  1. Yea, truth be told most longer trips I got the phone tuned up to Pandora anyways.
  2. Guess it depends on what your in to. I have only been there for work. (out at race track) So we have stayed over at Orleans a couple of years. Nice place, but kind of out of the way if you want to jump casino to casino. Same with the South Point, very good accommodations, but off the beaten path. Long ways for us to the track. Then a couple years we stayed at NY NY. Food pricey, not all that great and nothing in medium range. Seemed like everything was $20 or more, even a sandwich. but close to other things MGM and walking distance to most Caesars etc. Last year we stayed at Nugget. I liked it because we had a chose of food options from the hotel restaurants, Denny's down the covered street, Tony Romas. Music at night and things going on. I dont gamble much, heck I ride a motorcycle. Need I gamble anymore?
  3. Yup pretty much a standard clearance light. check R&P carriages out. they are an e-bay seller and I have got some nice LED clearence lights in LED format from them MADE I USA.
  4. I am not familiar with what you are working with. but I mounted one of these up on my Kawasaki 900 with a reckless fairing. They are about the size of a credit card (face size) and maybe 1" deep. Some kits if you look come with speakers, although the ones that came with mine were pretty tinny sounding. I used ear buds most of the time. I did mount up some 4" sony speakers in my fairing as I ha room. If you look in the "motorcycle radio" or similar area on e-bay there is all kinds of stuff available.. I had a 200w amp also I put on mine and could plug in SD cards and it helped power the bigger speakers. that might be the one draw back on this little radio is it wont power like 6x9' or something like that. Different unit, has alarm and SD card slots. then there is this unit. An AMP with FM capabilities. The amp is very sisimilaro what I had.
  5. Dear djh3_88, This bulb has 1,000 Lumen output. Thanks - jtechnowcom
  6. Around here Wally World has best price on it. Gallon of the 10w40 dino rotella goes for about $20 and the T6 Syn stuff is $23. I like the Mobil 1 Syn motorcycle oil also, but it is $10 a Qt
  7. I am guessing the 4" is the diameter of the muffler. a Standard FLH type muff is right at 4". I just measured mine, so not sure what the guy is selling. Unless its the ones that look like cannons. But over all I would say if they came off the FLH model bikes yea should work. You Want to stay away from the OEM pipes from the 08-10 pipes as they had cat converters in them along those years.
  8. I bought some "cut to fit" LED lights off ebay. Like a 3 ft strip I think. If you can solder you can make the cut to fit stuff work. I mounted some on plumbing strap up under the bags. W strips under each bag. One is a running light and one is turn signal. I had about 16 inch left and mounted it under the tank. I do wish they were a bit brighter. The pod style led seem to work better for this as they are brighter I think.
  9. I have a 96 Cummins. I got turned on to Rotella back in 09 or so when I still had my VTwin kawi 900. I ran mobil1 20w50 in summer and rotella t6 syn in winter. I usually run the dino rotella in the pick up. But have run it in bike too. I would agree probably one of the best all around oils on market. But with that being said the new cars some take like 0w20 for emissions and milage. Now would the 15w40 hurt a new engine? I dunno I wouldnt think so.
  10. I bought a pair of lights with housings that went to a HD touring bike. they have an H3 35w halogen bulb originally. Once the HID went in they looked really yellow. I looked for a long time for options that were in my budget. the $200+ for the trucklites just were not going to happen. I looked into the "work lights" from northern tool, if you catch them rite they run about $30 each. So my housing has a replaceable bulb like I mentioned. SO I went shopping for H# LED bulbs. With the new style CREE bulbs you can get some decent output. I went with some like these and they work quite well. H3 Type 70W High Power SMD LED Fog/DRL Bulb Xenon White Light
  11. I suppose now he will be building Goldwing stuff though.
  12. Perfectly fine down here in Fla. Went for a 200 mile ride Thur. It was about 62 when I left the house and stayed in the low 70's all day.
  13. Interesting info. I have thought from time to time about a camera for the bike on trips. But the wife seems happy so ar using her phone and the little cannon digital we have. Heck I dont even know what model. Mostly stills though she will shot video shorts.
  14. I have "hacked" repairs for years. Some because I had to and some because at the time I didnt know any better. LOL The crimping is not an art, but it is definitely a learned skill. I just bought a new "automatic" stripper as I am requiring one more and it speeds my process up a little. for the average fellow the plier things that come in a basic butt connector, wire end kit will serve well for years. Mine has. A simple crimper like this will work for years. You can find them with a larger assortment of crimps I think at auto parts store or harbor freight if you go there.
  15. Yup I dislike the bullet type unless thats the OEM type like on signals etc. I just will simply not use the guillotine scotch lock type. Sometimes its all you can use, but sooner or later they will come back to haunt you.
  16. OK I have went into the settings and found the place at very bottom of page when it asks about Exclude forums from "What's New" highlighted the "links to craigslist/ebay" but still when I come back and select the whats new button a ton of the threads are this craigslist garbage. HOW do I eliminate this. I had almost an entire page of this.
  17. Must be takin a nap. Its laying down in most pictures.
  18. Thanks. Takes awhile to fine tune this new site to my liking. WOW after fixing this in my profile I went looking at new posts. NOW I see what your talking about. OMG it looks like someone copied the want ads from the Detroit free press or something. there mus be 50 entries for stuff for sale. Surely one fellow dont have all that crap for sale.
  19. Someone is pulling your leg on the "illeagle" thing. Now the store policey may be a different thing. A year or so ago I found replacement tires for my 3/4 ton truck at Wally World. Thought it was good price about $100 ea. But alas once the fellow saw what they were going on they became $135 or something a piece. Because they would not mount a "p" metric tire on an "lt" rated vehicle. I understand the gvw rating on tire is more for the 3/4 ton tire, but I dont haul anything except me. But its the liability thing. So when I needed a pair of tires for the front this summer, I just went in picked them out and carried them out the door. Mounted them up myself and poured in dyna beads. You may check out one of yout used tire shops if you have any, they may mount them up for you.
  20. Sounds like a belt separation. More you ride, the more the pressure builds. Then it spreads the plys.

    Scratches

I have one in a saddle bag. My bags a red and black and the scratch shows up as white sort of. i figure that scratch is down to the base or primer or something. I have thought about maybe just using a sharpie to try t cover it up, but what if the color is to far off? So I have just left it alone. Your looks as though maybe you could try some of the color scratch remover stuff.
  22. Have to plug Steves kit. He can also custom make one I think with run/brake and turn if I remeber rite.
  23. Long as it stays pointed north.
  24. I have worked at my current job with a couple of retire Navy carrier men. some of the stories I don't know if I should believe them or not. But I am sure some of the USAF stories I exchanged with them they think the same thing. LOL My AF carrier is a big part of my life and morals etc. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Thanks guys one and all for your service. I know some of you all served like me long before the current gratification our soldiers, sailors and airmen get now.

    Close Call

I was pretty upset once I got the tire dismounted. I originally thought I would just plug it and press on, take my trip etc. But I knew I was going to have the wife and extra gear etc on our 1500+ mile trip so, whats a couple hours of pulling the tire and putting a proper patch on it. Right? So the first pic you can sort of see its about maybe an 1/8 wide. Look closely it almost blends in with tread pattern. Second pic is to show how long it was. and the position. Thus why I elected to change the tire. I figured under acceleration etc it would just pull the tire apart. 3rd pic is the 17.5k Michelin Commander 2 Still tread left but I thought I should put new shoes on it before a long trip.
