  1. Hmm Funny. Nothing on the TN DOT site about it.
  2. Did the actual route show up for anybody? All I got was the red marker for the start. The directions were there.
  3. My thought was the auto parts store. Look on the "help" rack for a knob of simular size. Maybe a headlight knob for a old chevy or something. The knob with the set screw might be a go at tractor supply for a choke or PTO.
  4. Well I tried it today. No GO. Had the GPS up running and plugged into the aux jack and I could hear directions. Fired up pandora on the phone (wich took some doing in the garage) and it started to play over the phone speaker. Had bluetooth on for GPS and phone connected to GPS via BT but nothing for music. Oh well it was worth a shot, didnt cost nothing.
  5. Last 3yr I have rode up to my friends house near Charlotte Nc. 650 mi from my place. Then the next day we ride up to his nieces place in Ashland Ky on back roads. Quite the nice trip. That has been on a Kawasaki 900 Vulcan. I'm looking forward to it this year on the RSV.
  6. I'm investigating changing the contacts over to a 2 point or maybe if I can find it a complete socket for an 1157 bulb. As far as making it red, I am buying red bulbs for the back and ambers for the front, white for brake.
  7. I have been on a hunt looking to swap out the current bulbs for LED. Not looking to install the $150+ light pannels just swap the bulbs. I had a thought about this rear running/turn thing. The current socket is a single pin for onlt turn. But available at your local parts house is replacment pin plates. The part where the wires go. So if you got a couple of those off the "help" section and installed them in the rear sockets and ran one to the turn side and the other to a running lite signal you should be good to go right? Of course you would have to run a red LED bulb to stay in theme back there. I was going to change the brake light bulb to one of those that pulsed and rotated but I read here they dont do us much good as the bulb is mounted with the top facing up. So that looks like a no-go.
  8. I guess I would have to say whatever detailing wax I'm using at that time. I clean the windshield and when I'm cleaning the bike I use a detail wax. I'll just give it a shot and wipe. So far it seems OK.
  9. Another option http://grouprider.com/home.php I personaly make my own and save them in my computer. The HD one is kinda neat.
  10. Buddy I have no idea what A2DP is but that is what it says on the Garmin site mine has.
  11. I dont know if both trun and hazzard flashers are built into one unit. I supose a fellow could install a turn specific flasher but if the auto cancel is built into the function of the current flasher I dont want to loose that. Do they flash brite enough even though they look like they are in overdrive?
  12. On my list Buddy. But I was just foolin around with the phone the other day in the car and got to wondering if it would work. Guess next week when I get back in town I'll have to give it a try. By the way any luck finding another supplier for your parts you were having a hard time finding?
  13. Well now its really going to take some research. The flasher on the RSV dont look anything like the ones they sell for LED turn signals. I still dont know for sure if the auto cancel is buit into the flasher or not, and I never did hear or feel the flasher fo the hazards. So unfortunatly this dont look like an easy mod either. Options are running thin. Looks like would have to use the load things. I dont know what you call them right now but I guess basicly they short the sytem into thinking it has more draw.
  14. OK so I have a Garmin 765t. It has blutooth capabilities. I have recently found pandora, such a cool deal. So my question is instead of using the MP3 player on the GPS can I connect my via bluetooth and use my phone to connect to pandora and it play thru the bikes comm system? I havent had a chance to just go out and try it.
  15. I probably have a half dozen old car phone chargers in a cabinet around here. I can look and see what I got and send you something. I'd hate to see you let out the magical blue smoke. DJ's theroy on electricity. you need power and a ground and you dont want to be in between.
  16. Thats sort of what I need to know. What resitor and where do you need to install? Am I going to have to cut into the harness. I want to be as minimaly invasive as possible as its still under warranty. Gator06- What did you finnaly do? Do you have a resistor or whatever do dad installed? I wonder if there are any sport bikes that have LED turnsignals from the factory with an auto cancel flasher we could swap.
  17. OK so I have been searching around looking for info on LED bulbs for the turnsignals and also the brake. What I would like to know is if you use the replacement type looking LED bulbs do you still have to put the special flasher units, resistors, controller or whatever in the mix? And I thought I read somewhere that the auto cancel function dont work with the LED's either. Something like this. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDIzWDQ0MA==/$(KGrHqN,!oME9c54uKu(BPr+S840(g~~60_1.JPG
  18. Yea I know, but it atlest might help my turn it on. I am trying to get into a routeen of when I turn off the key, I reasch over and flip the switch off. I mounted the switch on the handlebars between the fairing and the rubber bumper thing.
  19. Check the fuse holder. If its a round type its the factory deal. Mine running 35w bulbs was melted. I replaced it in same spot under fairing (maybe bad idea on my part) and installed a relay set up using a new power wire and the existing power to run the relay.
  20. Depending on how they are wired in you could be over working the saystem. My RSV had the "fatory" wiring for the passing lights. When I went to install a realy as suggested I found the fuse holder melted. My lights were 35w. LED help with the draw but are expensive to say the least for the good ones. What size wire is going to be a major player as to how big of bulb you can run.
  21. OOPS my bad. I read one thing and was thinking of a different tire I guess.
  22. I was reading somewhere (danged if I remember where now) about some of the differences between a cell phone GPS and a dedicated unit. Biggest one I remember that jumped out at me was the amount of satalites they use. I wondered why the phone, although it works is rather slow about it and tells you to make alot of u-turns as it is slow about giving you notification of upcomming turns etc. It said that the phones use only one or two satalites and the dedicated GPs uses 3. So its quicker to compair and figure out what you need to do. My phone will usually get me from point A to B but I sure wouldnt have wanted to rely on it for my trip last summer.
  23. I just installed a bi-xenon (hi & low beam) HID kit off e-bay in my 09 RSV. Pretty straight forward plug and play. Before the HID I had a Sylvania 80/100w bulb in it, but the more I read on here the more worried I got about melting the wires.
  24. Flyin-installed the "new" switch and LED like you suggested. Works pretty good. Now if I just remember to turn it "off" when parking.
  25. This site has several listing up around that area also. Depending on what you have time for. http://www.moonshiner28.com/
