If its not wraped in plastic, have a cramped seating uncomfortable seating position and clip on style bars Yamaha aint interested. Best looking bike they have made in 3 yr or so is that Bolt. I dont think they are interested in making a tour bike. Its kind of a limited market covered up by Honda and HD mainly. It wouldnt suprise me if Kawasaki phases out theirs.

I have watched it off and on. One season I watched quite a few. then it got into some crazy stuff and was hard to follow. And the characters seem to mumble thru lines and its kind of hard to hear. Also watched Devils ride for first season, then it all seemed to be about how bad one splinter group thought they were over the other. Until a "real" 1% group paid a visit.

I use the long phillips screw driver for adjusting carbs, and loosen the clamp at back connecting to tube. then it's 2 10mm bolts as mentioned. one you can go pretty straight inot get, the other I have to use a universal on. There is more screws holding the box's together than there is to get them off.

They all look the same to me. I like the street glide which I dont know really what the ig difference is between that and the Road Glide. Dont the road glide have a frame mounted vs bat wing type fairing? To me they have to many similar models. My buddy in NC has a softail, and one of my other friends over in Sarasota Fl has a Road King. Both have soft bags and a windshield. Whats the difference? I just gave up with all the sub models. They make about 3 full dress touring bikes that all look exactly the same but names and the alphabet is all screwy.

here is some pics of the problem I was talking of. After removing the plug I patched the tire and remounted and inflated. then you can see how long the cut is. 3/4" or longer and 1/8" wide. Which if it never went down I think the cut would have spread and ripped and degraded and could have been big trouble.

I have not shut the petcock off in over 6 months since I put it on. Only when I have pulled the fuel tank. After reading several posts and talking to some with this pump and the similar "aircraft" type with the check valve found that most run this pump now and none of us have had the problem of flooding the carbs. I can see if the vent was not working correctly it may pressurize the tank if it got hot and force fuel out, but no one I have talked to has had this issue.

I have not use d the ride on. But I do use the beads and had good performance. But I did pick up something in my almost new rear tire. I caught it before a crash but its junk. So I only wonder if I would have not know about the puncture what kind of trouble might I have been in say 1000 mile from now when the tear in the tire gave out.

New shock time. Anyone know the cost to rebuild?
djh3 replied to Broncoboy36081's topic in Watering Hole
Here is a pic of the type shock that goes in. Look on the bottom bart and see a black looking dot. thats where a allen thats included allows adjustment for dampening. http://www.davequinnmotorcycles.com/Ha%20Mono3_380w.jpg -
I have seen a "trans-Am" kitted camaro last year. Made me do a double take.

You would have to check with Hagon to see what a rebuild would run. the shock runs about $466 shipped. I just put one in for a guy. It is somewhat adjustable. You can adjust ride height if needed, but it comes preset. there is a bump adjustment on the bottom of the shock via allen wrench. Its not that hard once the shock is installed. If you find a new OEM type shock for $500 you'll be doing good. I will probably go with the Hagon once mine dies.

cooling system fluid maintenance
djh3 replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I changed mine when I did the valve adjustment this winter. You have to disconnect half the rad system to get to the stinking valve covers so somewhere when I was reading up on the job it suggested the change. I just used Autozone pre-mix and read the label. -
I will say I just skipped replacing the points and installed a new Mr Gasket pump. We all know the points on these things fail, and it seldom seems to be at a time when you can fix it easily. So I just cut to the chase and replaced the pump once and wont have to worry about one failing. Replacing the points certainly is a good option for those who want to go that route. At least that option is there, unlike the rear shock delma of only certain suppliers.

I have several gauges. LOL some dial some digital, even some of the pencil ones. My 3 digital ones are wit in about a 1/2lb of each other. The dial type one is a race gauge and for me the most accurate as has been set by a tire manufacturer although quite some time ago. If I can get it on the subject I will compare the digital to it. Surprisingly I have a small compact dial gauge I had to buy one time out of town and then thing reads almost exactly what the race gauge does around 30-40lb.

I replaced my 2nd gen pump with the Mr Gasket one. About $50 pump fittings and all. A first gen may be a bit different on fittings. but then you dont have to worry about points going out again.

Use the intercom. Or I wired up a splitter of sorts and wired in a 3.5mm ear bud jack. I wear the earbuds with my helmets and it helps clear up the intercom and the radio. If a person so wanted to ride with out a lid you could still plug in the earbuds and hear radio without so much volume it distorts.

my 96 rs rides to rough for my bad back
djh3 replied to worm's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Maybe try a back brace or kidney belt to help you sit straighter and some back support. Are you running any air pressure in the shock? Go with maybe a little less or close to minimums. short of that change the rear shock out to a Hagon, but I can tell you the one they make for the RSV I put in felt stiffer than my OEM. So I dont know what you can do. As was mentioned if you go soft you get ill handling effects of bobbing and in corners that bad. -
Well that sounds neat, I wounder if it bobbing around on the handlebars would set it off.

Mine depends on....... If I am using for music its in a RAM mount. If not sometimes in my holster with velcro flap, or could be in trunk. you know maybe I'll forward this thread over on the Delphi forums. A fellow was just asking about using the suction cup mount for his GPS to the speedo face on his TD.

I just went thru 3 weeks of having a bike here at my house that did the same thing. Bad part was it was very intermittent. I went up to his house and thought I had it fixed. 3 weeks later he calls and says it wont start. Then a day or so later he said it starts. Long story, he brought it down and I kept the bike for 3 weeks. I did everything from the very simple, remove ground wires and clean and battery connections to OHM out the clutch switch and starter relay etc. Start with the easy stuff. Clean both the battery connections at the battery and also the ground on the motor. Clean the connections on the starter relay and check the main fuse while your in that area.

I was rushing like mad to catch an airplane a couple years back in Atlanta airport. when I got to the jetway I reached down to call the wife and let her know I made the airplane. I did, but the phone not so much. I called airport, e-mailed lost and found all kinds off stuff. Pilot deadheading let me borrow his phone to call her I made it but phone didn't and to call cell provider and tell them it was MIA. GEZ if you need a smart phone to get you by and its Sprint I got one I'll pass on to ya.

One of their "rules" is you have to ride a liter or bigger american made bike. So that pretty well cuts down the options.

That would be my guess. however the high beam light at night bothers me more. Always has on vehicles.
