Just did one for a friend on his 07 the other day. The rear was so low that the fluid was barely over the hole to feed master.

Here is a thread for you to consider. I tried to list all the parts etc I used locally purchased at my Home Depot. Oh and by the way, while your in there might as well throw a fuel filter at it. But all these years later no idea where it is. I also had a pic of one of my other brothers when he was in the Navy about same time in the door of a rescue helo out on search drill when they were assigned to pick up Apollo missions.

Hmm Obviously they didnt consult with their aftermarket design folks. No way the "fancy" covers will fit with the new and improved filter. SO I guess that sort of forces you to a K&N. Or take the new design filter, cut the raised part off and glue a piece of plastic of some sort over the hole youll be making.

Good place to start. If battery voltage is real low bike dont like to stay running as they need like 11.8 or something to fire the ECM.

Usually once the bike is impounded, the insurance company pretty much owns it. So stripping anything off is slim. but I believe you are allowed to recover personal items. So if it had bags on it you could get whats in them and maybe get your GPS. Something like that. How bad off is the bike? would it be something you would want back on a salvage title for say $1500? sometimes they will give you first shot at buying your scoot back. but then you have something with a salvage title and no resale to be sure. Lots of decent bikes on the forum here, and you know most of them take care of the maintenance on them. Glad your OK.

Not mine. They are retiredgolfer's. I was just wondering why his OEM looking paper filters (on right) didn't have the raised top like the OEM out of my 09. Maybe a design change? I dunno I put K&N in mine a few thousand miles back. I found a really good deal on Amazon on my filters under $70. so buying OEMs didn't make sense @ $30 each.

Working on an 07 and pulled the air filters out. It has some fancy chrome covers on it. the filters are pretty bad so I was going to change them out. I had the filters out of my 09 which are decent as I switched to K&N on mine. I figured I save him a few bucks. Went to put my filters in and cover wont go on. My OEM filters have a raised center on them and his are flat. I checked the K&N and they are flat also. Whats the deal? My 09 is on left.

I think he said it wouldnt even turn over, so I doubt its fuel. sounds to familiar to what I have going on in the garage. Start with battery connections, power and ground. then your going to have to start to work your way thru the different switches etc in the system. Do you have a neutral light?

After I posted the pics I saw I may have boo boo'd. I think the blue one is a road star, the other is the early TD I believe with the 4 pipe exhaust. Ask around over on the Delphi forums here and see if someone can help ya out.

I rode mostly the 100cc job. I think that was the ace. the other one about killed me first time you twist it like the other bike.

LOL I rode a few Wombats for a dealer and also I think the ACE was the road version sort of. We took lights etc off and raced the Hondas and Yamahas of the day.

My experience is what ever size container you have, it seems to get filled up. I bet I could get half a ton of stuff in there.

With out a picture I have no idea thats positive. I can tell you the RSV has a couple of pins that hold the pads in. the pins look to have a bolt head, but it actually has a couple of "R" clips that hold those pins in. They can be almost invisible if you dont look close. They keep the pins from falling out, which in turn keeps the pads in the caliper. I would think the V-star would be similar.

Somewhere I saw a pair of rear floorboards that had about a 2" raise to them. I think on a RSV. but they were home made, he said it wasn't terribly difficult as the mounts on the RSV/TD are similar. He used a couple pieces of round tubing, and drilled like 1" square tubing so the round would go over it and welded it. then fit the floorboards to the square tubing.

Glad it wasnt any worse than it was. Unfortunatly we had a brother biker killed over in Sarasota last weekend. He was stopped at a light and a lady in a brown colored car hit him from behind. How they know that I dont know.

Gaucho I think I found them the other day while looking for something else. Where they run is around the back of the motor way under the fuel pump aea. But like Flyin said you need to find the regulator and test them there. I think its up under the bike somewhere. thats one thing I thankfully have not had to mess with on this bike.

the more I look at this thing, the forces of the mass and all something else popped into my head. there must be over 50 sq ft of area to get pushed around by wind, semis, cross winds etc. Youll not only be changing lanes without any warning you may be in a different county.

Hey guys I know its older thread and such. But when you get the new shock from Hagon or whom ever it it "preset" to install height? I have not tore into it yet, but is there even a spring on the RSV shock? Or is is air and oil only? The one I am changing is well looks like the Exon Valdez. So if its collapsed, I wouldn't want to take an install height off it you know?

Yep. Eddie (retiredgolfer) ordered one up today. Hey for grins, has anyone done a picture post of how to on this? Ok sort of found some pics and description. But does the new shock come preset at ride height? Or whats recommended on the spring perch

Where the big wires connect to the battery and the starter. Manual says to connect power to the top left (as your looking at mounted relay) and ground to the top right. then it energizes the relay. When first energized (closed) its reads OK. But as you leave it connected the OHM start to climb. I have not checked my functioning RSV yet. The relay also gets pretty warm as it stays engaged.

I know this is a rather old post, but........ I have an 07 I think it is retiredgolfers bike I'm doing some other work on. I had to get down but the starter relay and saw a puddle of oil Well not being a Harley I though thiis was odd. So I looked and this is what I saw. So from you experienced fellows is one any better than the other YSS Progressive Works or Hagon? I'm sort of leaning towards the Hagon, it seems price wise they are the least and nobody has had any issues with them going out that I have read. So what do you think? Bad shock? I have not done a bounce check, I have been working on other stuff.

More of the story. Took thumb switch apart and cleaned it up. Checks out fine. Probably started the bike a dozen times or at least hit the starter you know not make bike run just making sure starter hits. Then once nothing. AHH something I can work with. Key was on and dash lights, headlights etc all on. So I disconnected the battery and left the switch. Removed the tank and OHM out the ignition switch. All is good switch checks out per the manual. :confused24:So following the manual I got to the starter solenoid. I remove it and put power and ground where it says and it ohm out OK. That is as long as you dont leave it energized. If you leave it energized it gains resistance .3,.6 and so on, highest I saw was about 1.6-1.8 Also the relay get very warm if left energized, is this normal for this component? It has only not engaged the starter maybe 3 times out of 30. And on those if I hit the thumb button again it has engaged the starter. I sure hate to think about putting a $40-50 solenoid on it thinking that is. you know if it would just up and quit youd have some proof.
