I went all over the spectrum when I put mine on my 900 Kawi. First one I got was a Pyle marine grade, had aux connection, SD card slot and marine band weather radio. Was a tad to long to fit in the slot so I had to file just a little off the fins of the heat sink. About 200 miles in something broke loose inside radio and because I trimmed the heat sink-No warranty So next up was a rugged type listed as for ATV and the like from Wally world. It was a round $100 so about 1/2 price of the Pyle. It lasted a week and went back because it quit. Belive it or not the best and longest working radio I used and it was on the bike when I sold it was a $30-40 dollar small credit card sized unit off e-bay. I added a 10w amp because I thought I neede it to drive the speakers. Something like this radio and this type AMP. You can get these amps if you look around that have a slot for an SD card for MP3's I made a block off plate for the radio slot and mounted the items in that where a car radio would go. If you go with a standard type car radio most folks I talked to recomended a weather type cover. I have a brand new one I can sell you if you go that direction. This set up will allow you to have radio and an aux input for an MP3 or GPS, phone whatever. Also the radio has an aux output you can plug a pair of ear buds into. This came in handy on my 900 as at highway speeds they were required to hear anything besides noise. I finnaly just ran a wire to plug in headphones (ear buds) from the back of the speakers to by the seat to make it easier.

Looks like the harness itself is only $35. How it exaclty hooks up I cant tell from the pics I see. One looks like it plugs into a box of some sort. Maybe an amp? Or will it plug into the end of the cable that goes into my CD player? Or being they deleted that, follow that cable back to whatever it plugs into and replace that entire cable?

Depending on service and type of previous phone, the service should be able to sync your phone numbers and e-mail addresses you had stored. Also there may be a micro SD card in the phone they can get the info off of.

Thanks for the ideas of where to look. It runs off the factory horn button thru a relay. I think I mounted the relay blades down and even sealed it with RTV before I mounted it.

LOL I would have to agree. I dont know of anybody that has got that many miles on a 404. I am pulling my E3 off next week and would send it to you. But I dont think putting a used tire on would be worth the time and money by the time you pay shipping. If you are looking for an inexpensive tire look at a http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/395/6188/ITEM/Shinko-230-Tour-Master-Rear-Tire.aspx. I think they were about $80 shipped when I was looking. If you were close I'd give you my take off. It probably has maybe 1/8" tread left to wear bar.

Mine came with a couple of metal tab like brackets. I used them and mounted it to a bolt for the radio equip. That way it has air flow around it. Oh and I included the diagram of the light switch. OK found I think the orginal place I got info for the warning light switch. It is from Flyinfool. I posted his wiring diagram also I hope I dont get in trouble. In the post it tells you all parts needed. A lot of the kits come with a wiring harness now so you can disregaurd those included in a kit. The biggies you need are the switch, LED lite for warning and the resistor.

I was tooling down the road the other day and the vulchures were having lunch in the middle of the road. I though I would give a toot so they might dispirse BEFORE I got there. My stebel sort of made this squeaky sound and after maybe 3-5 seconds it finnaly started to sound like it use to. I tried it again a couple times today and same sort of deal. Any ideas? Do I maybe need a small shot of WD 40 in the intake of the horn so the compressor picks it up? I hate to think I'm gonna have to replace it.

Oh my, there must be 100's of posts on this. I would say the general consensous is Shell Rotella T-6 (blue jug) is the winner in cost and correct oil for bike spec. It is Syn and about $22 a gallon at major discount store.

Alrighty. Got home and looked up the info. Here is the listing for the light I bought. 6000K was suggested as it was the "best" overall light. [ame=http://www.ebay.com/itm/260920721646?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D260920721646%26_rdc%3D1]Look here[/ame]. And if I have to I'll either look up the post or put the directions somewhere for the On/Off switch with warning light. The light works well as it flashes to let you know "hey stupid turn me on".

I think Flyin os the one that hooked me up with a parts list and diagram on how to wire it up. Was pretty easy. The kit I bought had the harness relay and all neede parts. I mounted my ballaset off the frame for the fairing so some air could get around it hopefully.

I got a kit off ebay. When I get on the house PC I will look up info. It works great. I would however recomend an on off switch for the HID. As there is alow voltage failsafe on it amd everytime you start bike it goes into this mode and restats light. So it makes the bulb start twice for every time you crank bike.

I love mine. My only complaint might be this summer. Riding in the heat and all my back sweats something fierce while riding. Have thought about making a cover for it out of an old sheepskin seat cover to see if that helps. Any ideas?

RSV rear wheel bearing question

Only discription I could find on this was an XS1100 I think. Had some good pics but dont know if its the same. But it to showed the cup side towards the bearing. -
Snoop around some of the antique car fourms and see what tricks those guys have up thier sleeves. Surely this cant be the first time someone has needed to do this on obsolete lenses.

I can respect that. Its hard to find a good dealer that takes care of customers. If they give you a deal on mounting etc thats cool. -
Once they get the parts diagrham up, I'll bet we can look up whatever thingy the I-jigger do-dad is and plug it right in. Well that is if you have I-thingy's. I personnaly dont own anything thats apple.

Motorcycle super store still shows them as well as Dennis Kirk. Even if they are on close out you can get them and still have a couple years to debate what to go with next. -
SilverT: the guys in Milwaukee still make basicly the same thing as 20yr ago. If I was plunking down hard bucks for a new bike I would probably go with a Victory Cross Country Tour or Vision. Yea I know alot of folks think the Vision is ugly, but I kinda grew to like it. Although it dont have near the luggage capcity it looks like.

Under "Additional Features": You got to be kidding me right? Still carburetors ??? Geeze must be still tons of stuff left in the wharehouse. Compaired to last years model you get a whole .1 more fuel capacity for your $400 more.

No sense going to my local (30+ miles away) dealer. He still has 2011 new hes trying to sell. He will probably have 2013 dirt bikes and them 4 wheel buggy things though.

Being retired military I thought I was going to have good health care for my wife and I when I got out. This new health care will treat us like we never had any. Back to the subject, something we looked at when deciding to stay our time in the military was "retiring" early so to speak. Still pay federal tax on retired pay dont guess you could expect to get out of that, unless your a congressman or something. I Fort Myers there is a VA hospital and it has a good network of comunity based clincs around the area. Thats and option. Some of the Dr around here accept Tricare and atleast know what it is.

I cant complain about the E3's on my bike now. After reading some reviews and some folks thoughts here I thought I would give them a try. (Commander II) I think if I wasnt going to run the E3's or the Commander II my next choice would be the Pirelli RT66. I ran a couple sets of those on my 900 Kawi and they were very good in rain and tracked well. Not a fan of the 404 at all.
