  1. I would have to try to do it. Just me, if you bomb out and cant get it put back together and torqued your out the part money. Then pack up your leaky piece and get the v-max.
  2. Contact Dunlap. See what they say. Would motorcycle superstore not square up with you?

The other pair I had, the innards sound as you have sdiscribed. One side you could look almost to the end and the other when looking in from the engine side was only a few inches. You can do some research around here and find the "good" part numbers. I picked up a pair off a 2012 Street Glide I think. Slash cut rears. I know no cats because after like 08 or 09 there EPa figured no one was leaving factory muffs on and there by defeating the catalitic converter. OK did a little research for ya. Hillis said: The part numbers on mine are 64900016a on the drivers rt, 65592-09a on lt. Non-cat slash cuts.
  4. :rotf:Figures Bob. But like I said sometimes its worth it. My son just bought a room AC unit. Found it at Lowes, then I did some searching around and found it available at Home Depot for less. Well the policey is they match + 10%. So they did that then my boy asks about a military discount and they said sure, so I got out the ID card and they took another 10% off. All totaled up they took about $140 off the price.
  5. Sounds like underpressure. It get the scallops in the tread and then in corners they will rise and fall with the scallops and it makes it feel like a wobble. Make sense? My rear was starting to show that pattern. I think PO didnt maybe keep press up. I belive 39 front 40 rear is where they should be. Check a few threads I'm sure its listed. I'm running a Michelein Commander 2 and thats where I'm at.
  6. Once you plug them in you will have to adjust the volume by the control on the left handle bar. I think its the middle switch. Just sort of tab thru until it says IC then you use the up/down lever to adjust the inter com volume. However the higher you go the more background "swoosh" you get. The mic is "open" all the time. It kills my ears so I put a couple of puch to talk switches inline on mine. they were like $30 ea. Cheaper than the mic mutes thing.
  7. So if I get this rite, essentualy the "normal" pick up came out of the petcock and because it basicly has a lower draw point than reserve at that point. It draind the tank below where reserve would pick up. Stanger things have happened I supose. I am in the habit of riding on trips till it sputters and flip the fuel lever and look for gas.
  8. Bob just sent you an e-mail with coupons for tires from motorcycle superstore. Dont know if you can use but hey I thought it was worth sending on. I mounted up Michelien commander 2 last time. So far so good. My E-3's were towards the end when I was getting ready for a trip, plus they were howling.
  9. Which side of tire had the cupping. This could help start a place to look. If its on the right I would have to guess if an alignment issue it has to have pressure on the left to make straight. Shocks pressure could make it do also if pressures are not even. One would work differently than the other. What pressures are you running in the tires? What kind of tires also.
  10. See if they will give you a date code on the tire. If they have stopped making them they may be old to start with.
  11. May be the clunk you heard was the fairing being loose on the bracket. Mine got worse. I think because I lost the support of the faring on the handlebars as I added risers at the same time.
  12. OK since we had this thread and I was talking bad about the CD player today I go to use it and its got "ERR" on the display. So I'm thinking its getting even right. Then I remember I had rearanged some stuff int the left saddlebag. sure enough made sure plug was all the way in and wa-la it works. But I was pretty sure I didnt even get close to the plug. Gremlins I guess.
  13. Look it over. I think my 900 vulcan was held in by a snap ring. If its that dirty sombody left oil in there a long time.
  14. Hmm tire pressures up?? I'd say put on lift and check sterring head bearings. Dont know if that is an issue with the first gen or not.
  15. Looks like you were pretty close to wear bars anywho. So whatcha going with next??
  16. I'm guessing here a first gen? Any way to retro fit say an LED light to its place?
  17. Manual for 2nd Gen says 419lb total. 20lb ea bag and the same for the trunk. Why whats up? You got a load of gold to carry?
  18. Looks quite and inviting, well now anyways.
  19. If you take it to a body shop they should be able to match it up. If you go to an independant painter he may be able to hand pinstripe.
  20. Hard to say. Maybe a spacer in the wrong place? Are you certian the shaft got back on the splines in front?

I had a knock off type in black. Painted it with some spray chrome paint. Its not bad, blends OK I guess. I might have left it black if I would have mounted it first. Where it sits I think it would just blend in with the open space.
  23. Welcome HMMM somewhere either here or maybe the Venture forms on delphi someone had a 10" I think clearview for sale at a decent price. I had an old memphis shades phats laying around from a previous bike. I layed my current RSV shield over the top after I figured how short I wanted it. Used a dremmel tool and cut it off. Its OK around town here but I'm looking at a 3500 mile trip and behind trucks etc the shorter one beats me to death. So I put the tall shield back on.
  24. I was working on rerecording a few weeks back. Had CD in computer and running. A few minutes later I noticed it wasnt running anymore. It just shut down on its own. So I thinks theres issues with PC. I have seen the I-simple gizmo. But it seems you can not source it from anywhere but Yamaha. Can not seem to get a part number. And the price they want for it.........Holy Cow man and still would have to buy one of them high dollar I-thingy's to go with it.
  25. Yup got a bunch of music on SD card for GPS. Problem is I need to redo it. Some songs are normal volume, some louder some quiter. I sure could use the extra room in th left bag going to canada, so I may have to consider it.
