Labell is down sort of towards Ft Myers but inland a tick. Look for state road 80 I think.

I think what you are talking about will let you look statewide vs just an area.

17k plus on a pair of MC 2. The 130 up front. I ran like 40 across the board press. -
Just read a post that said Mr Tilley that owns HD dealers in Staesville and somwhere else up in NC was killed on BRP in a single vehicle accident. Wonder if roads were a factor there.

Sometimes it amazing what you find. I have got some good buys. I bought a first gear roll aboard bag that attaches to the sissy bar that new was like 250. I gave about 50. Simular deal on a really nice cortech huge like e0 liter bag. 25 bucks. Its a good outlet for us "frugal" shoppers.

I think the spec on oil change for my 09 is 4k. Valves are a big job, but if your going to do it yourself you can save some coin. Skydoc I think has a kit to loan out if you get gaskets off him. Also flyinfool is making the special tool.

Glad I wasnt on the Gandy Bridge or the Skyway.

Tom, we are going up that way in Oct. Barry had a flat on way back from Bay Pines today on the back roads into Avon Park. About 30 or so miles from home. got it plugged so I could get home, but will need to investigate it more next week or something. going out of town for a couple days. I'm hoping I can patch it.

Well good thing we didnt plan this trip with the bike anyways. The tread close to top best I can discribe looks to have the cut. but once you get down to the carcass it must be less because I made a repair and got it home. Its going to sit right now and in a week or so I guess I will dismount it and check it out closer. If its no bigger than what I think it is in carcass I'll Probably patch it from the inside. If it looks to bu compromised I guess I'll be buying another new tire. I'm just glad its not $140 Michelin C2. By the way any ideas on how to get the balance beads out and save them? I thought maybe a rag over the vacuum hose and see if I can trap them.

Typical installation puts a glass fuse under the fairing by where the switch is located. Left side under fairing as your sitting on it. Chances are the fuse will look like this one. Which is why mine has a relay on it.

I had to go over to the VA in St Pete today for an appointment. Its about 85 miles one way. On the way back I took some of the back roads I ride from Brandon (I took the long way home) One one of the backroads 3 miles or so from home the bike felt squirmy. I know from past the road is a little uneven through there. but it seemed to continue to long. I stopped and looked at the front tire it was up. Looked at rear and it was low. Well I'll be @#$. Small shop a few yards away where they service sod equipment. I pulled in there and borrowed a small air comp and aired it up to roll it to find the leak. Appeared to be a cut about 3/4 maybe. Had plugs so I plugged it and called wife just so she could follow me home. Bums me out, the tire only has maybe 2kon it. Now I need to dismount and patch it. I think the plug has a small leak as the pressure was a little lower than when I filled it when I checked it prior to leaving the shop there. But all is good got home safe. Only to find a radiator hose leak on the wifes car pushing coolant when we got home. Supposed to leave in am for the Keys too.

Where to start passing lamps out
djh3 replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Most of the shop or dealer installed lights I have seen are all wired to only be able to be on with low beam. Why I have no idea. Mostly because they just tap power off the low beam headlight with a scotch lock (grrr) When you rewire it yourself and put a relay in draw power from a keyed on source they will run anytime you have your control switch on. -
Bring the page up you want to link IE: EBAY or whatever it is. Put your cursor up there and highlight it (right click) copy. then go back to your post your working on and highlight a word or two. Then at the top of the post box your working in you look for a globe with a chain. Click it and it should open a box and will start with HTTP. Paste your link in there and save.

OK I was trying to sort out which was what. Thanks. That fellow also has something called a pav2 or something. Looks like it might also work if it was wired to dc to charge instead of aa batteries. I think they go for around $30 on ebay.

OK so finally had a few minutes to look the Mix it thing up. WOWZER they are proud of that thing. I hate to guess what the guy get for the amplirider thing then. Guess I'll have to go back to the idea of building a battery eliminator for the boostaroo.

Where to start passing lamps out
djh3 replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I will take a shot. the factory type lights they simply put gillotin (scotch locks) on to make the connection to the headlight. Normally on low beam, so unless someone else wired it up the passing lights will work only on low beam. So you will have to follow the wires back to where it sources in, probably inside the headlight housing. Then check a ground while you in there. For simplicity sake make sure the bulbs are good. I would hate to see you jump thru all kinds of hoops only to have a bulb be bad. Toggle switch could be bad depending on quality, I have had a couple of the cheap type go bad inside. Really the lights need to be run thru a relay. -
Installed LEDs in Rear Reflectors

Good job Vitto. And no I haven found a mic for you yet. -
Barry and everwho (thats a word I picked up from my boss in NC) Maybe middle part of Sept. Brian I know that prob wont work for you. But maybe the weather will cool of a bit and the rain thing will be done with afternoon constant rains. Brian good luck with the back surgery. I can tell you from experience the doc aint going to let you ride for at least 4-6 weeks. I am fighting a back issue now myself and already had surgery on it in 09.

Yes bags have to come off. 4 bolts 2 towards the top front and rear and 2 in the bottom front and rearward center. I take all of them out except the front and save it for last so the bag does not get away from me and end up getting scratched. The rubber mount bushings will sometimes work their way out so make sure they are installed back in. On the mufflers a 10mm bolts up front and a hanger bolt under the bags. Take the hanger bolt out, loosen the front quite a bit.. Then I took the tail end of the muffler and gave it some side to side motion and once got some of that going then a little "round about" effort while pulling back.

Dave and Barbie---That looks interesting. I think I have seen that before. I may look one of those up and install on my AUX input under the fairing. It could be wired straight in and hidden. I know if I use my phone for music I have to turn it way way up almost full blast to get the volume to where its useable.

I have been looking to some different options. I just cant justify the over $150 or so for the LED bulbs (PAR 36 type) that go in there. I had bought a pair of adjuree housings that H# bulbs go in a few years back to get rid of the sealed beam jobs. they were better. I installed an HID headlight and man everything I thought was brite white now looks yellow. So I bought some cheap LED H3 bulbs. Not so good, look brite white but not alot of illumination. So now I have ordered some CREE LED bulbs to go in there. So I guess I will see how that goes.

My goodness how much stuff do you need to take? I manage to take enough for the wife and I or a week in the mountians plus chaps and warm jackets. So I dont know how much of what your trying to take. There are laundry facilities everywhere. Even if I travel solo a weeks worth is about all I pack.

A couple buddies and I made a trip up that way last year to Bowmanville Ca, by Toronto. We stayed by Williamsport PA. This is the route we took up.

My New Highway Light Alternative
djh3 replied to ENG2242's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Got me to thinking about adding some additional lights. Since I will not pay the $200 for the trucklite jobs it looks as though I may go with down on the forks by fender mout.
