Yea Larry and the "old US 19" Skyway was way more scarry than the current one is. Dont know if anybody else ever rode that thing but it seemed like a near straight up climb. I use to ride it in the 70" on my RD 350 and would have to drop down a gear depending on traffic. For me the scarryest part was what seemed like a 1/2 mile of expansion grating. http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4052/4384849535_df278a2e4a_z.jpg?zz=1 Photo after the ship hit pylings and it fell. See the angle to get up this thing? http://img.youtube.com/vi/xMjBGLxMdP4/0.jpg

Must not get to freezing very often. That would be one big ice rink. Orginaly I thought upper northeast Canada, then I think I saw a truck that looked more of the European types. But it confuses me they are driving on the correct side of the road.

MP3 Player Install On '99 Yamaha Venture

No problem Wayne. I think most of us would like to keep someone from making a mistake we did or helping them to do some maintenance or mod an easier way if we have learned one. Well that is unless we can sit by and watch you struggle with it. -
PHEW I was afraid thats what he was talking about. A pull behind for the bike. I have seen some neat little bike campers over the years.

MP3 Player Install On '99 Yamaha Venture

It appears the e-bay listing has the wire and a handlebar mount you would then just pop your GPS on instead of the suction cup windshield mount. Should work fine. The ram mount will run you about $40 and be without any wire. I just use the cig lighter one. Which ever would work fine I think. -

I think the audio connection the fellow was talking about is actually a 1/8" (3mm) headphone type jack. RCA are actually about a 1/4" or more around. Anyways the advantage to using the "new" OEM cable would be you could control the I-pod thru the handelbar controls. Otherwise its just sort of plugged in and you control volume only. Check out the http://forums.gpsreview.net/ All major brands of GPS have a section. I think last time I looked the only "new" Garmin that had and audio out was the motorcycle specific units. Which sucks. But if you check e-bay and amazon you can find an older unit that has the features we like, MP3 player, programable routes, audio output/input. The programable routes is something else the GPS guys are leaving off newer units for some reason. -
For me at the time I ordered it best price was Jake wilson. I normally get my tires from Motorcycle super store. They will price match also.

Yea problem using the garage door is its up hill not flat. So I used the side of the pickup and the front walk to the front door. It was more level. -

Wayne, I would hold off on buying the CD cable and the spanish (or whatever it is) MP3 player. Check out the brand new (cough cough) 2013 Venture. It has an MP3 or I-pod option cable instead of the CD player. May be a better deal to buy the cable and an I-pod. You will losse less space in the saddle bag. On the GPS option. I have a 765t (simular unit to one discribed) and have had it on a bike for 3 or 4 yr now. Like the man said if it aint pouring your OK. If you have to have it out when raining cover it with a plastic baggie and a rubber band. The mount most of use is from RAM mounts. I think I got mine from www.gpsmounts.com or something like that. -
Headlight adjustment off maybe?

Will have to fiddle with it some at a later date. Just wanted to confirm I might be on the right track. But you know the changing of the tire and then the beam being off may be alot more common than you think. Just that some may not be as critical about aim as I am. Thaks for the help fellas. I'll check back in a few days after I look at it. -
I installed an HID kit sometime back. Say 6 months or so. It has been fine. Tonight the wife and I came home from my sisters place in the dark. It didnt seem to shine where it should, even with high beam. I know some is due to being 2 up but it didnt seem to be this bad last time we came home in the dark. Then it dawned on me I changed tires. I mounted up a Michelin Commander II on the front and it is the taller I think what are they 130/90 instead of the the OEM 150/80. Do you all think maybe this could be it?

Last couple weeks when using chrome, I have got a message about no longer supported browser. I ran into this when I was running win98. Once your system is 2 behind windows latest and greatest they dont support it anymore.

Hmmm so what exactly is the difference between a RSTD & RSV? Fairing, trunk, comm . Just sayin.

4th container on right brass lonking thingy's are hinges.

Hmm so I tried doing the math based on the 11% increase in MPG. Which is all that really interests me. So my average is in the 37mpg range, with the 11% increase should get me to 40mpg. With the cost of $220 it takes me about 69 galons of fuel or 13.25 tanks to recoup my investment or aprox 2760 miles. Hmmmmmm Sorry just board, no more election garbage to cook my mind.

WOW they retrain you guys? All I remember getting on my way out the gate was discharge paperwork, a retired ID card and a shadow box with my medals etc in it. I had to fall back on my "learned skills".

Sure would be nice if Hannagan or one of the trike manufactures would sell them for decent price. But last I saw they want almost dealer prices.
-
Well one thing about keeping the current bike is you know what ya got. Seriously if your going to replace it after you move will it be worth it to sell dirt cheap and1 then pay "good riding" area prices. If you replce it what would you get?

With the pipes most HD guys run, how in the heck would they know if it was knocking and pinging? If you look @ the compression ratio of the HD most I have seen are still in the 9.0 range which you should be able to run regular grade I would think.
-
Most of the time I use reg grade fuel. I guess its 87. I do however add either seafoam or Berrmany B12 perty regularly. About evry 4 tanks or so and run it out, incase any bad things are forming in carbs etc. On my trip this summer up thru the mountians I ran some premium as I was pulling some long up hills and it was hoter than _ _ _ _ I though it might help keep the spark knock possibility down. Milage wise I haven seen any difference that I can tell. Even the difference between the ethonal and non-ethonal fuel. But to be really fair on that deal I think you have to run the exact strech of road with and without, and I have yet to do that.

Modify turn signal relay to work with LED lights
djh3 replied to PGunn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The RSV flasher unit also integrates the auto cancel feature. So it turns the flasher off after you make the corner or a few minutes. I tried just removing the pins for the flasher and slaving in a LED flash unit and couldnt get the shut off feature to work. But if you dont care abuth the shut off feature sure. -
I got it figured out. I refered back to the orginal post here. Then retraced my wires. I had a couple things off. One I tied in my grounds (relay and horn to motor ground) and I wasnt using the brown horn wire. So I guess the moral of the story is check your work over.
