  1. Yup I have noticed the same with mine. It has given me thoughts of changing tread patterns/tires when I need to. Also as per suggestions from members here I am running 40 front 41 rear.
  2. I have a light weight"travel" cover I take with me too. Mostly for hotels, keeps prying eyes out.
  3. Thats what I'm talkin about.:cool10: Simple stuff. I would much rather have a red light telling me its not on. OK so I am using the brother to this switch, only 2 connections. But I can use this switch right? Power to center and then warning lite to one side and a power off the relay (power to relay or to ballest) to the other side? Currently I installed the switch on the ground side of the relay. No way I can keep it using the switch to break the ground I guess huh? So to make the light come on the switch has to be all the way over to the other side right? If I remember right this switch would be on/off/on.
  4. OH my, I just looked at a registration for my 16' car/utility trailer and it was only around $45.
  5. Or the spare mounted under the tougne. I had a home built little triler years ago, it had like 4 leafs on it, looked like might have been for a boat trailer or something. WE took 1 set out and then later a second. My attempt was to get the trailer to "settle" down when under way. When you were at highway speeds if there were bumps in the road the thing would sometimes look like it was going to bounce its way to next destination. So my thought was it was sprung to heavy. Sound right to you all? Dont know if I want to mess with a trailer again. REally dont have room to store one. What is now the frugal guys choice of trailer/car topper being as it sounds as though the model discussed here is discontinued?
  6. Why in the heck Fla insists on that huge plate on a motorcycle trailer. Just kills it man. We had a trailer for our bike in Ok when we lived out there oh 20 yr ago. Didnt even have to have a tag on it as it below a certian size. I made one out of scrap alum in shape of Oklahoma and put it on the back. I guess no way to hide that beast. Trailer looks pretty stylin though.

    Lunch date

Obviously your not working fast enough.
  8. Sounds like maybe your feeling a little better.
  9. Yup saw those too. I like you have a smal led to indicate on instead of a big ole switch glowing at me at night. I have enough problems with glare on the backside of the windshield. You did just add ina small LED light off the switch right? How noticeable is it at night? I hate most hi beam indicators as they blare right back at ya and its dark as heck anyways and now this is in your eyes. I think if the whole switch lit up it might be the same thing. Small lite not as bad. Aslo if you dont mind, what kind of stock did you use for bracket?
  10. May have been a heat issue. Sensed over temp so fan speed kicked up. My fans sound like a jet airplane taxi around. Comes from when I was racing online and had to cool it down.
  11. Man, them look like they got lights in them.
  12. Old tools ahhh. Kinda like older cars. They dont make'um like that no more. I had a skill 1/4" drill that was metal case. By the time I quit using it the thing threw sparks out the vents on the side so bad you thought you would start a fire. I still got an old crafstman like 1/2hp skill type saw works great when a new blade is in it.
  13. I knew I saw it when I first joined. To bad my tool for an FJ 1200 dont work, then I'd be all set. I gots shims, dozens of them. Probably not the ones I'll ned when I go to adjut them though.
  14. MAN that must be my dogs brother. Thats about what he would do.
  15. One of my questions is, when using LED turn signals I understand you have to change the flasher units to something different. I would guess you have to if they are on a triler to. How do yours operate when "turning". I know on my bike years ago I had to put a heavey duty flasher on it or else it acted like it was in hyper drive.
  16. Give him a chance. He's going to put a piece of that reflective tape over it and noone will be the wiser.
  17. What operating system? I'm not a comp geek by any means. Just it may help someone down the line to know. Sounds to me like what the wifes comp was doing. Would sit idle and you would hear something like "rev up". It was for some reason turning on trying to access the hard drive or the CD rom. I dont know if a program is running in the background trying to "update" or access something. You can try to "restore" to an earlier date. Like before started doing the problem. In my case the hard drive finnaly bit the bullit.
  18. I used a mini toggle from Radio Shack. No lights as I dont think I want a light blaring back at me at night when its on and I havent figured out how to have say a red light on when its off. I made a small little bracket out of alum channel about 3/8 wide. The bracket is attached to the handlebar under the fairing. Found this switch @ RS and it has a small red light so might not bother at night. Dimensions look pretty small. not much more than an inch by 1.5. http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pRS1C-4724927w345.jpg
  19. When I first got here this year there was a thread about a loaner valve shim tool/kit making its way about. The deal is you pay freight and buy gaskets from him. I'll do some looking and see if I can find out who it was, incase someone dont post info sooner.
  20. Yea I dunno. I dont know if a rattle can of poly would give it the clear coating your looking for. That would be my guess though.
  21. Not dealing with this new tech what happend to XM radio? Did those folks get stuck with equipment like beta max machines that nothing works with it now? Looks like the dash thingy for it if it was a tad smalled would fit right in the cassett deck slot.
  22. Trader: Great snakes are protected but bikers are fair game. what the......... Best kind of snake is a dead one. My standard answer when wife asks me what kind of bug etc it is. A dead one.

    RSV cover

Mine sits at the airpor outside 2-4 days a week about 18 times a year. I just bought a Dowco deluxe all season from Dennis Kirk. On sale shipped was under $45 usd. Good heavy quality, has felt where windshield is and heat reflector stuff lower edge by exhaust. I have put it on right after getting to airport parking and no melting. I had a simular cover from Dowco for previous bike and it was 5yr old. Faded but still intact and water proof.
  24. Yup I have seen it around. Actually I found it a few years back looking for reflective stripes for my other bike. http://www.streetglo.net/ Excellent idea though. Heavens knows we need all the help we can from getting run over.
