I like the sealed floor (epoxy coated or whatever it is). For the reason of cleaning and clean up if spill something. I know I will. Also I could see me dropping some little screw or something i got to have and then having to tear up tiles looking for it. As it is right now, someone (I wont say who she is) has so much #@!$ in the garage I cant see the floor. So my problem is solved.

Personaly I have a Tour Master double bag. What I meen is it has an upper bag large and a top smaller bag. Both have map pockets and are relativley water proof. It does have a cover that goes over it but I have been in a couple of deluges and nothing has gotten wet. Down side they dont make the exact same bag anymore. Mine looks very simular to this. http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4882622725358559&pid=15.1Very good bag for me but even the smal one can almost hold a pair of rain gear. Personaly I like the magnetic hold type but a buddy of mine got a magnetic bag from Cycle gear and it only had a couple of magnets (4) about 1" to maybe 1.5" round. He says it dontl ike to satay put real well shich is why I guess it came with a strap to help secure it. Size wise he like his. Wallet, camera, extra glasses phone pair of gloves, gum that kind of stuff fits well without being over sized. This bag looks to be pretty well priced and decent sized, best part is if you need the space it is expandable. http://motor.cyclegear.com/thumb.php?s=150&f=http://www.cyclegear.com/_static/webUpload/731/2_web1001061_60116_2.jpgDimensions: 12.5" L x 8" W x 5" H Expands to: 12.5" L x 8" W x 8" H Happy hunting. Be sure and check out craigs list around your area, especially this time of year folks cleaning closets out etc. I picked mine up for cheap. My bag was over $180 new. When I got it it was 2-3yr old in VGC, I paid under $40. There is alos some good "make it cheap" ideas floating around on making one if you look

OK rear signals back to standard bulbs. I am thinking though about getting a pair of regular 1156 bulbs and trying to paint them red or majick marker the bulbs to red, then all the rear lights will be red. Signals in rear dont have to be red. Well they aint on my pick up or the wifes car.
-
Currently I have LED bulbs in the rear turn signal housing. Not the big $$ ones the but ones that look sort of like real bulbs. Anyways I currently have the hyper flash thing as I have not installed the load goober things. I'm guessing I need to put standard type bulbas back in the turn signals. Or will I get enough draw from 4 additional LED marker type lights to make the flasher be correct. I'm guessing not as they are only like .06 draw for a total of .36 with all 6 lights.

I just changed tires out here a couple months ago. I used brake kleen to start to soften it up good and then WD-40 type oil to get the final goo off. The alchol usually works to.... I mean on the wheel.

What does it cost to have your Drivers Licence renewed?
djh3 replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I think Fl when I did mine last year was like $45 for 6yr with MC endorsment which was an extra $20 I want to say. Un fortunatly my tags are due on my truck and the wifes car at beginning of year. My old beater 96 Dodge Pu is $113 the wifes 2002 Durango is $92. Just plain stupid. I should get a historic tag for my truck. -
I watched a little of first quarter. Reminded me of the Gators so I flipped channel. When I checked back the Irish had left the building and the backups must have been playing. Bama had 42 points. But dont that allways seem more times than not the way these big hype bowl games go. Blow outs and they aint hardly worth time watching. At least FSU kept the game they were in close til the 4th qtr. Outback bowl was probably the best BCS game I saw. And I'm NOT a Spurior fan.

2nd oil drain plug on 1st gens
djh3 replied to dingy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
There are allways small areas of undrained oil in engine blocks from my experience. Yes it get mixed in with "new oil". I would say normally it is a very minimul amount, not enough to worry about unless you run really extended oil change intervals. I run the longer of the 2 oil filter from Purolator with the thought that more media filter more crap out. I supose if it aint a huge PIA you could just pull the plug at same time you do the other one. On my 900 Kasaki Vulcan there was an oil screen pre-oil pump. Recomendation was first 2 oil cahnges pull the screen, every other oil change after that. I have seen the 2 drain plugs on my 2nd gen, and had to read up on oil changes when I first got the bike to be sure was servicing correctly. So may look into pulling this plug from now on. On a side note with the block all disassembled like that it really dont show me where the "extra" plug is. I'll have to do a compairison look. -
Has'nt been on pay per-view for a couple years now. Dang. Tony Stewart, Jason Leffler, Tracy Hines, Sammy Swindell, The kinser kid if you follow USAC at all a bunch of them hot shoes will be there. Ear plugs are probably recomended too. I would love to go sometime. I hate mile and half cookie cutter tracks.

Well I ordered the resistors and diodes and lights today. I decided to go with the "clear" lens options all the way around with chrome bases for a little different look. All I need to do now id decide what wire I'm going to use. I know 18ga is over kill 20 is too I would think. I found some 24ga that should be more than ample for this I would think. Its actually speaker wire, but I like that it is modled together so you dont have to try to hide 2 wires actually. If I found it in black that would be even better.

Sota what I figured. Nice mid-level bike. I put over 35K on mine and only major thing I had to do was put a stator in it. Tires gas and oil otherwise. Mine averaged about 46mpg I think on trips, got 50 once or twice. I had the front Overdrive pulley, mustang seat and a pair of scootworks risers. I did give a link to the Delphi site in those that I posted pretty sure.

OK bike sat one day. Went out to run to store, click click. So short answer would be NO it wont get me until Feb. Parts on order.

Hmm dont recognize that letter as a model. C-custom Mine was a classic and was like B and then the LT his the classic with factory bags and windshield. All have same power plant. Custom had narrow front tire. Reliable bikes though. The yahoo group had a good knowledge base, but has had some fellows move on to different bikes in the last year year and half. The first link is probably the most resourceful one. And the Gadget fix has some good fixs for stuff that drives you nuts like a gas gauge that is in the yellow range after like 80-100 miles.

Bohanon seems to be the place to go. Even though I have to pay sales tax on it the battery is still better quality and price than whats available local. I checked out my tractor supply web site and the batteries that show up are Exide lead acid. Not what I want. Man I wonder if I can hold off until next month, I have to go up to Daytona area anyways for work.

Just reinforces why we see all them licence plates from up north every year. Looks really nice in the pics though. The wife and I went to a bike rally yesterday in Sarasota Fl. Looked to be a good turn out for them. Oh and weather mid 70's nice breez and clear.

I know its an old thread, but instead of starting a brand new one I thought I would post here and see if I get any answers to my question. I have an 09 RSV 17k miles. As far as I can tell it is OEM lead acid wet cell battery. Bike starts and runs fine, but in the last say 2 months it has started doing a weak battery indication to me. Say I work on something on the bike and have power turned on for maybe 30mi to hour. Next day it is either slow rolling over and either goes click click before it starts or just barley get going. Then is fine. If it sits for say 3-4 days it also does same kind of thing, but not always. I'm thinking the battery is just at the end of its life. Cough up the $90 before it strands me.

I refrain from using "never and allways". I dont know if I will out live those time frames. :rotf:I get what you mean though. With the HID headlight I dont think I use the Hi beam as much as I use to. It just has a more "crisp" light. 6000k is what I went with I think.

I joined a few when I had my Kawasaki. http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/ (I probably used this on e the most) Has sections for different types bike, cruiser-touring-sport touring etc. http://forums.delphiforums.com/kawasaki900/start Dont seem to be a sbusy as the Kawasaki.org site. http://www.gadgetjq.com/gadgetsfixitpage.htm Although this site was put together by a guy for the 1500 & 1600 Nomads there is some very good overall info on maint, oils and filters and how to's. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/VN900/ If its a 900 vulcan this Yahoo group was a good bunch of folks. There are other Kawi model groups on Yahoo. But not all are the same, the one for Ventures is pretty much dead. http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49 Think I only went here acouple times. I still go to the first one I listed once in awhile.

Fairing stays - preventing future damage
djh3 replied to Carbon_One's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I remember beefing mine up but I forget how I did it now. Something I saw here for sure. On the windshied scres I took fender washers and a pair of snips and trimmed them so they had more surface area on the windshield. I remember something about some sort of light weight metal I made a bracket out of. -
Actually I'm pretty impressed with the ones I found on e-bay there yesterday. First they are "made in USA". Also I got a note back about a question I had on them today on a Sun. The seller tels me the mount is available in single wire or dual wire and also a chrome base is available. I have sent back a couple questions about the colored VS clear lens. Like is the colored ones as brite or visaversa. I'm thinking I'm going to install them up front as running/turn, swap out the ones I worked so hard on @ the rear that are now just running lights and installing a couple more red ones on the back as running/turn maybe somewhere on the chrome piece the fender mounts too. They measure aprox 1.25"x 3.75".
