  1. No unfortunately there is not a whole lot of options as to the 4.5" passing lights. I think the Yamaha one and maybe roadkrome or somebody made one. but thats about it. So they are pricey at best. then the LED bulbs some are running from the Norther Tool are OK but not near the bulb of the $200+ truck lite jobs either. but do you really want to spend like $500 on the passing lights? Look around here, you may run across an option somebody has done you can live with. I like the bigger lights also. but there are some of the smaller like 2-3" jobs that you can get mounted up off the turn signals I think that are not bag looking.
  2. Whats their idea of "slight modification"??? I can tell you the back of it will have to be bent almost a 90 deg up to bolt to the triple tree. Now could a fellow maybe build a bolt on tab to do the trick? I dunno. Depends on how long the flat back bracket of the light bar is, will it interfere with anything. Will it simply have to be cut off? Can it be bent upwards to accomplish mounting? Unfortunately the answers you will get will be vague at best.
  3. Dont know about these starters in particular, but yes the armature can get "bad" spots. We use to take them apart, emory cloth them a little and maybe throw a set of brushes at it. GM starters use to run about $20 to do in the shop I worked at say 30yr ago. :shock3: WOW was it really that long ago???
  4. Mine will work its way out. Not all the time kind of depends on roads. I did just replace my power cord to the mini USB type from the Garmin flat long looking one for the traffic pick up. The contacts underneath for that thing seem to get corroded and don't always charge. And I never find out until I really need it.
  5. You did see you can order online right? JK Do you have a proposed route on say google maps? About what time frame?

    2015 Star

Yup When I saw that I thought now that there is funny.:rotf:
  7. I am sort of guessing here. Is this just the name of the particular kit you found? Anything different or special about this kit VS another bi-xenon kit? There are several threads about the HID headlights. Its pretty straight forward depending on which kit you get. Mine was plug and play for the most part. Harness for ballast to headlight and headlight plug to ballast with a relay. Stuff under the fairing easy.

Kind of like the highly over rated hype n wait on I phone huh?
  9. You talking about where the muffler meets the pipes?
  10. I have a board aprox 2" tall I put under the kick stand to stand the bike more upright for checking oil. I use this board and then slide the jack/adapter under mine.
  11. Flyinfool Simple fix for ignition switch load? Install a by pass relay. I dont know if I want to get back into pulling a trailer with the bike. Really dont take any trips all that long anymore that I need a week or more stuff. So I'm afraid it would have to be stored somewhere most of the time. But I like the small car top carrier type trailers. These jobs look to be the most cost effective way to haul "stuff" The camper ones are great, but way outa my $$. Besides indoor plumbing is kinda nice. The diamond plate is a nice addition. However to save weight I would look at using the aluminum stuff vs the steel.
  12. So did you scratch its belly while it was rolling over for you?

    Harley

Congrats. Now for the 2 questions that have to be asked. 1: Does this mean this is going to be your new primary ride and we wont be seeing you anymore? 2:Did they also hand you the 1099 to go with it for taxes? He Don maybe you found your grand prize you been looking for.
  14. I lived in the Southwest corner for almost 20yr. And I can guarantee down there the weather changes faster than the wife's mind in the spring. It will be 100 deg and the clouds start rollin and next thing you know sky is sort of green and temp drops 20 deg or so and it gets ugly fast. Most of the time down there in summer just hot like over 100 hot all summer. Fla has been hot this year and humid even here in center of state
  15. I put a Hagon on Retiredgolfers bike for him. I sure could tell the difference on his bike for sure. But even the difference between his and mine was noticeable.
  16. Check with one of your local "paintless dent repair" outfits. They can roll out some pretty ugly dents in cars I never thought would be right again.
  17. So Jason, One of the members I know here has asked me similar questions for him to get Aux input. I have a second gen so mine is easy. I have read a few posts on this. What about making essentially a extension cord and wiring in an Aux port on it. Would that work or would you not get the input thru the amp?
  18. Semi On your vest predickament. Find a bungee cord thats not to tight to wrap around your middle and put it over the vest. Should keep it from flapping as much. Or visit a local seamstress and see if they can split up sides and put a couple eyelets in it to adjust. May have to fold over or something to get small enough. But how come you bought the king kong size? Is there only one store in town that sells them? I got mine a nice BILT from Cycle Gear on sale for around $20. Heres one from Jafrum for under $30
  19. Its coming my friend. I bet its hard to find an umbrella out there huh?
  20. Puc, my guess is thats a 750 Honda, circa 1973 ish
  21. Man I dont know about them things. I'm afraid I would have so much stuff in there it would be poppin wheelies.
  22. I thought I had read somewhere Arlen Ness had something to do with the building of the bikes for that movie.
  23. Mike Road Runner is the only magazine I have kept a subscription to for over like 5 yr. Good articles, loads of different trips maps etc. for $30 a year I enjoy it. Watch for specials and you can get it a bit cheaper and I think they give us a discount anyways. Sure helps the winter months go by easier.
  24. Yup I seen it. But it was privately built. Probably used a HD for the same reason most short track race cars are Chevy. Lots of them around cheap. And that thing was down right scary looking. Kind of like a piece of plywood with a chair and steering wheel on it if I remember right.
  25. I guess its silicon. Anyways the stuff is sort of gel like and is for O rings. Got some for the pool strainer lids and such.
