  1. Hey Barry, you wernt down in Bradenton where you??? Saw this on yahoo news local. http://wtvt.images.worldnow.com/images/3679531_G.jpg
  2. Hmm we may have to investigate exactly how they have them wired. If they just wired them into the headlight circuit, it could cause to much draw on that circuit. Then your in the dark if either one goes bad with a short or something. Plus you dont know if they fused the passing lights separate do you? I would hope so, but that aint the easy way to do it.
  3. I still have a stereo with a fast dub for cassettes. I guess I could offer up a service to dub up cassettes for guys from their CD's.
  4. I hate to ask if they installed the passing lights with a relay. I'm only down the road 45 minutes and have tools.:ICwink:

    Ha, dealers

ACE if your keeping the bike, you might as well pony up and buy a tool from Jeff. Last I saw he was selling them cheaper than I bought mine for just a few weeks before he started to make them (Figures) Anyways be careful, as the last couple of guys that it was their first time adjusting the valves had issues with flying shims. I am guessing they did not get them seated well before releasing the tool and either broke part of the bucket that holds the shim because it moved or they flipped the shim out and into outer space. Well they thought it was, but actually the radiator caught it. Its not had to change the shims out you just need to make sure they are seated down in the bucket. I usually take a flat bladed screw driver and give it a tap on the center as best I can to make sure its down. It took me about 6-8 hours to get all the bits out of the way before I could get to actually checking the valves.
  6. YEA What he said. ^^^^^^^^ On a serious note though. I just went through similar trials on my 2nd gen. To me it works completely backwards of what I was taught and took me awhile to figure it out. I cleaned all the ground and mount points for them going to the horn and relay. I had a bad relay on one horn and bad crimp on connector on the other. Why both went south at the same time??? Beats me.
  7. Blasphemy: May be newer but not necessarily better. I have been using Pandora a bunch the last 4 or so years. I go from SRV, Hendrix, Alman Brothers, Chris Duatre, Pink, Nickleback, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Creed, Alter Bridge I'm all over da place.
  8. Chances are its on one of them bar hopper, no suspension aint it purty to look at bikes anyways like on OCC. You know kind of like the custom cars they use to make monogram model cars for when we were kids. Pretty to look at but non-functional.
  9. I didnt notice a issue with the mirrors. Maybe its a difference in seating position between us. We really liked the bike and would probably trade. What we didnt like was the storage space. while it looked to have a good amount it was all slanted and odd shaped so not real usable. Now the Cross Country oh man..........
  10. So I guess I need to get on the stick and finnish getting your stuff to you. Congrats, I'm sure it will be a different ride.
  11. I had a Victory Ride app that was pretty good. Would show you gas stations along route, had a layer for weather and you could track your route. Then they up dated it. Now I cant hardley get any info useful off it.
  12. I would say thats about my average 165-168 per tank. I dont usually have the mileage up on spedo. Its usually on the clock so dont pay much attention until either the light comes on or it go's "cough"
  13. Super glue can work also. RTV is a good bet though. If you want to do it up good drill some small holes in it and safety wire.
  14. Actually just a repate from a friend I use to ride with in my old club in Oklahoma. I think he was a "retread" guy also. It made perfect sense to me also.
  15. I heard a statement once years ago that still makes sense. why are probably 60 of your flats on a bike on the rear? Because you hit them with the front and it stands up whatever it is on angle and the rear get the bad end of it. Thanks for the info.
  16. MC 2 are whats on mine now. Over 15k on them and they have been very good in rain and all around. I am going to try out a Shinko next. My rear is on last few hundred miles or so I figure. On thing for sure shop around on prices. My experience is motorcycle super store has been best price. Jake Wilson has also had good pricing.
  17. Typically no. No adjustment required. I installed a pair a few thousand miles ago and have not noticed any difference and did not expect any. What I mean is it still gets about 35-37 mpg highway and its not throwing me off the bike when I twist the throttle. I bought them because they are cleanable and reusable. Its my small contribution to the ecology. It was cheaper to buy them once then to buy OEM types for the next say 5 years. They are designed as a drop in filter.
  18. Congrats on the new ride. On your emblems, maybe you can find a shop that does graphics and have them die cut you some stickers. Them emblems are pricey friend. Maybe just make you the star in a contrasting color or something sporty like that. I dont think I'd need $140 bucks worth of plastic emblems. You need to save money for safety chrome dude.
  19. You dont have to leave. I mean well they let Harley guys stay around. Besides I dont know if we have any Can Am guys to pick on yet, and you can be first. Seriously congrats. I have liked the Can Ams since I first saw them. I honestly like their configuration better then the trike conversions. Just my opinion. Have meet some great folks on those scoots also. Have fun
  20. Someone else recently had a piece of one of the buckets break off. Sounds as though larger than yours. If the shim is not completely seated in the bucket ugly things happen. I put the shim in, take a flat bladed screw driver and give the shim a couple of taps to help it sit down in the bucket. If its what looks to be minimum like a chip I would roll with it being you found the piece. On your shim. You could always pull the cam and look down there. Piece of wire through the chain so it dont loose tension and drop down and mark the cam and pull the caps. Mark them also as I believe they are machined for each position. Pull the cam and peak down there. But previously someone said there wasnt enough room between the chain and case. I'm pretty sure my FJ1200 was the same way. Had enough clearance for the chain but wasnt much else getting in there.
  21. So you have the power wire to the pump, and this is connected in-line or just on a double connector type thing? Also the Mr Gasket pump, is not listed as having a check valve in it. Has anyone had issues with it flooding out the carbs while sitting in the garage?
  22. I dont think there is a big enough gap anywhere in the head big enough to let a shim get down. That lil bugger is hiding laughing at you. Its going to be tough but I'm sure it is there somewhere. Just look. You said it hit the floor in part of you statement. So did it hit the floor? I'll bet its either right there in the oil gallery somewhere, or it may have jumped in-between the cylinders.
  23. Kirby, I have over 15K on my current set of MC II. I previously had the E-3. I really didnt see any difference in handling one way or the other. I have been from Fla to Ohio up back-roads from NC, 2 up in the NC mountains, Fla flat lands and just shy of and Iron Butt last summer coming back from Canada on interstate. I liked the handling in dry, rain (the main reason I went with it) 2 up or solo. Very good tire IMOP
  24. Use this one http://southernhondapowersports.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/my13_gold_wing_f6b_red_fr34_studio_2_print.jpg?w=320&h=240
