I have talked to a couple gouys on the Kawaski fourms that are using them also. After discussions over there thats why I went with the 765T. For the difference in cost between this unit and the motorcycle specific ones I thought it was a good buy. I also bought the extended warranty thru square trade for less than $20 for like 2yr.

Hey I know its an old thread, but I have looked thru them all trying to find info out on top rails for the saddlebags. I looked at the yamaha ones listed, not really what I'm looking for. If someone is using rails that fit another bike can you list the make model and years please. I like the style of some I found on e-bay that say they fit a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500. But I'm afraid the extra drop on the rear of it wont work with my bags. Yea and is there something wrong with military green???? I managed to get off with a few pairs of those when I retired. We usually just rolled the excess down so they were'nt so long. Winter time we put those inside a full leather glove. Worked pretty good. Most of the pairs I had when I got out I wore holes in the finger tips as the leather is pretty thin. I have seen the same glove called a "tank driver" or something glove. Looks teh same but probably the Mil Spec is a bit different, but we wouldnt know. I have some fingerless gloves I wear most of the time, but also some mechanix wear gloves that are of the heavier material more like a lined glove than the "standard". I also bought a pair of "water proof" gauntlet gloves that are suposed to be more of a winter type glove and water proof. Well I proved that wrong last year going to Daytona. It raind so @#%1 hard I poured water out of them at one stop. Well I guess they were'nt all wrong, it held the water in.

Unfortunatly probably the only "cost effective" trike conversion would be one of the "add on" deals. I dont really know who makes them but I have seen a few around town here. You still have the motorcycle wheel to drive but it has what appears to me like training wheels. Not my bag. But if your a couple years out, I think I would look for a Can-Am. I have talked to several folks on the road and on stops up in Tn and NC in the mountians. I have not heard anyone say a bad word about them. Met a group last year in Madison Ga that one of the gals was on a Can-Am and the rest of the group was on HD Ultras. She said she got better fuel mpg and never got left in the dust, and a few spots she managed to leave them. The first coupel years of them should be comming down in price now. Only down side to those really is all the bags and touring equip was extra so not alot of them got it added on. Now they make them in a regualr touring model. 883 Harley's are about a dime a dozen now too.

I was trying symothing else experimenting today with the intercom. So I put the nirtle glove finger over it (mic). So next time we both go for a ride we can try it. I'll try to remember to throw some info back.

Richie, if you think the cockpit is small on the Victory you'd better check out the HD ultra close before the wife gets to "in love" with it. I have some friends that have the HD and that is one of the wives complaint. They felt jammed on top of the driver. They are a big bike but the room for driver and passenger is limited.

While this bike is not the exact thing your looking for the model is. Its a honda 750 four but its automatic. As you know the ole Honda 750 4 were bullit proof just about. Well I'm definatly limited on my electrical skills. But I was intregued by the heading. lol I do have a couple questions though. If its a belt drive lathe it should have different sized pulley's or a "gearbox" on the unit to change speeds. I dont think your going to find a DC motor to fit this thing either. If you do you will have to run some sort of converter for it to run. Is this currently a 220v motor and single phase? 3 phase? 110v (standard household plug) Just fishin for info.

I just put a stator from them guys in my Kawai a couple months ago. I got gaskets here. It was best price I could find.

Dont know for sure but as long as your making some sort of payment to them it "shows" your trying to pay it off, as far as a collection agency or credit score. May be a slow pay, but who the heck has like 10K sitting around to just cough up. Its up to you but I know I get those "checks" in my credit car bills. You can use the check to pay off balences and they give you like 8-10 months before they charge you interest. If you worked out a deal paid them and then made absolutly sure the credit card deal got paid off say a month early that might be a plan. Just thrown ideas.

I think I'm going to try the ballon over the mic trick before I throw $140 at it. I read on one of the threads here about putting a ballon over the mic and then the sock on the boom. I dont currently have any ballon around the house, but I do have some nirtle gloves in the garage that may serv the purpose.

Royalstar09: good choice on a GPS. I have one too. I studied for a long time before I bought mine. I was of the "I have navegated a long time with out them gadgets dont need one now" thought. But it sure as heck was GREAT this last summer. I was on a Kawasaki VN 900 and bought a RAM mount for the unit, I have since transfered it to my RSV. A buddy of mine in NC took a 2200+ mile trip (for me anyways) from Charlotte to Ashland Ky over to south Cincinati then down to Knoxville (via I75) then down the Dragon and for me to Madison Ga and then back down to FL. Of the 2200 miles I think just about 1000 or so were interstate. We ran alot of back roads and let me tell you, there is no way I would have been able to read a map in my tank bag, make turns and be aware of up comming road changes safely like I was with the GPS. I only have a 4gb card in mine right now. When I went looking for a card the fellow at the store said anything over the 4gb would be a SDHC or something and probably would not recognize it. I dunno if its true but we had a simular deal with a digital camera. For my trip I downloaded a free program called TYRE (track your route everywhere) For me it was the easiest to understand how to work. The map source and base camp had me pulling my hair out. Anyways I sat down with google and pluged in my start and destination then kind of "bent" the route to where I thought I wanted to go on Google maps. The nice thing is most of the time you can look to the right of the directions and it has a little orange guy or something, it means there is a picture. Click on the orange thing and it shows you taht spot so you can tell if its decent road or not. I layed it out in seperate sections for every day. Some of the roads we were on in Ky were really cool thru the old tobacco country roads. I had it on at first when we got to the dragon but I turned it off as it got distracting telling me to turn, turn yea yea I know. the 765t with the traffic was helpful also when I was comming into Athens Ga. That place has a confusing road system of inner and outer loops and to boot there was a reck somewhere and the GPS warned about it. Cool. AS far as weather proof, same as KA zip lock and rubber band. I go with the heavier type freezer bag. I figure if its raining hard enough I think the GPS is in trouble I aint running that fast I need the GPS. I got some velcro cable tie things at Radio Shack to tie the cables to the handle bars and tie up the excess power cable etc. Mine are all black. I might have got them at Harbor Freight too. Good luck with your unit. Have you been to http://forums.gpsreview.net/ good place for info on all GPS units. Just look your type up and searchaway for your info. Just checked I only have a 2gb card in the GPS. It does play for about 4hr though. Maybe I'll just stay with the smaller cardsa and load different types of music on the cards and make it easier to manage. My other MP3 player will allow different folders say rock, country, oldies and you can either shuffle from within those folders or shuffle all. I dont know if the 765 will do this.

Goodness that diamond plate just looks heavy! Years ago we had a friend of ours build a trailer. I think it had like 8" wheels on it, a place for the cooler, Was 1x1" box tube mostly. Prob 2ft wide by maybe 4ft long 3 ft high, the lid opened from the front to the center and was maybe 3/4 length to the opening. When it opened it folded back so you could use it for camp stove, or making food etc. We camped mostly on the bike back then. I even pulled it behind a car a few times. I first worried about the being able to lean with a standard 1 7/8" ball. But never had a problem with it binding. You alls trailers look pretty stylish guys.

I think my headlight modulator has helped me out a few times. You see someone pull up and roll almosst thru the stop sign, then they hit the brake and stop. Anly thing I can think of is they saw the flashing light and it drew thier attention. Other option is handle bar mounted paint ball guns. They cut you off, plaster thier windshiield. That may get thier attention.

OH YEA big 10-4 on anti sieze. I just did the plugs in the wife Durango. 110K I had one so locked up inthe head it broke off everything but the threads. Had to ez-out, then chase the threads. What a mess. Glad I was right on the recomendation thing. Whats your take on the plugs like the Bosch double platinum or platinum 4 type withe the gaps you dont set and oposing electrods. I'm still undecided. Dont know if its just an expensive "gimick" plug or if they work.

Down here where I'm at add in the "blue hair" crowd. I agree with the A piller thing being part of it. I know my pick up is wide and has hid stuff on me. But you have to "want" to pay attention to whats going on too. Most are worried about facelook or tweter or something earth shattering like that. I have sat at a stop light before and watched the person next to me fiddleing with a phone paying way more attention to it then the task at hand. After they sit a few moments tap the horn sometime. Alot of the time they will simply hit the gas before ever looking up at the signal. Its especially fun when the law is next to or behind them.

I have rode them the last 2 yr they have had the demo tour over in Lakeland. If chash was in hand I'd be riding one now. Also rode the Vision, but thats one of them bike you either like or dont. At a stand still it feels heavy. The XC dont. I thought the XC had plenty of power, but at the time I was on a 900 Kawi twin. For the money even though they are pricey I think the motor company had better be looking for the cross hair mark. You get more standard features for less on a Victory.

I can see this going the way of an oil or Dyna Beads thread. Not an engineer but I think the main difference between say the copper-Platinum-Irridium plugs is life span. The top two may have somewhat of a better burning spark. Milage gains, dont think I would be looking for anything worth changing plugs just to "gain" mpg. I know some folks that work on race engines and last year when I was getting ready to change plugs they told me to definatly stay away from the "gimik" plugs. The E-3, split fire and the like. I have personnaly used split fires and they worked good in some things and others they killed the coils. I had them in an FJ1200 motor used for racing and it killed the coils. Coincidence? Maybe but I aint going to try again. From my short time here I have gathered most of the guys will probably tell you stay with the OEM make of plugs.

I knew I wasnt alone. I guess I just needed to vent a bit. Thanks for the opertunity to do so. When you have been in this case a mechanic as many years as I have you have had some 8 ball things go haywire. When you get past it you get to laugh about it. I started working in garages full time back around 75. Those that remember GM had just came out with HEI. Well prior to that spark plugs would zap you but it stung pretty good but remided you to not do that again. Well I was working for a fellow that had, had a broken arm and they had put a pin in it. Being "old school" he grabbed a hold of a wire on this car we were troubleshooting a miss on and it blew fire I swear out his elbow to the fender. Several expectives came out of his mouth, he banged his elbow, then his head, then the elbow again all trying to get away. I personnaly thought it was hilarious @ the time. To bad no you tube back then. We had a cold beer or two laughing about that a week later. Thanks guys I'm likin it here.

Mine I would say are good. Its more operator error I think. I just picked up the bag the other night and started going thru them real quick. So I know there is some oil in the bag and stuarting the shims. So I thin thats where I'm off from the other night. -
I like it. If I was in the market for a trailer it would be on the list. I know you guys up north of the boarder got some different rules, but why in the world wouldnt it be legal? Double tranportation cost? Spring will be here soon enough and SC would be a nice trip? OR one of our good folks here would make a road trip down and bring part way back for a nominal fee, maybe a couple cood one eh? If I was north I would.
