  1. I told the wife when she had to go in to tell the DA "bring the guilty SOB in I'll give him a fair trial". but she wouldnt do it. I dunno, any more the convict would probably beat you home the way the prisions system is anymore.
  2. Have thought about the Cee Baily shield because I'm chicken to cut my own down. The baggershield looked like a neat idea.
  3. First off a discription of what model and year your working with will help out. On to the other problem. I'm guessing here you need a retaining ring of sorts to hold the "bulb" part into the bracketry is that right? I have been reading up on HID conversions and through those posts I have seen where some have went the LED route. Hopefully they will jump in with some info how they did it. In the mean time have you searched any of those posts to see if a write up was done?
  4. It appears the horn you have a pic of is a standard type wolo. Maybe louder but the stebel and the Wolo Bad Boy are the ones Carbon one makes the brackets for. I mounted my stebel up front lower left where the factory horn is. There are 2 of them, one on the right by passenger foot and the other is front lower left by your shifter under the plastic cover. The stebel is like 138 db dont know about the bad boy but its suposed to be close like 135db.
  5. Wasnt sure what kind of puller you were talking about until I saw the pic. I have used the same type puller for pilot bearings for a car with clutch. Dont allways work, but thats what your suposed to use. I too think I would go the autozone route. What is the source your getting the bearing from that work? With only 9900 miles I wouldnt think I'm anywhere near needing them.
  6. Been there, done that, got the blown fuses to go with it. When I lowered the forks and added set back risers the wires got in the wrong place and poof. The smoke got out and everything quit. Smelled funny too. Thats part of why I'm looking at the rewire deal too. Had to S.... Rig the repair as I couldnt get in there for a good fix with fairing all installed. On a wiring note, I am looking at adding an aux fuse box to power add on stuff like an extra power socket, maybe the power for the passing lights that sort of stuff. Instead of just adding wires to the battery I thought I would add a fuse box. I have some 12ga fuseable link wire left over from a project. Would this be OK to run power from the battery to this new box, instead of running a fuse in the supply wire? Should the wire have some sort of amp rating? I was sort of figuring about 15 amp?
  7. Thanks Dave, sort of what I thought. 35w is 35w, the type of bulb makes the difference in the amount of light. Rite now just swapping bulbs. I have plans for an HID headlight swap (parts on the way) and when I split the fairing I think I'm going to add a relay and run a 14ga power wire for the lights. Looking at adding a fuse block to add circuits with fuses without adding a bunch of wires to the the positive terminal of battery.
  8. I have a semi-related question on the passing lights. I currently have 35w incandesents (sealed beam) lights in. Just got some 35w (H3 bulb) halogens on a e-bay deal. I am planning on doing some rewiring of the passing lamps and adding a relay in the near future when my HID kit gets here. In the mean time can I run the new halogens or do they require a higher amperage? I have been currently running the sealed beam ones, so will the halogen set draw more juice?
  9. White Gas????? You talkin colman camp fuel? That stuff aint cheap either.
  10. AND a excuse to get out and ride.
  11. Depending on how far you have to drive the pay the court deal gives you might cover gas in the cage. lol Something stupid like $18 or 20 bucks. I forget. The wife had like 3 days tied up on jury duty between going down for weeding out process (not paid for) and standing by a day waiting on a call for court date (also no pay) and actual going down to court for trial. Which by the way when she got there shortly after they said " thanks but we dont need you now". Guess it pleeded out.
  12. Those in the e-bay link seem high to me. $80+ I have seen the RK mufflers on craigs list around my place for between $30-50 no shipping, just go pick them up.
  13. I have bought my last 2 pair from Motorcycle Superstore. Free shipping, and best preices on size I was looking for at the time. I dont recall adding a "tire fee" either. coupons available Heres a page with rebates on Avon's A couple more places I check for tires. http://www.ridedirect.com/index.html http://www.motorcycletire.com/merchant2/ Happy Hunting
  14. Sailor: the Hermans Hermits one?
  15. How is it connected? I agree something so small shouldnt drain the battery but........... I have read up a little on the MP3 player that replaces the CD player and goes in the left saddle bag, it too has to be physicaly "turned off" with a switch or will drain the battery. How hard is it to get to your Ipod to un plug? If battery is weak that could effect it also.
  16. Man if I had any money I'd take that bet. LOL But I totaly know how you feel. First time I took mine apart I was really nervious. By the time I got done with the lowering the forks deal I could fetch all the tools without guessing.
  17. Sounds like there is definatly a short in some wiring. Loose connection is proably more correct. Good place to start looking is probably under the fairing. Some more experienced folks will probably speak up shortly.
  18. I have had relays corrode up also and stick and not work.
  19. Looks like an open invitation to a traffic stop if not wearing one. Law says 2yr with endorse and xtra ins? Good reason to stop and check you out. Your choice folks but I personaly have been hit by some of them big ole sicada or whatever you call them. They will leave a welt.
  20. Is it true the first Gen has an 8 track?
  21. May be overboard here, but...... Do you have to have a motorcycle indorsement in your state? If he rides it home on your tag are you leaving your insurance on it till he gets home? If he dont have endorsement then its just like no licence at al and if he crashes, well unfortunatly the ins company could skate out.

    New to Me

Yea heck I dont even rememeber anybody have reverse say 25 yr ago. I had a friend in high school who had a like 67 Impala with a power glide. Well reverse went out, she managed to find more straight thru parking or enough of a hill you could roll out of.If not we all had to get out and push. Good luck with the Glide
  23. If you have a blue tooth capable GPS it allows you to connect your GPS thru the AUX port by the cassette (or a secondary cable if you have added one) and allows you to plug your blue tooth GPS into the Comm harness on the bike to talk on the phone if you wish. Did I get that right guys?
  24. Buddy I know you have been messing with this stuff way longer than I would like to think. You probably have more places to look than I would think of but here is a couple of places you might look. http://www.digikey.com/ http://www.mouser.com/ http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/links.htm (listing of parts site I think) www.rfparts.com
  25. BOB what are doing over here now? You following me? On the oil leak I would see if maybe you can get it welded. I would guess the tempature swings might be whay it started leaking. If the JB has "come loose" you need to peel it all off try to ruff it up a bit and I would clean the area off with laquer thinner or MEK something with no oil resedue.
