Thanks Buddy, by "standard" is that a MIDI? There are so dang many out there when you go to looking. I thought I had a couple old PS2 cables but the ones I have are much cmaller in diameter, must be mouse or something. The diameter of the one I need is like 12.2mm or close to that I is what I get. You still doing the GPS/bluetooth cables? Last I knew you had to find a parts source.

Ron, I orginaly installed a Sylvania BP bulb. I forget the number but its a 80/100 bulb. Excellent light, but the down side is the more I read and guys gave me info I was asking to much of the wires to power the bulb. So I opted for the HID Bi-xenon in the color range you have listed. Works great, only down side is I can not run my headlight modulator. If you dont run one it is an excellent mod. I would however run a seperat on/off switch for the reason mentioned. The HID has a low voltage protection that shuts it off when you start the bike. So essentialy the light it turning on 2 or 3 times everytime you start it, more wear and tear on ballest. As far as hiding the goods on the RSV I found it pretty easy. I used the included little flimsy metal brackets and the screws mounting the radio goods in center of fairing, tied wires over to side and of course the realay. If you do it and need a discription of the on/off switch the one I did with some help from a member here has a flashing LED to tell you its off. Looks like the warning lite set up is courtesy Flyinfool.

Can anyone tell me what 5 pin DIN connector plugs into the headset plug. I have a couple of keyboard plugs (I belive PS2 is what they are called) and they are to small. I'm leaning towards them being a MIDI cable connector.

I have been thinking more about this "aux ear bud" jack lately. I see now that the pics and stuff I posted may take a little more doing for our bikes. Ours dont use the same type connector. They use instead a sealed round connector. If you knew what kind of connector was used like for the Buddy Rich deal you could build a Y cable and make one. they almost look like and old PS1 or AT cable or something like that for a keyboard. I dont have enough guts to cut into the rubber shielding to get at the wires and access them that way. I was thinking of running the ear buds along with the headset on the helmet. Otherwise I would just get the plug in 1/8" adapter thing.

Looks like from what I could find that the 2 colors were a white and a black called a "midnight" Same for the RSV except the alternate color was sort of a cranberry looking redish purple. Check this page out. Supringly to me the black bike was more than the white. Must have had some "extras" the other didnt have.

WOW sorry about that. The salt down here is either on the rim of a glass or in the ocean. Thats why when I had a chance to move after getting out of the service I chose somewhere it didnt snow. Shoot the way this crazy weather has been, waint a few days and you'll be warmer than we are.

Christmas Presents now I Need adapter

I built just the frame part for lifting. I didnt add the legs, have had a couple times where the stability would be handy. -
Last time I joked about the Lightning being back to back champs because of the lock out/strike lack of play. I'm not sure that the fan base has really recovered from the last time. Up north where hockey has been a mainstay sprot for years it may be OK. But in regions where as a profesonal sport it is new they may have a hard time selling tickets. I know Tampa Bay had to do some creative mareting to get butts in the seats after the last time.

Looking for a 87 1300 Carb Slide
djh3 replied to VentureYZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Super Glue. :rotf:Seriously though anybody know if these carbs were used on any other model bikes? I had a Legends race car and it used the FJ1200 motor. They used the carbs on the FJ1200 FJ1300 I think Kawi used them on like the 900KZ At one time I could buy a good set for about $40. WOW I just looked at bike bandit for the micro fiche, it looks like a 3rd grader drew it. Its terrible. How are you suposed to find a part on that is beyond me. -
Stock Pillow Seats?
djh3 replied to Wayne McClain's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have done over 600 in a day solo. In Oct the wife and I made 425 miles and no complaints. I dont notice it being any hotter than any other black motorcycle seat. I was thinking about the sheepskin thing this summer when it was 100deg though. The wife calls it the bark-o-lounger seat- 22 replies

Alternatives for passing lights
djh3 replied to PERM44's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Boy I can tell you from the searches I have ran at stores I have locally, these buggers aint easy to find. No listing at tractor supply or carquest, autozone, advance auto parts. Only place I could even find them was NAPA online. I think in the $20-22 range if I remember rite. Did I read right a flood beam? So short and fat? The beam I'm talking about. -
Back side of sign probably says something like "gotcha" or "just kidding"

Alternatives for passing lights
djh3 replied to PERM44's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hmm @ 38w might be a bit taxing on the wiring to run al the time like I do. But thanks for the info. I am running off a relay though. hmmmmmmmm -
Do you remember I think a twlight zone episode where a guy went to another planet and it was exactly like home. Except everything was reversed. His house was backwards to the one on earth, they drove on wrong side of road etc. I totaly forgot about the world ending, or else I would have skipped the house payment, insurance, bills etc and partyed. Guess good thing I didnt.

Saftey in my book is allways smart. I had a bike trip to Bristol Tn scheduled one time a couple years back. We had a hurricane floating around so I was on edge about taking bike. I was all packed and ready. Got up the day to leave at something like 3am. Storms were everywhere and threating most of the way up. I opted for the truck, good thing. It rained hard all the way up to Valdosta Ga. Then the silly hurricane swapped around and caught me comming home and I drove in 6hr of driving rain comming home too. I think most here will agree you made right move.

I thought they were basicly the same bike minus the fairing and trunk? For me when looking for a replacment for my 900 Kawi electronic cruise was a must have. I didnt want to have to go the vista cruise again. I put over 10k a year on and majority of that is highway miles. Radio and comm was a big point too. Although I know now I could go the Scala route and get that. I actually think I could cary more gear more easily on my 900 with just large leather type saddle bags and luggage rack. More versatility I think. I have 2 different type bags for the luggage rack. The Venture saddles bags aint bad but putting gear in the trunk is a challenge for 2 up for a week. I am happy with my RSV, I like the looks of the fairing better than just the shield.

Barry make sure you got the pressure right in the tires. It will make a heck of a difference. You goin up I 75 to 10 and across to I 95? Or you going the 301 to 95 route? Should be right comfy with the temps they have forcasted. Becareful and enjoy the ride.

I head rumors of that around here too. But who in the heck wants to go go Wal-Mart at this time of year? I'd probably need a firearm to find a parking spot. I see no need for a over rated .22 Who needs a semi auto gun anyways? Oswald made 3 shots in less than 3 Sec and got 3 folks.

Them guys just aint right.

The e-flashers are the force field arnt they? Atleast these clowns down here think they are. If its pouring cats and dogs or foggy you cant see a car length in front of you, ya just put the ole flashers on and continue at warp speed and all will stay out of your way.

Ya know at the risk of looking less intelgent than a sppon I have to ask, where is the link/button for chat? I have looked a couple times but dont see it.

That has baffled me for about as long as I have been riding on the street (early 70'ish). Why are the horn so enmic sounding on a bike. I swear the stock horn on my 07 Vulcan 900 didnt sound any different than the one that was on a mini trail 50 Honda. OEM on this were atleast audable for 50-100 ft away. But I think with the faceshield up me yelling at the dope was louder. Howz come? I dont own anything that dont have an air horn on it now. Wifes rig has a set of dual trumpets and my 2500 Ram has the same one as the bike now.
