. Have to ask why your looking for something more off set. Are you meaning closer to grip? Clutch is hydraulic so it has to have a certain amount of throw. So if you found a handle closer to grip, it probably would not disengage the clutch.
  2. A contact on another board says its a mount for a Go Pro. Which was kind of my first guess.
  3. Puc, never claiming to be an old school bike fan but is the last red bike there like a 43 or so Injun flat head?
  4. I have had the Victory for a couple years now. I noticed this "holder" when I bought the bike, but just figured I would leave it for now. But can someone tell me what the heck this is meant to hold? Is it some sort of camera mount or something? It is back kind of on the side of the trunk.
  5. Yea I also built models when I was much younger. Drag cars, a few trucks (semi) no boats or planes I can remember. But I really was into the "short track" style stock cars of the day. Big tires that stuck out of the fenders full bodied. Had a bunch of them when I got married, but over the years of moving and limited spaces they have all disappeared. Still have a display shelf deal I helped build at a friends of mine dads shop heck got to be almost 40-45 years ago now. The wife has her dust collectors on it now.
  6. Don looks to me like in the pic its sort of the "black" chrome. Might see if a dealer or someone can give you a look see. Then there is always "the big ass" cup holder they make.
  7. I have not measured or looked it over real close. But from pics it looks like you might be able to do something like we on the Vic Cross bikes do.
  8. I have used a clamp on type drink hold for the wife. They run around $25-30 bucks. Here is some like I have
  9. So just had this conversation with a neighbor about sea foam. Yes I agree it is great for the fuel. But if it breaks up varnish etc, if its in the crank I think it would wash off the bearings and possibly cause washed out bearings.
  10. Hmm talk about a needle in a hay stack. Measure it up and see how big it is. Then maybe measure up some current production bikes that might have one that fits. Nex time ya walk by a Harley check it out. Just thinking if you try to go specifically the Yamaha one you could pay dearly for it.
  11. Had a fellow in a club when I lived in Oklahoma that had one attached to the wing nut holding tag on. Couldnt see it, so nobody knew it was there.
  12. Rick, keep us updated how you like it. I am not a fan of the wheel pant front fender or the fringe stuff they hang off some of them. But dont know if I like the fairing on the new classic either. LOL
  13. I liked mine around town. But on longer trips they began to wear on me. A 12 hour plus trip back from WV I think my ears rang for a couple days. Even with ear buds.
  14. Relay yes. Any auxiliary power dont hurt to to run that way.
  15. Yea they had something on TV about cops looking into using these. I thought, hmm what if a fellow took a spill off. Sure would want to clear the props on the way off. Or it could be hamburger city.
  16. Well didnt see "Victory" motorcycle oil either. However Indian had a listing. No Mobil 1 and a couple others that have been mentioned makes ya wonder. I just changed oil in my bike and container said JASO on jug
  17. Our cold front is due down here next week around Wed. Saying it should drop all the way down to high 60"s.
  18. I always found good deals on e-bay for pads. Just read what kind they are. I think I ran sintered pads on my RSV. Also tried the carbon jobs. Those seemed to really like some heat before they wanted to work good.
  19. When I first read this heading I was wonderin "why in the h3ll would someone want to eat them things" When I lived in Oklahoma we had some in spots, but it was like them buggers knew where the protected lands were and they camped there. What about BLM land?
  20. When watching the 6pm news we have a local car dealer that reminds us of the old late night guys. WE call him "Mr Huge". Its kind of his tag line. Well a few months back we noticed he didnt have any commercials at all it seemed. Nothing but political BS. A few nights back while watching the news and steady stream of political mud slinging ads I said to wife. Did you ever think we would long to see Mr Huge again? If we were to take any of the ads down here. NONE of these slheps are qualified to be in office.
  21. If I remember right the easiest to by pas to chaeck is the side stand switch. Funny I use to sometimes cuss the switch when I had the venture, but it was nice. My USA spec Victory dont have one and I find myself nervous everytime I put it in neutral and get off. The EU bikes have one.
  22. Well nuts. I cant find one now. Don what about one of those "flip out" type highway pegs. The ones I can think of have a plate like thing bolts to bottom of floorboard and the peg swings out and will fold back against floorboard.
  23. So to clarify the engine stops dead. Not a slow stumble til it quits. I would say if it is dead stop something electrical is getting hot and loosing connection. I have had ignition pickups do this on a car. If its the stumble to stop think fuel.
  24. I just loosened the pinch bolts on the triple tree and "sunk" or slid the forks up 3/4" inch. No tearing and disassembly of forks required. Lowered the front end and really dont change the travel. I do remember something about a clearance issue when doing this, but it was like a bracket or something minor to correct. You need to split fairing and loosen the bolts for the rear part of fairing to frame mount. I think I could probably do one now in say 4 hours.
  25. I currently have a 13 Victory Cross Country. When I test rode the new Venture in Daytona, from the ride I had no comparison. The Yamaha has very good sound. My experience is though anything above around 45 or 50 and the sound is washed out. I wear molded ear plugs/speakers on long trips. I also use a SENA for comm with wife. I had to build my own jack for the ear buds to plug into.
