  1. NOOOOO Those things are Very tippy overey. To short of wheel base and narrow. Your better of looking at government auctions and finding something.
  2. Get in touch with Steve K MA1a61mech. He makes all kinds of plug and play harness for different bikes.
  3. I have been stopped a couple times for a insurance check. Didnt bother me a whole lot. Once on the bike and once in the wifes car. I guess I am just use to it. 20 yr in USAF and they can stop you on base for anything they feel like. I aint done nothing wrong I got nothing to worry about. If they want to stop you they come up with some bogus crap like "you didnt stop for that stop sign back there". they run all the licence, insurance stuff anyways. I have no tickets showing for like 20 plus years, and this punk kid writes me a ticket. I'm like really "they guy on the bike is going to run a stop sign?" I grew up wearing a helmet, so its natural to me. I remember back when Gordie Howe and them guys played hockey without helmets, today a fellow wouldnt think of it.
  4. Sooo Someone figures "hey we need a smaller non-threatening beginner bike" to get folks back riding. Worked back in the 60's when it was perceived that only thugs rode bikes.
  5. Looks nice, but if you want a covered carrying area get an expedition. I kinda thought the Avalance was odd looking. This truck looks like those off road racer things.
  6. Cool beans. I find it much easier to use.
  7. Hmm Interesting where would a fellow look for them.
  8. No salt here. Central Fla or Ga would be good. But you probably have to stay away from the mountain regions of Ga. Depends on how big a truck ya want. Them little Jeep Me's go for big bucks anywhere it seems. This one not to far from me.
  9. Here is the link. http://www.tyre.tk/ If you can use google maps you should be able to figure out how to make Tyre work. If not drop me a PM and we will get together.
  10. If you dont have a program that can make GPX files and are looking to find a free one. Try TYRE (trace your route everywhere) Works well and for me way way easier to use then base camp or map source.
  11. Glad no damage to you all. Did the cage come back to see what they did? Unfortunately from what I have seen here, a first gen with barley bent case bars and some broken plastics is totaled.
  12. I have used Vacations to go to look for prices and narrow things down. We went on an Alaska cruise in like 06. Our cruise left out of Seattle and was an inside passage up and back. That cruise was on Princess. Nice ship, we had inside cabin didnt really know any different then. Now I think we would splurge and get a balcony. We have also done a Carnival or 2 here in Fla to the Bahamas and Cozumel. Carnival probably the least expensive, but it was like a motel 6 compared to the Princess. Our friends went on an Alaska cruise a few years back and they used Holland America and said it was very nice. WE saw them on the dock off and on and they look really luxurious. Our rep @ vacations to go was very helpful with recommendations. We were like 4 or 5 decks down I think from the main food deck. Never rode the elevators, A-they were either packed or lined up with scooter chairs to go up or down or B-we could make better time walking stairs. The added bonus of the exercise allowed for seconds or 3rds. LOL
  13. Does that mean your picture has been in the post office?
  14. Man I really have missed those Windjammer fairings. Those were the days you could "build your own" touring bike. I dont think anybody makes an aftermarket frame mount fairing now.
  15. Yea well now there is like an 80 degree swing in temps heading that way. Man thats hard to do.
  16. I would say if she is sure she want to ride. I think I would rather her/them go to a MSF course and get some tools. Unlike when I started, and as you mentioned way more peeps on the road now. Most states require a rider safety course to get your licence anyways. But if you can get them to a course first IMOP they may find out it aint as ez as pops makes it look. Or they will be infected for life. Heads or tails. LOL
  17. Dont remember the Pea Picker. But I had one of these.
  18. Puc, answer to the question approx 2500 degrees. As a fun fact Jet A burns @ 2700+ Where is our motorcycling community going? Heck HD and the others have been asking this question for a few years now trying to catch up. So far no answers, but whoda thunk Sears would be bankrupt either? I now am working in the College education system here in Fla as a "instructional aide" in the automotive section. Because I did not get the final few hours for a degree I do not "qualify" or whatever they call it for the higher pay. I have 3yr experience prior to military service, 20 yr aircraft maintenance on large aircraft, 20 years building race cars fabrication so on and so on, but for lack of a piece of paper the higher pay aint there. So at my rate of pay, if these politicians get this 15 dollar an hour minimum wage passed I guess I'll go flip burgers and make more money. I hate this "you owe me" attitude crap. And if I could ban cell phones in our class I'd put them all in a box when they walk thru the door.
  19. Looks like a bar stool with handlebars.

    type of oil

I have run it in my V-Twin Victory a couple times. It is full synthetic and I did a little research on it before I bought any. For me I run 5 or 10w40 oil most of the time. But I will run the 20w50 during my summer time change because here if I ride much the temps do get up there in central Fla.
  21. I got a couple pieces of aluminum tube the bolts fit thru and cut them about 3/4", add bolts a bit longer to make it thru the tube and it pushes the bar just a tick forward and you can get fairing off. A 6mm (I think) long ball allen helps a bunch too.
  22. Only the other night when I got to reading this did I think about the condenser thing. It really get the old noggin thinking about that. Might take a little engineering, but probably wouldnt be to bad. When mine gave me a couple DOA going up the road and the final straw was dying at a stop light in a turn lane. Then went solid state.
  23. Check Pinwall for what you need. https://pinwallcycle.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=venture+radio&search_in_description=1&__Secure-osCsid=73df097c5686ec23592a8863dfc6a991&x=8&y=7
  24. My last couple race cars we could run a proportioning valve to adjust pressure to rear brakes. Prior to that when I ran street stocks modifications were not allowed, so had to work a different route. One way was we would allow some air in the rear brake system when bleeding it out. The other way we would reduce the size of the rear brake lines by flattening them. Not recommended on the bike.
