I made a harness that plugs into the comm under the fairing. I soldered in a cable with a 3.5mm headphone jack and ran it back along the OEM cable. I run ear buds with my headset all the time now. I hear music better, the voice comm is clearer and road noise is way down. I have seen several videos on you Tube on clipping out the J&M type speakers and soldering in regular headset speakers. sometimes they have to dremel the things apart, but usually if you use the thinner ones they will fit. And better quality speakers to boot.

Try some mink oil. Being an ex-GI I pretty much have always had leather boots. I worked outside in elements all the time and very seldom did my socks get wet. All because of good leather care. Mink oil will keep them supple and waterproof. Should get into the grain and eliminate the whitish color.

In your case I would recommend taking a look at the points in the pump. At that age I would think they are not too burned up and a few swipes with a small file or some sand paper may fix it. Don I would like to also be added. I have the By-pass relays for the 2nd gen. I have an ad listed somewhere in the for sale stuff. But as I found out on the first one when a person bought it, the ad went away. Hmm OK just looked, I did have a listing in 2nd gen parts but its not there anymore.

Yea the whole "alarm" thing threw me off. On a Delphi board for the RSV w had a fellow with a trike conversion. He was having issues with some stuff and the same suggestion came back basicly. Go to the point of modification, remove it and put back to OEM. then troubleshoot the writing of the ad on. It could be the "brain box" for that took a crap. I would hope that what ever alarm stuff was added it was with plug in type connectors.

I went on a Victory test rid day last week. The shifter was one of the first things I botched up. I was accelerating up out of a corner and put my heel down and... nothing. OOPS Yea I would really miss my heel/toe, I'm spoiled now.

In the Tampa Bay area here we have had a rash of "wrong way" drivers. Mostly on the Expressways, but yesterday one on US19 a multi lane highway. 9 times out of 10 they are blitzed. but still they have killed like 6 or 8 people since the first of the year with this stupidity. HOW can you not know your going the wrong way on a one way road?
