  1. So if I gather rite your MM is OK. Your 01 is the problem child. And the voltage drops when reved up and it should be charging more actually. If you can work a OHM meter maybe you should OHM out the stator. I'm sort of poking in the dark here, but you changed out the other 2 variables I think. I googled the problem and ran across a couple of similar write ups. Check the connections at the starter relay and your 30a main fuse and your connector plugs for RR, starter etc to see if melted or something.
  2. WOW you can sure tell why you dont want to add flags to the antennas. At first I thought maybe it was out Oklahoma way with all the barns and fields, then I saw trees so I knew it couldnt be. LOL
  3. That figures. I spent a month trying to figure out how I was going to do it a couple years ago. Now somebody makes it easy. Sheez I wired them in as running and turn signals.
  4. Different states I think have different "EZ Pass". Here in Fla the one I just had to replace because the state said something about phasing it out or some such was about 1/2-3/4" thick and 3" long. Orginaly was held inplace by velcro. I use to just put in my pocket and put in my mouth or heck it would even hit in my pocket most times. So I had to "upgrade" and mu choices were a credit card sized gizmo that stuck to the windshield. Not what I wanted because I swap it from the bike to the PU. Plus the sit says it will not work on a motorcycle windshield. So my option was this unit I either still keep in my pocket until I need it or it will stay pretty well on the windshield. I just stick it low and kind of on top of the dash.
  5. So what exactly does the wi-fi do for you on this thing while your recording? Can you connect thru wi-fi and send movies to the local police to show them of stupid people texting and driving like idiots?
  6. I think the only GPS that might even be like that now are hand held hiking and maybe outdoors man type units.
  7. Just for $hits and grins after you test it with the battery swapped, how hard is it to swap RR. Se if same thing follows across. I guess it is a possibility that the RR on the troublesome bike got "stuck". just an idea
  8. I bought the lesser expensive of the J&M headsets. I think its "performance" series. I got them off E-bay from wing house or something like that. I think I gave somewhere around $70-90 back then. Knowing what I do now and the sound quality etc of those headsets and the mic I would either bump up a level or just go wireless. I really think blutooth would be the way to go, if you GPS has an out put for BT and your phone. I have in the mean time wired my bike so I can run earbuds to actually hear the radio and the wife without having to say "huh" about every five words.
  9. Love them roads up there. Hoping to go in Oct for a few days. No way I could mount a camera to my helmet, folks would get sea sick as much as my head is on a swivel back and forth.
  10. Next class then need is a trailer towing class.
  11. Over 17K on my MC2. I haven't really noticed and kind of ill handling.
  12. Bet you all cant guess what GAwildKatt is getting for her birthday.
  13. Looking Sporty. Somewhere months back I saw an RSV the guy either mounted up a V-Max motor or took the faux fins off or something, but it looked like your motor. And the bike with the paint he had and all looked pretty dang nice. Clean with some blacked out stuff not all glitzy and chrome everything. Was sharp sort of like the CVO or Victory with the blacked out fins etc.
  14. I saw a little of it, I want to leave myself something "new" to watch during re-run season. But you are right, man some of the yards have stone walls probably 4 ft high and them guys are inches away at 100mph plus. I didnt catch the side hacks yet. them guys aint rite to start with.
  15. I can tell you that my small engines that dont get run for long periods of time (pressure washer and a portable generator) the carbs get some awful looking white crud in there. Almost looks like a calcium deposit.
  16. I dont know if there is a "written rule" on that. I would say whatever local currency is. Beats me, I just hope I dont get to pay, because I dont think I could get enough help here to rite this thing.
  17. We had a similar problem on a race car one time. Had el-cheapo type $10 gauge in there. Car owner got a "deal" on some Stewart Warner gauges from a sponsor, good deal rite? WE installed gauge pack and ran the car a couple weeks. Started one week noticing the temp was really getting high. We thought had a cooling problem, changed radiators (twice) Finally one day while sorting the worlds problems also with some cold beverages I said well heck lets check out the "old" gauge. Everything worked A OK. Turned out the capillary had gotten pinched when installing as someone ( I wont say who but they dont live with me) thought they had a better route to run the capillary. Just took awhile for it to get shorted or whatever happens to them. Unfortunately there is no way to fix them I know if.
  18. Can it be swapped with another relay on the bike to check it out? Maybe a relay installed for driving lights or something.
  19. The large wires you found on the left side were the positive to the starter solenoid. You may want to remove the gas tank and open the radiator cap (with bike cold) and see if there is water in the neck area. If by chance the cooling system pushed the water out there may be a void or bubble in the system and if memory serves rite it would have a hard time drawing coolant in.
  20. I have a piece of a 2x4 I put under the kick stand to "level" it out to check oil and gear oil.
  21. Hate to say but there aint a whole lot to go wrong I think with them. How much of a PIA to take it out. Or at least gain access to the bulb? Boil up some water in the house and place the bulb in it and see if gauge goes up. Only way I have ever "tested" them.
  22. I would start with easy cheap stuff. Ground connection at bike frame (actually one is top right by horn) Connection at starter solenoid behind left passenger floorboard. M61a1mech just had a RR go south on him but it was "stuck" open. Does sort of point that way though.
  23. What kind of bike. I'm sure the 1st gen and 2nd gen ignition systems are a bit different.
  24. I know the way I ride a lot of the time, them bad boys would be arched way back. If I was mouthing some up I would look at a different method.
