I read something on one of the trailers like that. The recomendation was when you get it pull the wheel bearing out and repack them as they are not allways done real well. The LED tail lights seem to be really popular with those also.

Hmm do you maybe have another browser installed like chrome? My company web site will not allow me on with IE, but works with chrome. I can use IE from any other computer in the house and get on just not mine.

My 09 has one installed on the left lower side of the fairing. I also installed another one (weather resistant type) on the right rear and attached it to the grab rail I think. So the nav can plug in her phone or whatever if need be.

LOL got me too. A few weeks ago I rolled into a parking lot at the store. I'm taking off helmet etc. This guy rolls in next to me in a jeep, the 4 door job with top off. Gets out slings dor closed and starts to walk away. Then I hear "beep beep". The dumb a$$ actuall locked the dors with the top off.

I guess its habit for me, so all the time. When I started riding Fla was a helmet state. Then moved to Oklahoma and it was optional, but I was in the military and you had to wear it on base and in our saftey classes we were told that even off base if you had an accident and didnt have one on the military could not pay medical bills. So I allways wore one there. Now I'm in Fla again, helemt laws repealed. I still wear one all the time. I like my Scropion EX0 100 (like yamaMama has pics of) and a Bell Mag8 3/4 I think it is. Solo I use the 1/2, but long trips I usually lean towards the 3/4 even solo. I guess wind noise and a bit more protection in rain are my reasons. Plus I guess I still have in the back of my mind that the government could decide not to pay my medical bills (I'm retired military now). Once a GI allways a GI I guess. Besides luv bugs taste like #*^@ phooy.

Malwarebytes is free. May have to boot up in "safe" mode to install. Sometimes these viruses keep you from installing software to elminate them.

Check the different states DOT sites. Seems to be quite a few roads in those areas getting repairs this summer. I saw somewhere the road from Gattlinburg to Cherokee has one of the 2 lanes shutdown for paving.

You know, with technology what it is I just don't know why someone dont make an mp3 that uses the same harness connection so you could pull out cassette and plug in mp3. I know they make one to swap with cd player. But if you pulled the cassette there might be room for say your phone.

OK cant help it. Years ago My brother in-law and I were riding together out in what was the country then. I was on a Yamaha RD 350 and he was on a Kawasaki 3cyl (ok so now you know how many years ago) We were on our way back to town when I see him swerving and then swatting at his back and trying to shake his shirt off. We get stopped and he jumps off, rolls on ground etc. I go to see whats going on and he has bee stings on his back. Only thing we could figure was must have been a queen bee. Flew up a shirt sleeve and bounced around on his back stinging again and again. That poor boy had like 8 welts on his back from that deal. I know I have had more bug encounters that make me laugh. Heck anybody that has rode for more than a couple years has um. Glad your ok. Well except for that pic on facelook or whatever it is everybody think they need to let the world know what they are doing. http://images.clipartof.com/thumbnails/442882-Cartoon-Man-Running-With-Flames.jpg

At the end of next month I am making the trip south from Cincinatti to Central Fl. Going up I angling over thru Charlotte to pick up a buddy. Anyways thats when the other night I posted about the slide, I was looking at using TN 9/US 25W and going over thru Caryville TN. Part of the reasoning was because the Tn DOT folks were telling others to use the road that paralles I-75 (297) Says its about a 32 mile detour, but hey its got some twisies. The northern most exit is 160 and the souther exit where you would get on/off depending on direction is 134. I'll try to link the map here. I pumped about the trip so much I've already put together the trip and ready to load route in GPS.

djh3 replied to farm1810's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
They are talked about well on another fourm I frequent. I have been interested in some railes to go on the top of the bag that you could bugee a rain suit or something to. But I havent seen any for our bikes. A couple have told me they used HD rails but cant tell me what model it fits. Good luck with your endevor and post som pics when you get them. -
I have said this a million times Barret Jackson killed the resto-hot rods for my generation. Every moron that has a piece of a 50-60-70 car thinks its "project car". They think its worth more than new. OK sorry I'm done now. Lord I appolgize.

This thread isnt to old. I recently did mine and was involved in this thread gathering information. Was well worth the read. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47504&highlight=headlight Gen 1's are slightly different than mine. (but thats why you all ride um right)

I will start of by saying I'm not real versed in these yet. But it appears as though your vavle covers are leaking. Could be they just need snugged up, or the gaskets could be crispy critters and dont seal anymore. I would try to snug them up. If your going to go get the valves adjusted I would guess from reading posts here it is a normal ocurance to replace the gaskets at that time.

CB: you sure them are horns? They look like siren take offs from a 1950's HD police bike. Kinda nostolgic. Cool looking, but not for me. Down here sometime this summer I could see them filled up with water. On the Bad Boy/Stebel horns. I was in Harbor freight last week and they had a couple in there for just over $30. I want to say like $32ea. So I have a question on the stebel install. I put mine in the front left legiin lower. Wired in with a relay. If I swap out the one on the right side of bike do I have to install another relay harness? I'm kinda guessing its easier to do that than to try to fish wires from the left front all the way back. Has anybody noticed how much these types of horns have went up in say the last 3-4yrs? I bought my stebel for less than $40. Now you cant touch one fore $50, and if you want a chrome one your looking at close to $100 or more.

From what I have seen (only HD Kit so far) the LED headlights are way way more than I can afford. The HID was mmmm maybe an hour including splitting the fairing. I had a little more time involved being I had to back track and install the switch after I did the conversion.

Well I am going to take a stab and you are looking for a replacement for the headlight right? Although I have not used one I have asked about them for the driving lights. The general consensous was they are not bright enough for a headlight. I have ordered a couple for my passing/driving lights though. I think I gave $5 or something off e-bay for them. If your looking for a headlight alternative, HID might be your best bet. I ran the Sylvania BP 1210 or whatever the number was bulb that is 80w low 100 high. I ran it 5yr in my Kawasaki and never had any problems. I swapped it over to my RSV and I got spooked by guys here saying I was going to melt the wiring for the headlight. I will admit them dang wires are pretty small. So I went with a BI-xenon (hi and lo) HID kit. I think I found it on e-bay and was around $30-40 with the slim ballest and a relay kit. I also had to put a switch on it to turn the light on and off as recomended by other here because the bulb has a low limit built in and the elec draw gets to low when you start the bike so essentially it makes the bulb start twice everytime you start the bike. Causing premature ballest burn out. Hope this helps you out.

I'm running a Garmin 765T with a handle bar mounted RAM mount. Zip lock bag is in the trunk for the wet stuff. It has MP3 player and blue tooth. Although I havent invested in a cable from Buddy yet. but at least I can see if someone is calling while I'm traeling and I can call at my next stop.
