J&M Elite BT-04 Series Bluetooth® Headset
djh3 replied to GreenMtnHunter's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Well...If your not worried about paying enough just go by the HD web Site. These are a 30k Sena (pretty much top of line) The 10 s are $439 , 10s dual set $395 @ revzilla, the 30k are $520. All depends on how much mula you want to spend I guess. I dont need the most fancy stuff. -
Thought I posted this earlier today off phone, but guess not. Here is the pin out for the HD http://www.rlstaton.com/headsetwiring/. I thought I had read the Elud/TransC bikes were 7 pin. Leave it to Yamaha to change something up to cost owners more $$$ for no reason. @ $600 plus per rider I defiantly would go BT. Sena has a Freewire or something like that , plugs in thru an adapter cable to 3.5mm jack. Jack plugs into transmitter and boom your done. Does require a $25 adapter, then just decide how fancy a headset unit you want. I have read and heard thru you tube the "mesh" thing aint quite a good for multiple ride connections as they play up. I think I would go with the 10R now. My SMH 10 is good, just a bit bulky looking and sticks out from helmet. But they work fine. You might find a pair on a deal being they are the older model. As for your J&M headsets, read the site they have a return policy you can send them back. Just send in for a return authorization. If anybody has a pin out of the "new" Transcontinental comms it might be good to have that in our info section.

I'm considering a '99 Royal Star Venture, help me out.

Shock aint that hard, but you need a lift. The 2nd Gen I would say ignition switch contact burns, pretty easy to keep that from happening I have a fix. Also the fuel pumps have been known to crap out, but that is hit and miss. -

Should be able to look up a wire diagram, but I think the HD ones will work. And they are a dang site cheaper than $600+ -
For years Motorcycle Superstore was my go to place. But they got bought out by J&P, so now not the most cost effective place. I am currently also looking for tires for the Victory. Put a Shinko 777 on last year got about 8k on it. I think I'm going with a Continental ContiTour. Still trying to figure out best price, but Cycle Gear has been looking good for my tire. I tried to look up the last place I bought tires and their web site is no longer up. Jake Wilson didnt come up either, but last time I got a tire from them it was over a year old.

ITs a well pump, only one to supply pressure. Steve I'm really leaning towards the impeller/housing. I showed it to the fellow @ the pool place and he says "oh its fine". To me it looks overheated and the impeller does not fit tight enough to me. I understand it cant be like a press fit, but I bet there is .030 clearance. I put it back together and took silicon dielectric grease and put a thick bead of it in the bushing. I can get a little pressure out my supply bleed port, but it aint much. So tomorrow looking for a "repair/rebuild" kit for impeller and difuser. If nothing else I will know the pump is got all new bits.

Mounting the CD player on my 09' Venture

These are the cats that made the ipod deal for the RSV the last 3 years or so they made them. This is what the factory deal looks like. Really thinking a Ram X mount for phone and a simple jack to plug into AUX plug @ cassette. -
Well actually its been out a couple years. Ever since the new A/C got put in. I think some knucklehead stepped on a line, and that started the whole mess.
-
Yea I have dealt a little with wells for a house and foot valves. But I have no idea where this well line goes once it leaves the pump. I have to imagine there is a check valve of some type. But.... once I had water in pump and it on it should create enough suction to draw, and loose it after I turn pump off if the valve is bad.

Hmm power went out just as I got all my info loaded here. Arghh So my irrigation system has been INOP for a couple years. I have piped in a connection with a ball valve to put city water to system to check out leaks/broken sprinklers/ breaks in lines etc. all of that is sound now. when I turn on the pump motor runs but no pressure. So open city water and I can get maybe 4-5' of coverage, turn pump on and it it increses to maybe 7-10' which is about where I think it should be. turn off city water and nuttin. Even with city water hose off pump running open valve I get no water spraying out. This am I did out of the city water/hose connection, maybe 3 inch or so but not what it should be at 40 psi or more. I did split the case and check things out best I could. Impeller bushing looks worn bad and black like overheated. So I did the old pack it with grease to take up space thing and no better results. So I am thinking my next step is remove pump from system, drop a line in the kiddy pool use for dog baths and see if it will pump. Sound like a viable plan? If pump makes water move I guess then its in the line from the well up. $$$$$$$$ I do not know the brand of pump. So far the only part # I can gather is off impeller housing. C1-258p which comes up a Berkly pump. I dont think that is what I would have put on there as I am not familiar with them. I can tell you it looks like a Flowtec maybe a FP5172

Mounting the CD player on my 09' Venture

Took up to much room for me on trips. Needed somewhere to put rain gear. But I think the bracket mounted to the outside of bag. Like where the fabric is to keep lid from hinging over. I used some larger fender washers to hold bracket. The hold down clip is an over-center type thing. I used a velcro type cable tie around it to keep it clipped. I really forget how it bolted in, but I think it was more to the outside of the bag. Never had a skipping issues unless like railroad tracks or something like that. Also some had relocated theirs to the trunk. -
Have to be back at the College the 12th I think it is, to get ready for students.

From what I can see, one of these wouldnt help me a bit to change tires. I have one of these. MC Jack

Read some additional info that he crashed a semi in Texas last month I think it was and was also cited for a DUI or Drug charge in Texas. You watch he is going to be here illegal the trucking company will close and the families are screwed.

Sealer is a emergency or temp fix. The stuff is nasty and can ruin wheels. My bet would be the O ring gasket at the valve stem. If they have not been changed out in say 4 years or so they get pretty dried out. The valve cores are a good bet to. My RSV had a rear that would slow leak like that rite after a change. About 3 lb or so every 4 days. Finally I went about 3 or so pounds over pressure and rode it a couple hundred miles and I guess it must have seated the bead or what ever. Fine after that.

This is the stuff you want. Aero Kroil This stuff is da sheetz. One of my heros Dave Walkisher (wheels thru time) uses this stuff. We have some at the shop we use on exhaust manifold bolts or really rusted or cruded up stuff. PB or WD has nuttin on this stuff. -
LED headlights for RSV

2nd gen the lens is mounted to the bike. You only replace a bulb. I ran an HID in mine for years. Was a nice upgrade. They are however a PIA to change. -
So I had a bunch of questions. Read that after the accident took place the driver was jumping up and down in middle of road and screaming or something. Then I think he was still there when cops showed up. Because it said they "released him" And then they could not find or contact him the next day. Daaaa would they not do a sobriety test? Then if he failed lock him up? And if he does not consent its an automatic suspension of licence. Would not surprise me if the whole thing ends up being some kind of Russian hokus pokus thing. Very said thing, nothing is going to bring those folks back. But what 23 year old dont have a phone? Maybe not a "real" phone but a burner. Illegal activity folks like those, they are not traceable.

We switched from the corded comms on the RSV to SENA. Honestly the corded version had better sound and was just as easy to use. I did put push to talk buttons in line, as for us I always had swooshing sound unless they were used. -
Man looks neat. What kind of trouble can you have with a Victory. Pretty built proof.
