  1. So You think your safe on your bike in a thunderstorm because your on rubber tires? NOT A Charlotte Nc guy was killed in north Fla on the road by a lightning strike. See story here Crazy as it sounds. I know from experience, just because your in a car/truck on rubber tires you can be zapped. I was on the flightline pre thunderstorm and picking up equipment and the truck I was driving got zapped. Killed it dead, engine radio and our ears were rining for a day or 2. I know I dont think about lighting when we get caught in a rainstorm and have rode in my share of thunder and lightning storm. Be safe folks.
  2. Agreed Wheels Thru Time is a must see if your in the area. There is more than bikes in there, even the wife was amazed at some of the things in there. Steve, I'm old but I aint worked on no B 17's lol
  3. We go by there every year when we go up to NC for the week in October. Once we stayed on base, and probably should have went the next day. LOL Might work that in, looks like its about 4.5 hours up to the place we stay in NC. Here is the info on the museum for those interested.
  4. Man that sucks. So he is going to be laid up for the whole summer vacation. Kids usually heal pretty fast and recover good. Hope all works out for him. I actually think those things are more dangerous than a regular dirt bike.
  5. Yup only once or twice. The times I can remember was rain ride then parked in garage. I'm guessing a very clean, high humidity, then a very warm and damp garage. A quick ride, drag brake a bit all gone
  6. Most folks around here just take them off. I could see where they could cause issues. A lot of the zero turn mowers mowing outfits around here have orginaly had roll bars but dont fit well in the trailer so, off they go. Whats next seat belts?

    A Crown and I

One added point when bolting the axle back in. You want to load the springs, and control arms with weight before you torque down the mount bolts. Reason is if you have the axle hanging and tighten everything, it is not where it want to ride and you have introduced twist into the control arm bushings. The will be twisted in the loaded (down) position and prematurely rip out. How about them drive shaft bolts. 12 point bolts there was a smart idea huh?
  8. Be safe guys. Which this work thing would quit getting in the way.
  9. I didnt realize Kriss was done. I have one on my 2013 Victory on the high beam, and a HID in the low. Now is the new Venture a 2 bulb headlight? Try signal dynamics. Actually the one I'm using I had on a kawasaki and I rewired the plug to fit the Victory.
  10. Far as I know, no where in USA is it illegal to sell non-eth fuel. You can buy leaded fuel for "non-highway_ use at race shops by the barrel, but not worth the hassle to store etc. The higher octane fuels typically have less alcohol. If you want Alcohol free marinas and airport. As Freebird said you have to drag a can and it can be aPIA. I use to run 110 low lead av gas in the Legends Car and my other racers in Oklahoma. Her was a bigger PIA to track the guy down to get can gas. I OK I knew the guy at the airport. But it does smell goooood.
  11. Darn Vogel a week to late for me. School starts back up the 14th so I have to be in that monday to get things rolling.
  12. I built an adapter for mine out of 1x2 steel tube. My spring and tube had interference. So I just cut a small notch in it.
  13. I have one on my other PC. Also I have some of the male and female plugs. I was building some ear bud adapters for awhile. I'll try to remember and post it tomorrow.
  14. Wow thats pretty amazing. Best I have got on my Victory has been 43 I think. Most times if 2 up I get in the 36-38 range. On highway 35 is what I figure.
  15. Was the bag loaded during trip? How much weight in it and what was it. Bottom rubber still under them?
  16. A lot of times reading the description and the reply's gives you a pretty good heads up. On the seller side, I have had an air drill up for sale for like 3 months on a "free" ad. But low and behold every month I get a notification that pay pal has paid e-bay for the ad I have there. So may pull it here soon as I have not had any action on it.
  17. Wow Your cabinet guys must get paid less than the yard guys here. They all seem to drive crew cab 250 series 4wd less than 3 years old.
  18. I remember when I was stationed in Oklahoma and was riding a few times. Storm pops up and we hid in an underpass more than once.
  19. Thats only about 5k. Most them guys dont ride much. Just polish and profile.
  20. I have a similar situation going on @ work on Amazon. WE ordered 2 cases of the blue scott shop towels. 1 showed up and the other is MIA. The seller says according to Fedex the package was delivered with it being signed for. I look it up on fedex sight it says no signature required, package weight was 10lb. One package alone is 10 lb. So somewhere there is my package of towels and around and around we go.
  21. If I was to base off past experiences. I would stay anywhere but the Knights Inn. We have had 2 bad experiences at Knights Inn and Scottish inn. Have had decent luck @ quality over the years. When I traveled with my company we often stayed at those and their sister hotels. Wish I had the funds and the time worked out. I'd be up for a long distance ride about.
  22. We had some rip snorters when I was stationed out in Oklahoma. Here was probably the worse.
  23. Well was on Yahoo reading the whats happenings and ran across this pic of the tornado damge in Oklahoma. While I have had to deal with 2 nasty hurricanes here in Fla since I moved here in 96. I guess it could be a HD now that I look a bit closer. But any which way ya look at it these storms suck.
  24. I would be concerned with TPMS and tire goo inside. Air does not "expand", but the moisture in regular compressed air heats up and expands. Thats what the big sell is on nitrogen filled tires. It is a "dry compressed" gas so no expanding. We use to have compressors on the flightline we used on the aircraft. They had dryers on them prior to compressing.
  25. Both belt drive bikes I have owned have had different particulars. The Kawasaki 900 liked belt to run to one side of pulley system, I forget now which side. And belt deflection was about 1/2-or so. The Victory is picky or I will ger a wurr or chirp. If I remember this one like to run to the outside. Pretty specific about tension, so I bought a gauge. Need to know what range it needs to measure as they come in different tensions.
