  1. Nope, checked the pressure with my digital gauge and it read 45.5. Its rode OK so I figured to leave it alone. Tires were 40 front 40.5 in the rear. Thats taking for granted the gauge is good. Its worked fine for 5yr dont know why it would quit now. Shoot it even reads bar and Kg.
  2. Well got the lights mounted up today. About 2-3hr for the first and maybe 30-45 for the second. Lots of enginerrin on the first. I ran the wires down from under the seat area thru the tip over bar and out the hole in it to the light. Being as the lights are made for being on a trailer or something that has a ground, it only has like a ground strap inside that the screw is suposed to go into the metal body and also touch this ground strap. So I used a split wire end and slid it under the screw head. I thought pretty ingenious. First problem: where the screw goes ends up being in iterfearence mounting to the bar flush. So I had to move it towards the outside of the marker light and drill my own hole. Then I noticed the other mount screws would do the same so I had to move them. Of course you dont notice until you go to mount and wonder why it wont sit flush. These particular lights are a tick short, but I dont think they look to bad. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow. Got a couple more projects to try to get done. And I'm waiting on my rear light bar.
  3. Just tryin to understand you alls point of view. Sure would be nice if someone still made the crossover deal. I saw a couple links, but when and if they came up they were discontinued. Is there another source for the pump used on the front, or is Harley the only deal?
  4. OK but youll have to splain why if I turn down the inlet pressure to 7lb or so how will it be over inflated? I'm just havin a hard time understaning. Sorry.
  5. Hers a couple of options/ideas I have had over the last couple days. I thought about a special pump for the fronts, but more stuff to store cost etc. So on the gauge front 2 options. I have one of the small digital tire gauges, it will read .5 psi So should cover the low pressure thing. Option 2 I also have a tire gauge that goes to like 60psi and is marked off in pound segments. It is one I had for racing so adjusting pressures precisly etc, the reason I mention this one is it has ableeder valve on it so say you goe to 7lb and want to be @ 5psi you can let it down to that without the guess work. What about a tire inflator that has a gauge on it ? I have a regulator on my air compressor and can turn it down to say 10-12# put this inflator on and you'd know right where you are. Plus when doing tires I think it would be easier too. http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/grn/25836/image/4/
  6. Well, I just got cleaned up from doing the lowering of the front forks. MAN what a job. I read probably 5 different threads and all said it was an easy or fairly easy job. No such luck for me. I kept reading about once you get the front half of fairing off only 2 more nuts then is comes apart. Well either it wasnt said in the write up or I missed. But I dont recall anything about having to unbolt the bracket around the headlight at the bottom then you got to figure out how to get them screws on the back side that go ito the handelbars. ARGH, Then I had a heck of a time getting the forks to go up, they slide down fine, up was another thing all together. Well its all back together except the front part of the faring, I have acouple more things I would like to do while its apart. Mainly see if I can put my headlight modulator in. So to the part about this thread. So I got all the steering bits together and I'm sort of picking up tools etc I hear the mail man. So I stroll out to the mail box. To my suprise my risers are here. Figures I'd have the handle bars and stuff all back together. Oh well allways tomorrow. 1/27 So I installed the risers today. That took a little creative thought process. Man them wires/cables are snug. On my 900 when I added risers you didnt have to change cables but you did have to pull one fork tube down and slip the cables beind (under) the triple tree. I was considering that here also but I saw that the actual restriction was the throttle cable around the faring bracket. Something to watch for when doing this, when you are checking your full range of steering left and right. If you have the light bar check you wires going to that. Make sure they havent got in the way of the stops. I guess mine got over against the stop and somwhere between when I put it all together and made sure lights turn signals horn etc worked and a trip around the blcok and tight manuvering a wire got piched and blew the fuse for the headlight. Bike feels more comfortable from just the little I rode around the neighborhood. The bars are more comfortable and hard to tell on the lowering of the front end but I think I like it.
  7. Thanks for the info. My list of things to get done is growing. Lucky for me its in the 80"s. Ah aint life grand.
  8. Well I know this is kind of old thread but a good one none the less. I appreciate the info on the differnt lights avaiable. I just picked this on eoff e-bay. Looks just like one I saw pictured in on e of the post about this mod somehwere. http://d3d71ba2asa5oz.cloudfront.net/13000126/images/dscf1286.jpg
  9. Ah heck, I'm about dead middle between the 2 stores, its been in the 80's. Need I say more? Just ordered a light bar for the rear like is in on eof the "poormans lightbar" posts. @ $17 I figured I might as well get after it.
  10. They do, they are moto cross helmets. Well thats what we did anyways back in the dark ages. There wernt any full face helmets. Bell had just came out with their first ones called a "star" I think. Anyways I have an EXO 100 and it works well for me. I like it. I also have a Bell Mag8 3/4 helmet, that now I have the Venture its what I put the intercom stuff in. My state is a "helmet optional" state, but yet if I'm in the cage and dont have on a seatbelt I get a ticket?? Waz up with dat?
  11. Yea silly aint it. The amber has dimensions and a fair discription. The red on the other hand must have been in put on a Fri afternoon about 450pm. I had one in my hand and the package said LED. Now heres a chuckle. I have 2 AZ stores about oh 8-10 miles apart. Each store has 1 red in stock on the display. So if I decide to use these I have to make a trip to both. That there is stupid I dont care who ya are. This appears to be my best bet. I sure hate to think about spending $50 for the J&P ones. By the time I got shipping thats about what I'll have in it. Besides, these have "chrome" around them
  12. Well yea I can see that too. If its not on a relay, I'll fix that when I split the fairing doing my "wish list" I'm working on. It seems its growing. I guess if I am going to wire in a relay I might just as well fish a dedicated power wire under the tank huuh?
  13. Last year when I had to go up to Daytona in July I went up US27 from Sebring to north of Clarmont to CR 561. Then over to SR19 and then to SR 40 over thru Ocala forest and commin gout over in the Ormond Beach area. Nice ride not alot of traffic except the couple small towns. My downer was it rained on me almost all the way.
  14. Ok so I was board today. I opened up the fuse box and checked things out. I pulled the headlight fuse (15a) and made a jumper type wire deal so I could plug it into the fuse box, then plug the fuse in and then run it thru the multi-meter. With headlight on no aux lights was like 8.9amps, auxs and headlight on 9 something, I dont remember all teh draws now other than with high beam on and aux lights on I was under 12a. I want to say it was like 10.9. So I think I'm OK. Now weather or not the aux lamps are wired thru a relay I have no idea because I cant see that far up in the fairing. But when I split it I'll look. Geeze I hope so, because as far as I know this was a dealer installed option at time of sale for PO.
  15. Darthandy, This fuse block idea interests me. Where can you get one? I thought of this reading the post. If everything is controlled off relays, what if you used the "acc" wire under the seat that is controled by the key to power the relay trigger? Then the relay would only be powered with key on? Am I thinkin rite?

    Goin bionic

I'd want to see the part first and make sure it didnt say "made in china". My brother in law just had his done right before Christmas. He had some complications with bleeding but he said it was an alergy to the pain meds. It wouldnt let it close up around staples so it kept bleeding. Doc held of an extra few days to see if it would heal up before he let him go back to theropy. All is good now other than he is a wekk or 2 behind on the theropy stuff, and because of not being able to do any he is stiffer than would have been I think. None of it good I dont think, but the alternative is hobbling around and limited mobility. Good luck with your decision.
  17. Is there any pics someone knows of of what all is being removed from the reflector mount. To me it looks like 3 parts. The reflector, then like a facia or sub mount and then the actual part that attaches to the bike. Am I right? I spent about 3hr in town today trying to find something that works at the local auto parts stores. I got one at wally world that is like maybe a 1/4 to long, then autozone has one that is maybe a 1/4-5/16 to short but does have a chrome bezel around it so dont think it would be to terrible looking, and a simular light at discount/advance auto. Well a little more research here at the house and the net. This is the light I found at Autozone. B485r http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/bli/B485R/image/2/ The measurements are 3 3/16x1 1/16 I think. Actually the web site says 1 1/15 but I dont think there is such a thing. So if this is correct it should fit just inside the rime of the part the refelctor is in.
  18. Yea I dont know all the law number etc, but basicly lights to the front are yellow, and anything past like half the distance to rear are to be red if on as marker lights. Ambers are OK for turn (ie: the european invasion back in teh 80's) But if its on as a marker or running light in the back needs to be red. That way when the cager looks up after dropping thier phone from texting they know if they are going to run into or over you.
  19. Knocking the idea around to see if I can localy procure some clearance/marker lights to fill the bill. I was in the W store last night and they hd 1 on the rack that looked like it might work, but it was only 1. I think I'm going to do the rear lightbar deal that has 11 LEDS in it and 3 are tail light and the rest can be hooked up for brake. One of the listings for a part that worked was a autozone part no longer carried. But I think I found the other one they are using on an e-bay auction. To do the side rear marker lights the way I read it is you peel th current reflector off and then drill your mount/wire hole in it and run wire up/thru tip over bar and connect.
  20. Thanks thats what I need. Part number to compare and options. I bet I looked a maye a half dozen write ups we had here and I dont think any of them had valid PN.
  21. Oh MY. I could see much adult beverages and alot of head scratching in the near future. You got the number for Doc from back to the future?
  22. The smart phone (dumb operator) was my hold up. My internet was a goofy there for ablut 3 days. I thought I posted once and , well my phone connection is less than desirable at the house. I'm just glad someone else is getting the flack for now. It takes the pressure of me.
  23. By chance a part number for the LED's from JP? I was looking at the side reflectors today thinking a guy could find a clearence light that might fit right into the slot if you could take the reletor part out.
  24. Looking at the part diagram and it aint great it looks as though the part your looking for is a 1201420 cord, extension (bike bandit PN for reference) looks to be around $77. If the wire is good and just sort of missing the end, possibly Buddy Rich who makes an adaper could locate you the connecter and fab you up a repair. Or maybe turn you on to what connector you need and you can find it and fix it for a whole lot less than the $80-90 it will run you.
  25. Ah yes mid 80"s today. Just another day in paridise. I will admit the "extra" drivers we get down here in the winter months can be scary. Heck most of the time its the idiots texting and using cell phones that get me. The blue hairs just like the left lane @ 45 till thier left hand turn comes up............ 10 miles down the road. Good thing is they signal in plenty of time blink blink blink
