  1. I should know something by Feb 3 if the ignition by-pass part of this is a plug in deal on the Tour Deluxe also. If the weather is OK Fri I am going to meet a member with a TD that has allowed me to see if this plugs in just like on the RSV. now the ECM side for a "keyless" operation back up should the switch burn up, as of now I can not get connectors to fit the TD. The RSV I can get them and have sold maybe 5 or so of them.
  2. Sounds like it. Aint this intro-net thingy neat. Sure am glad ole Al Gore invented it.

Have to say Pink is probably one of my "new" favorite singers. She kind of reminds me of Janis Joplin. Hearty and soulful. You can understand what she is singing to boot.
  4. Like alot of things I think they have thier place. But its not a "one size fits all" deal. Elderly, certain illness or situations those folks probably should get it. I just vitamin C up thru the winter and hope for the best. So far since being out of the USAF since Jan of 96 I have had the flu twice and one of those was in the summer.
  5. Hmm my Galxey wont fit!!!! Would probably have to have a flip phone open.
  6. From what I saw on the Grammy's the other nite, Wille aint far behind.
  7. I bought my GPS unit from an authorized repair off e-bay. It is a 765t and they were phasing them out. but when I bought it I could also get an extended warrenty thru square trade. It was reasonable and I figured being I was going to use on the bike it was worth it. I normaly cover it in heavy rain with the baggy trick. I would assume you could do the same with the XM. Just an idea and food for thought
  8. I have not studied up on newer windshields for bikes. I just remember what I was told years ago that no-rainx. I guess it messed the coating up or did really bad things to it. I had used it years ago on a face shield on a helmet. It turned sort of a yellowish color, but it was fairly old and I figured it was just age.
  9. Right side rear? I think that was a molded type hose. Glad you all got it fixed.
  10. We were at a bikefest the other week and he was there. I think they were charging for his signature. Really??? Now if it was for a fund raiser that would be one thing. The line was almost a half block or so, so I reckon he is a popular guy.

Kris seemed to get a little better the more they played but still. UGH Reminded me of the last time Glenn Campbel was on a TV stage. Man it was hard to watch. I never really though Wille was all that great a singer anyways. But if they would have performed with some of that rap syntho goober music nobody would have been the wiser.
  12. Yup I got to say the same thing. I was in USAF and they would come around to our grave shift when it was time and give everyone a shot. WEll heck then my whole crew was out at the same time. Sill dumb a$$ I would skip as many weeks as I could until they caught up with me and threatened to cost me money (article 15) Add some vitamin C to your routne.
  13. Its funny how somethings go back and forth. I guess not many bikes have front air forks anymore. I remember my like 88 or so Suzuki GS1100 touring bike that was a big deal back then. It seemed most all the touring type bike had air front shocks atleast. I think the air shock hose idea has merit. Probably reasonable and its easy to install and trim up the long line.
  14. Height is pretty important. Needs to be right. I have the OEM and it is tall for me. In or Fla sunshowers I have had times that it becomes very difficult to look thru the windshield, my face shield and my sun glasses or regular glasses with all the water. I also made a shorter shield. It works good until I get behind a semi or trailer. Then the wind seems to really buffit you.
  15. This is the one I was thinking of. No wonder I thought it looked like this one. It the baby brother to it. http://powersports.honda.com/2014/ctx700.aspx
  16. Yea the flares probably wouldnt even get a second glance.
  17. I just had my RSV apart to do the valve check and hoses disconnected. I would say 3/4. but your best bet is to find the leak and pull that hose to be sure.. Depending on which hose it could be a few minute job or a bit more time.
  18. Dont see alot of room for foot repositioning, but I'm sure sombody is working on that. I just read an article about best selling motorcycle brands and how many units. Honda #1 and the C something 700 was best selling bike. Its the new one they came out with sort of a cross between a scooter and a small sport touring bike.
  19. At one time I was looking into finding the aeroquip type stainless lines to do it. Then something else took my attention on the bike, and then something else and then........
  20. Last dis ussion I was involved in best we came up with is you would have o build it yourself.
  21. Try a local parts house that has big truck parts. Not your Advance or Autozone someone that carries big rig stuff. They should have some in a varitey you can use.
  22. I have a 96 Dodge 3/4 ton with CUmmins and a manual. It is the older of the cummins and is a 12 valve motor. A couple years later they went to a 24 valve head. Mine has 110000 and I bought it used from a fellow that pulled a fifth wheel camper with it. When I got it had about 90k I think. Only real problem I could say I have is the plastic dash is completly cracking and falling apart. But I think no matter what truck you had if it sits in the Fla sunshine like mine it would have the same effect. My milage is 12-14 around town I would guess, I dont usually fill it up around town as it sits alot. Highway last trip I drove it to Alabama I got 20+ under 75 and about 18-19 running 75> with cruise. Once the RPMs get over its happy spot the milage goes down quickly. There is a few of the Ford motors that you defiantly want to stay away from. You will have to research as I'm not completly sure. But they had serious head problems and crank problems on a different sized one. And they allways sound like they are trying to throw a rod IMOP. Most seem to be happy with the Duramax. Definatly dont buy one prior to those engines, they just didnt have a good record. Like was said kind of depends on what your plans for it are. I can tell you that Dodge jut started making a 1/2 ton with a deisel but I'll bet that bugger is out of the price range you want to spend. Probably in the 33k range. But a good used 3/4 aint going to be cheap. Happy hunting.
  23. Yes, one "P" clamp per side. You need a short I think its 1/4"x20 bolt, maybe 1/2" long. Not sure on the length. I used a stainless steel allen head bolt as it was easier to get to the allen then a regular hex head. I used a slightly larger diametr washer also and some lock tite once all sizes of bolt was figured out. Works quite well and is ez. Hides away nice when all put back together. AS far as exhaust clamps. I looked and hunted for 3 weeks or something when I was mounting mine. I just couldnt find them or they seemed expensive and ore than I could afford at the time. SO I used SS hose clamps and polished them up with chrome polish. I did it more as a test deal to ride for awhile befoe I dropped the rest of the cash on the parts. Glad I did. I like the sound of the RK, but on long trips and especially with the wife the growel gets to me. So I take them off and put OEM back on, in a few months I may change them back for awhile, I dont know.
  24. I just got an e-mail from AMA about this upcomming vote. http://cqrcengage.com/amacycle/file/Xx1i5WvvsmC/header.jpg The EPA needs to hear from you on E15 Submit comments before the deadline, Jan. 28! Submit Comments! You have less than two weeks to tell the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that you support its proposal to reduce the total amount of ethanol required in transportation fuel nationwide in 2014. The AMA supports this proposal because it could slow the introduction of E15, a gasoline formulation that contains as much as 15 percent ethanol by volume, into the marketplace. The AMA opposes E15 because it can cause engine and fuel system damage to your motorcycle or ATV, and can void manufacturer’s warranties. You play an important role in convincing the EPA to change the 2014 ethanol mandate under the Renewable Fuel Standard. As of Jan. 17, the EPA has heard from more than 4,000 motorcyclists! But the EPA needs to hear from more of you to counter the pro-ethanol groups that want E15 to be sold throughout the country. During this public comment period, you can tell the agency how this proposal will help protect 22 million motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles in America -- and the riders who depend on their safe operation -- from inadvertent misfueling. Don’t forget, the deadline for comments is Jan. 28! Act today to ensure your voice is heard. For the latest information on the American Motorcyclist Association’s efforts to protect your access to safe fuels, go to http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/news/rightsnews/13-11-15/Introduction_of_E15_fuel_into_the_U_S_marketplace_may_stall_in_2014.aspx. The EPA's policy is that all comments received will be included in the public docket without change and may be made available online at www.regulations.gov, including any personal information provided. Now more than ever, it is crucial that you and your riding friends become members of the AMA or ATVA to help protect our riding freedoms. More members mean more clout against the opponents of motorcycling and ATV riding. That support will help fight for your rights – on the road, trail, racetrack, and in the halls of government. If you are a motorcycle rider, join the AMA at AmericanMotorcyclist.com/membership/join. If you a re an ATV rider, join ATVA at www.atvaonline.com.
  25. UGH spend too much time polishing up that stuff. Dont leave no time for ridin. Still 35K is a decent enough price it looks like. When I linked to it was sold for about 1300
