  1. steve, yours comes up as a bad link. For me not much longer to to just use OEM hardware. b the time I clear all the stuff out of the left saddle bag I carry normally, 4 screws ain't that big of deal. Rain suits, tire repair kit, bungee cords OH and the ever popular CD player.
  2. Nope, n the phone it showed up RED. Today on desk top is OK.
  3. In your case I would recommend taking a look at the points in the pump. At that age I would think they are not too burned up and a few swipes with a small file or some sand paper may fix it. Well until the next time. I put together a "how to" on the conversion to the solid state Mr Gasket pump complete with what parts are needed. Its in the 2nd gen tech section.
  4. Yup Thats the way it looks on my phone anyways. Have not looked on desk top lately.
  5. Dont know how the Coke now is, but back when I was a kid in the 70's it was used for all kinds of stuff like that. Corroded battery cables, pour some Coke on it. Grungy film on windshield you cant get off (salt spray) coke. then you stop to think what is this stuff doing to my stomach???
  6. Yea I am anxious to hear also. He bought one of my by-pass relays to put on it and we chatted awhile on the phone throwing ideas around. Wonder if its fixed.
  7. Don I would like to also be added. I have the By-pass relays for the 2nd gen. I have an ad listed somewhere in the for sale stuff. But as I found out on the first one when a person bought it, the ad went away. Hmm OK just looked, I did have a listing in 2nd gen parts but its not there anymore.
  8. Yea the whole "alarm" thing threw me off. On a Delphi board for the RSV w had a fellow with a trike conversion. He was having issues with some stuff and the same suggestion came back basicly. Go to the point of modification, remove it and put back to OEM. then troubleshoot the writing of the ad on. It could be the "brain box" for that took a crap. I would hope that what ever alarm stuff was added it was with plug in type connectors.
  9. I went on a Victory test rid day last week. The shifter was one of the first things I botched up. I was accelerating up out of a corner and put my heel down and... nothing. OOPS Yea I would really miss my heel/toe, I'm spoiled now.
  10. Nice pic of your dog at the beach. That is the beach rite?
  11. In the Tampa Bay area here we have had a rash of "wrong way" drivers. Mostly on the Expressways, but yesterday one on US19 a multi lane highway. 9 times out of 10 they are blitzed. but still they have killed like 6 or 8 people since the first of the year with this stupidity. HOW can you not know your going the wrong way on a one way road?

The plug for the "Aux" under the seat has a blank in it. I dont have a clue why. Steve (M61amech) may make a plug that goes right in there. I actually had a old harness off something laying around and pulled it apart and used a pin out of it. If Steve cant hook you up let me know, I think I have a connector I can send ya.
  16. Couple weeks ago when it first started dropping we saw 2.68 in SC, between Sapphire Valley NC and Savannah Ga and then home to Fla. We are 2.86 gal today here in Sebring.
  17. I have been using some thing made by Turtle Wax for the plastic bits. Kind of like an Armour All but in gel form. Other option is this spray paint type stuff called Plasti Dip. its paint but has the texture of rubber with a slight gloss. My gas cap was giving me the blinding eye treatment. My son had some of the black plasti dip around so we tried it. Best part is if you dont like it, let it cure up a day and you can peel it off like an orange.
  18. Thanks for the help making this site go forward.

    Shifter Bolt

If your worried about the head size, measure up what you need to cover the shifter. If its real close to what the side cover head is and you think you need more surface area, just dont cut the bolt off as short and add a SS washer. Thin one like an AN if you find it.

Far as I know the aux power out let was on them from 99 on. I know where it is and half the time if I dont have the double outlet plugged in I cant find it. Its on the left of the faring as sitting on bike, just under the "roll" where the speaker is. You almost have to get off the bike and look with a flashlight.
  21. I went back to blue. Because then I knew I was on the right site. Change is hard on us old guys. Still trying to figure out what is still here, where its at and how to make it work.
  22. They are just a sticker. So you could use some mylar. I have a piece of carbon fiber look stuff I got off e-bay. You cut it close to shape, put it on and then I take a razor blade and finished up the trim. The custom inserts are nice.
