  1. rick, sorry if offended ya. I'm just pokin fun period. As much as we look at bikes and think "I like this one because its different" or "this style is better" etc. Whe you look at them we are sort of force feed what we can have. I like the Looks of the Vic Cross Roads I posted. but its sort of funny how much it looks like the HD Road king deluxe or whatever they call it. I think the RSV "flows" beter as far as looks go because the bags are rounded same fot teh Voyager VS the HD shoe box bags. Whatever reason I like the looks of the Vaquero better than the Voyager even though its the same bike. Maybe its the blacked out theme thing. But man it felt heavier than tan the Venture and maybe a bit wider or something. Its all good man just get out and RIDE.
  2. I read up on it here on the site first. My methoid was crank the handlebars full right. You will need a light of sometype to probably see up in the back of fairing. Remove the connector and boot. There is a metal spring clip that holds it in that has to be compressed. If you have a pick with a 90 deg end on it, it may help. It is a tight fit. got and 13yr olds in the neighborhood that want to make a couple bucks?
  3. http://cdn.polarisindustries.com/polaris/vic/2013/images/model-photos/thumbs_large/crs_rds_classic_p1.jpgToo bad this is soooo Buck Rodgers looking. Or this one for heavens sake. Sure am glad my 09 dont look anything like this. http://cdn.polarisindustries.com/polaris/vic/2013/images/model-photos/thumbs_small/15th_crs_cty_tour_p6.jpg The bags and farings flow with the angles of the fender and tank. Not like big shoe boxs plunked on the side. Oh well to each his own. Just ride.
  4. I liked Frampton back when he was with Climax blues band which was way before his top 40 days. Heck of a gutiar player. did ya have a good time???
  5. I used mine the other day on an excursion of around 100 miles. Held phone tight. Although I am thinking of a secondary system to secure on my long trips. I was thinking velcro strips I have to secure the cables/wires for the extra devices. but now you mention it I think the ole rubber band may be the best route. Thanks for the idea. I think I could actually move it around so the camera shoots thru the windshield and take pics going down the road if I wanted to.
  6. Hey SilverT this is my desk top. LOL Dont know if I'd buy one all flamed out but I can dream.
  7. Salty Dawg we talkin F-4 tape? The rubbery strechy stuff? Man you could fix all sorts of stuff, leaky pipes, electrical woes.......
  8. Ya know, they DO build something BESIDES the Vison (which by the way starts with a V and rides really nice). Funky looking to some, but its not a cookie cutter bat wing bagger neither.

    No more rsv!

Last announcment HD had about "totaly redesigned" They changed the paint, included some high dollar CVO paint scheme and added what I though was minimual changes. Total redesign to me is it looks different from what was produced in that model line before. IE: the gen 1 and the Gen 2. Vivtory had the Kingpin line as a touring bike for a few years, then redesigned and fine tuned the line into the Cross bikes. Seriously I think Yamaha will take the Stratoliner Deluxe, add a few morsals and call it a touring bike.
  10. Ok how funny. I just bought one of these for my scoot for the cell phone. Got off e-bay pretty decent piece. http://thmb.inkfrog.com/thumbn/clickgolds/nEO_IMG_1_137.jpg=450&gap=1
  11. I think a cable is suspect. Possibly under the fairing. The answer to the question "does the music cut out" and the answer was yes. So it kind of sounds like the connection is lost. Best guess would be the connector under the fairing. Some dielectric grease may be in order.

    No more rsv!

I hate to say it but if it puts a rush on RSV and I can get more out of it than I paid for it. I'll be minus one red/black RSV. If some knucle head wants to pay me say 18K for it I'll be at the Victory dealer next day. I like my Venture but hey if I can make money on the deal......... Being I own one I can asure you they aint gonna go up in value. Nothing I own ever goes up.
  13. Looks lik my utopia. But I think the backrest part is upside down. My pouch on the back of the seat is on top as it is velcroed to top of seatback.
  14. Hmm dont know if I like Moose, never had any. but put chocolate on anything and I might try it.
  15. Even though mine is hanging on the bracket for the audio stuff it dont seem to interfear with FM or Aux input stuff. Like I said the CB dont get turned on much on mine, only a couple times since I have had it and I just haven figured out how to make it work worth using I guess.
  16. See if this helps you out.
  17. Hard to say. I lived in Oklahoma for 20yr and they did plenty of it in different areas of the state. I supose it depends on the area around it. I would think limestone would not be a particualr good thing to be fracturing, as its pretty soft anyways. The iron and quartz we had in Ok is a bit diffent rock. Up in Mich where my Grand parents old farm is they got oil many years ago. After the wells were in for 5yr or so they came back and did some fracking. After that the ground water went to crap. Salty tasing and nasty smelling. I guess the oil company fractured the ground and screw3ed the water table up. No worries, they didnt have to drink it, bathe in it etc. Every now and then they bring in these big trucks that have flat platforms that sit on the ground and shake the heck out of it. Some distance away there is another truck with sysmic equipment in it and it measures things to help determine what they are looking for I guess. I know they could be 1/2 mile away and it would vibrate my mobile home. Clink glasses etc.
  18. I have to suspect the unit gets hot. Thus the reasoning for heat sink type construction.
  19. HMMM Maybe that splains why I get mostly gooble de gook on mine. I have had the HID in it almost since I bought it. Never tried the CB untill about 6 months after I got the bike. Maybe I'll have to try the turning off the light trick and see if its any better. Does it buzz or pop or anything? Or just seems to be short on distance?
  20. I could not find a sutiable cup hold for the wife on back. I looked at the cruzer cups etc and any of those when I mounted them either hit the lid for the saddle bags or were in the way of them. The leather ones commonly used on the HD that go on the rear crash bars were simply to low and out of reach. So we were in Leesburg Fl at the bike rally a few weeks back and came across these. I like that I can take it off if I want and can be relocaed anywhere on the bike just about. The one we have is actually called a chubby cup. but is3 times as much. Clamp is adjustable and a cam lock style so you dont have to totaly undo the thing to get it off. http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/pics/S/8/S80980_1000.jpg
  21. Be really careful. ESPECIALLY on the 4th of July weekend. Every whana be Kenny Roberts (Valintino Rossi equilivalant for your youngsters)in the world will probably be there trying to set a new worlds record. Lots of othe good roads around them parts if you can make some side trips.
  22. I have a pair of the C-II mouted up and in service now for aprox 5700 miles. Yea I know it aint much, but I ran across the same delema. Not any threads on the RSV with the C-II on it. So I got to reading threads concerning other heavy touring bikes, namely the HD folks. Good reviews is wht I found so I decided to give them a try. So far I have been very happy with them. Not that I dont think the E-3's I had were bad. They did get noisy at end of milage in corners and some on long runs. I think its just the wear vs tread pattern gets the feather effect. I chose the C-II because of the tread pattern. Here in Fla we get some pretty heavy rain and sometimes days of it. The tread pattern on the C-II was the only one I could find that had tread actually criss cross the center of the tire to "let out" water. The others were essentially a slick in the center. As far as the 130 up front I really dont see any difference one way or the other, but my forks are lowered in the triple tree 3/4".

    Mosport Race Track

Got together with my riding crew. WE looked over some of the options we have. We decided time is sort of dictating the souther coastal route. So looks like we will stay one night in or around Williamsport Pa. Next day up route 15 I think it is up to finger lakes region to Ithica and up 89 to bottom of Lake Ontario. Then around the lake to Kingston and then Hwy 2 mostly over to Bowmanville. It gives us the option if falling behind to cut over to interstate 81 to the boarder.
  24. Looks to me if you slide your hold down strap over one rung youll be ok. On one side it looks as though your on the outside rung and on the other your one in. Square it up and try the inside rung if strap wont go over both outsides. It does attach with velcro rite?
