  1. They say spraying the front of your car with PAM (cooking spray) will help too. Maybe spray up the forks and stuff to help with clean up.
  2. Dont look like it. I just tried a half dozen times. It apears you cant get enough heigth after unlocking the RAM clip to allow it to come off the garmin mount. I know I have a heck of a time usually getting the stupid little power plug clips to release.
  3. There is a guide/access hole up front by engine you can use a screw stick or drive extension in to help with front floppy u-joint. Of course I didnt find this anywhere until I figured it out myself.
  4. I have been thinking about one of these hi-vis mil spec type vests to be seen a little better. I think for where I'm at I need a vented or mesh type. The Icons and firstgear ones I have seen are a solid type that look more like the sport bike types. I guess I could just get the $9 one from wal mart the construction workers wear. But I would think they might flop to much at speed. Any thoughts.
  5. I like bike brite. Couldnt find that last time I was looking and I got S 100. Seems to work as well.
  6. Uh Oh may be bad timing. I got back into Sarasota Sun and on my trip across the roads going home east of Tampa bay area the Luv Bugs are out in force my friend. Nasty little buggers. Only last a couple weeks but do they make a mess. Good thing you got a windshield. Youll need a couple of bounce dryer sheets to help wash off the buggers. Have fun.
  7. Pretty sure my Garmin 765 has the avoid certian roads option. I also use TYRE to plan routes. This way I can see where its trying to run me and if I dont like it you have option of avoidences in the program or simply drag and drop to where you want and it will calculate.
  8. :080402gudl_prv:The bottom one you had a pic of is what I was thinkin.
  9. MALWARE bytes.
  10. Find a local shop that installs bussiness radios. They should have a blank cover to go in it. I'm pretty sure if I'm welding a hole up in the roof I maight as well figure in a 1/2 paint job on the truck. If its a beater like my 96 I'd maybe try the fiberglass and a rattle can of color match stuff. I think I'd go the plastic plug route first though. Less muss n fuss
  11. Replaced my E-3's with Michelein Commander II. Althought the front is just a tick narrower I haven noticed and decrease in handeling. Now I ain carving corners up neither but it feels fine. Is the grip loose on the front? or rear?
  12. Hmm that is odd. Maybe its not really air but moisture instead. I mean it is a tad humid there right?
  13. The plastic "body plugs" are the way to go. A little silicone sealer and pop in. Same kind they use to plug holes in firewall of cars of unused wires etc. Might try auto store on "help" rack.
  14. Manufactures typicaly say dont ride tires hard the first few hundred miles. But still something dont sound right.
  15. May work but its low volume or something. What kind of GPS? I got an edsets cable and I can hear but the mike done work if your riding, sitting stil its OK. Garmin 765t
  16. I had 900 vulcan carribean blue. I put a fairing on it and a friend of mine owns a paint shop. We matched up some paint from house of color. Was really close. Any way some stripes or something will cover? Or is it a bit more than that?
  17. Some that I looked at were from tsaku and fit a kawasaki nomad.
  18. Man I dont think so. Only folks I know of that make paint to color code for bikes is color rite. This page shows 2 gray/silver colors for that year of bike. Heres a place cycle color that might be an option. Post a pic some may be able to help you out with an option. Problem being with just touching it up is the paint on the bike is 14yr old and the color you order will not be "aged" so will probably be different shade. Look thru the wifes fingernail polish collection. Your looking at somewhere around $30 for a small bottle of touch up.
  19. Looks like a grommet to hold a wire or steady the air box. Dont have a Gen 1 so strickly a guess. On the seal question. My 2nd Gen has a seal in the grove, so I would think yours would. If its missing and its a stupid to find part or expensive heres a fix. Small line of RTV sealant on one side. Let it set up some till it skins up some. On the ohter side take petrolium jelly and smear in grove where fit togehter. You may have to use a q-tip or something. Once RTV is skinned up put pieces together. The petrolium jelly should keep it from sticking together next time you want to take apart and make a nice seal. Any extra that squezes out take a razor blade and trim off once set up completly.
  20. I have the "basic" J&M headsets. I installed a cable to use phone. I am suspecting maybe the mic is not good enough grade. If I wanted to upgrade to an aero mike can I just change mikes?
  21. If thats all like Dan said dont fret. It will probably blow out what it dont like and make a mess in the breather boxs.
  22. How much to much did you get in? Any chance of slipping a piece of tubing in the fill hole and pulling it out with a syringe or something?
  23. I had c-rations left over from viet nam when I was in the service in the late 70 and 80's. No thanks. Some OK some you wonder if its worth it. At least by the time we went to Iraq they had bought some new stuff.
  24. Like I said. Passes the 5x50 test. 5 feet away @ 50mph/kph knowone knows.
  25. Carbs work definatly-One advantage to FI is better fuel economy along with better emmisions as fuel is "metered" better. Gen 2's probably average about 38 maybe 40mpg on long highway trips. Atleast thats what I see, and my buddies HD with FI gets almost 50 on the same fuel run. Most of the bigger new bikes come in around high 30 to 40 mpg. Bluetooth would be nice. Right now I'm struggling to get a cable to work good. I can hear the other person OK but under way they cant hear me. They say to much interfearence. I'm working thru if its adapter related or mic.- A factory type system would be prefered with an easier to use "aux or MP3" hookup. If I didnt like it I wouldnt have spent my coins. When buying used you go with what you feel is the best deal available.
