  1. I wanted a bike with a faring, radio and electric cruise control. I could have lived without the faring if you could get the cruise, inter comm and radio. Its all what you want. Other than the couple things I mentioned the TD is the same bike.
  2. Mines a Utopia also. I like the adjustability of it. It can be raised or lowered to some degree and also the position forward can be adjusted to push your back a little straighter etc. Don't really know about the others, Grasshopper and I think diamond R
  3. I think it partially depends on which backrest you have. I don't know if they all swivel in the same way. I have a Utopia and it is like double hinged I guess. It will flip backwards onto the passenger seat or almost fold down till the bottom of it touches the drivers seat. I agree the slight bit of adjusting mounting or dismount is well worth the comfort.
  4. Bert, you know plenty of your countrymen are here in town for the winter. A couple weeks ago I had to go down to the Dr office. I think I saw more cars from Canada then with US tags. And the ones with US tags were from north of South Carolina.
  5. What chu talkin bout Willias? Its been in the 80's here. I am glad its going to thaw soon for you all up north. Some places have got hammered. From the looks of a buddy of mines place in Wisconsin he might be shoveling snow in April.
  6. I haven't so far on the couple of surgery's I've had. Soreness settles in later but usually they give you some decent chemicals. However read the side effects on some of them. I don't meant the funny feeling and pink elephant kind of stuff. Whatever they gave me last time had me bound up in 3 days and really didn't feel like they were dulling the pain much anyways.
  7. Contacted seller. Yup told me same thing out of stock. I'm not sure a black one would look all that good on my 09 red and black. But maybe.
  8. Kind of know what your dealing with. I reinjured my back I had surgery on 5 years ago. I was bound and determined I wasn't going to just "work through it" this time. Working with the VA is slow and I think work is getting a bit ticked. To bad, its my back and I have to live with it long after I don't work there anymore. Knees are bad to injure. I hurt my right knee many years ago in the service. Still aint right, but at that time I had seen some of the work the AF Dr did and I decided I could still walk so I was good to go. Take care of it and don't over do.
  9. Buddy Rich makes a cable and air rider or someone. I got a used one a fellow bought and never installed. But I have yet to get the Bluetooth part of the mic to work right. If the GPS has Bluetooth you can connect your phone and then use the intercom (somehow I have yet to figure it out or get good directions) I have used mine in a parking lot to call wife but once I got to about 20mph she said there was to much noise. Have not tried it since.
  10. Its only a couple of 10mm bolts to get the air filter housing thing off into your mitts. Then its like4 screws in form the backside to get the filters out. I have but not on this bike washed the filters out with soapy water and then let air dry for a day or so. If you were going to do this I would blows the dirt out and then soak them awhile then a little more aggressive rinse out and let dry. Your best bet is to search out a good deal on a set of K&N filters. I paid about $15 more than what a pair of OEM filters would have been and its the last filters I'll buy for the bike. Mine came off Amazon for about $60 or so I think.
  11. I think that's the store I was looking at. I did send a message asking about chrome. I currently have a stebel mounted on the left side where the OEM was. But I wasn't able to pop for the $80 or whatever it is for one. SO I just spray chromed it. Its not bad but it don't look chrome either. And the chrome stebels are not all chrome either I don't think.
  12. Switching grounds ugh starting to sound like old 6volts LUCAS positive ground system :scared:
  13. What do you mean except Charlotte? Somebody is getting shot up there most every day from what a couple friends say. Oklahoma is much like TX. Little town where I lived I think had 2 or 3 robberies in the 20yr I lived there. 1 got away, the other 2 got a dose of lead by "citizens".
  14. Yup cam/valve covers are interchangeable just turn them around 180. Now the chrome goobers that go on top. I hate to say you should have marked them dang things before you took them off. I bet I spent an hour figuring which one went where, and that was after I thought I had a system when laying them out.
  15. Actually I think they look better then the OEM horn. they got a little style to them. I just looked and couldn't find a chrome listed. There is a white that looks as though it could be chrome, and a neo chrome which looks sort of purplish.
  16. You do know Steve (M61A1MECH) has an app for that rite? Well sort of. He sells a harness that's plug and play and I think now he will actually build you the complete light harness and you plug it in. LOL But if your like me I kind of like building some of this stuff myself. Looks good. And I thin it really helps out the back of the bike. The taillight situation is dismal on these bikes. My wife after following me home when we first got the bike said I needed to add something back there to light it up.
  17. Look in member vendors and carbon one. He makes a slick plug in horn relay hook up.
  18. I have to read the manual every time we switch from daylight savinbs and back. Talk about loosing memory.
  19. Brian I have been held hostage by a couple of the big name anti-virus. I forget who it was but I had paid and installed as recommended. Got a virus that latterly locked down the computer. It was so slow and pop up about you need to go to our site we will fix it, from a different company. So I finnaly called my paid service and told them about this. Basicly I got oh that's to bad, for $$$ we can sell you an upgraded version of our POS and it should save you from that. Since then I have been using AVAST. Also a good look thur with malware bytes.

How come a high score in bowling is desirable and not in goof um I mean Golf? Same objective aint it? Your trying to get a ball into a hole?
  21. I just rebuilt my PC I use all the time. The MOB died so replaced what I needed. Last rebuild was about 2007, so really old stuff running XP. Never had any problems with XP. So I kept getting "news flashes" that XP was going out, save yourself from fraud etc yada yada. So when I bought new parts I bought a new OS. I asked the person helping me pick out my parts and pieces at Tiger Direct about OS. WIndows7 or 8.1. I told them I had not heard anything good about 8.1. We talked a little more and she said "but we do have win7" about 3 times so that was enough for me. I bough 7. For me its a learning curve. Why in the world it has to do some of the stupidest stuff. Programs wont work right unless you run them as "admin" Geeze I 'm the only one using the machine for cripes sakes. If I didn't want it to run I wouldn't have clicked on it. Now if I can figure out how to make tabs show at bottom for the web pages I have open like XP that would be handy.
  22. LOL to funny. I built 2 of those for my bike last summer. I mounted mine up under the faring and one under the seat for passenger. Then ran the 3.5mm cords along the intercom cord with a couple of zip ties so the 3.5mm sit right on top of the OEM comm cord. (look close you will see it on top)If I want to plug in ear buds with the shorty for solo travel, its right there, no loosing the adapter thing. I certainly know I can make those. LOl Still waiting on an answer from Star to confirm what he is looking for. It just sounds all backwards
  23. Looks a lot like our Bell Mag8. I liked that it has a shield if I want it (usually inclement weather) but the sun visor is nice. Not removable on the Bell. I have a clear shield on mine but the wife prefers a smoke one. I would buy an hi vis yellow or amber one if they made on, but clear and smoke is all Bell offers. I don't want smoke as I said I normally only use the shield if weather is bad, so reducing viability is not what I'm after. As far as sizing goes, like Jeff said its all over the place. That's why its hard to buy something like a helmet especially over the net. It is defiantly one of the "touchy feely" thing before you purchase. If it don't fit rite your noggin is goanna hurt. Nice score pretty good looking unit. On our 900 Vulcan I had to take the sun visor off the wifes for awhile and make some capture washers for the shield. The wind buffeted just rite back there she thought the visor was catching the wind, so we tried that. Once we got the RSV no troubles with the wind.
  24. Skid, funny you say that. I wouldn't purposefully buy an interstate. When I worked in the Dodge dealer part time our OEM replacement were Interstate. Maybe it was just because we warranty out the bad ones with "OEM" replacement type. But they were junk. Luck if you didn't warrenty it again before it expired. I got 2 out of parts room that were DOA before ever putting them in a car. So I would have to say my experience is not good with that brand. Some have related that Exide has been their bad brand. Beats me.
  25. Jeff I think Bob Myers was the fellow I had talked into it. Hey worked pretty hard sourcing out some things and then his real job took over and that was the end of the project. Your from the article looked really labor intense, and I guess that's why you made one run and done. Don't know what your cost was on it. Here is an idea I had after I finally bought one of these tools. I just did some comparisons out in the garage. The ID of it is just slightly over 22mm (22.17 I think) Pretty dang close to 7/8". So option one. Get a 22mm wrench and use the ends, machined to correct offsets. The box end may not be wide enough, biggest open end wrench I had was 20mm I think and it was to thin compared to the tool. Second option would be get a six point open/box wrench and use the box end, they seem to be a little wider. Then cut it down to what you need. 3rd option would be get 6 point impact socket and cut into slices and machine as necessary. Seems to me that would take a bunch of the time you had cutting notches etc out.
