  1. I tried to send yu a PM, but it says I am at my limit. SO need to ask the boss here whats going on. Anyways here is a thread.
  2. What happens is the clearance gets closer (tight) The spring on the valve is trying to pull the valve further into the head, thus closing the gap. So then you need a thinner shim. Now if you need some 288 shims let me know, I seem to have an over abundance of them.
  3. This is the one I have. Its from Sears, but I certainly did not pay $200 for it. I think closer to $125. I like that the front wheels are out side the frame and give a bit more stability in my mind.
  4. I bet you will like it. We love ours.
  5. I also use open office. Good program. As for the infection try malware bytes. Its free and gets rid of alot of pesky stuff.
  6. Dont they have to rehardened after grinding them down?
  7. I didnt even do that when I did the valves and changed fluid on mine. I drained what I could and flushed it with clear water and I think it was vinegar solution. then clear water and drained refill with coolant.
  8. Something to remember on those numbers. It is total motorcycles sold. So all those 50 and 70cc bikes you saw for decades in Vietnam, Thailand and third world countries were mainly Honda. But still that is a ton of work for people in that country. I remember when I would go to the PI when that base was still ours, you got to the main gate and could get a bike with a side car to take you just about anywhere in town. And there were hundreds of them.
  9. MiCarl, kind of better explanation of my suggestion I think. Thats why I attached my work sheet. It has a couple blanks. I use one for the shim thats in it and the other for my measurement. So if say there is a .300 in there and its tight you know where you can get one from should you have say a .310 somewhere that needs to be replaced. In my searching E-bay for shims, most of the time I have found them cheaper if you look for say 25mm valve shim or the other bikes it will fit. Honda CB750, CB750C, CB750F, CB750K, CB750SC dohc (79-83) CB900C, CB900F, CB1000C, CB1100F, CBX (all) Triumph Hinckly triples and fours Speed Triple, Tiger, Daytona, Trophy, Sprint * All watercooled three and four cyl. models* Yamaha SRX250T (87) SRX250TC (87), XT250L & XT250LC Dual (84) TT350, XT350 (86-00) XJ600 Seca II (92-98) XVZ12 XVZ13 Venture Royale Royal Star (83-93) XVZ1200, XVZ12 VMX1200 V-Max (85-02) Vmax, VMX12 FJ1100, FJ1200 (84-93)
  10. Should be. All you are doing is changing the size of the bore. I think on another forum I am on has a motor for sale. Dont recall if its a 1200 or 1300.
  11. I would say some spacers for the leaky plugs behind the faux fins. but you probably can make them for .10 a piece.
  12. I use a sheet I put together, to refer to so I knew which shim was in what hole. Valve check settings work sheet.xls
  13. Here is an idea. You are going to do both bikes. Check both, and like suggested measure twice. In order to know what shims to oder is out of tolerance, you need to know what it currently has in it. I will almost bet if you keep a sheet of what is in where, measure then you know what you need. You can probably move shims around between bikes and have one up and running and the order parts and fix the other. I have a bag full of shims and probably 10 or more are so big you would never use them unless the head had just been redone.
  14. Thats exactly what its worth. lol But sure is nice to have the air adjust at times. If Im paying for one Im going Hagon.
  15. 6000k is about the color that most get. It is a brite white with just a tinge of blue to it. 8000k is the blueish ones you see in the tuner cars. Not really as good in dark. Yes the light pattern is a bit off but it is a vast improvement over the OEM type bulb. Mine came off e-bay and was about $35 Im happy with it. 3yr plus. Your going to get a dud once in awhile.
  16. anything can fly given enough airspeed.
  17. Why with a bracket silly. Actually I have a couple sets of these I think in the garage somewhere. They are like 2.5" dia. Not very good sounding, but there are some bigger ones that are not bad sounding. Trouble is the bigger the speaker the more power you need to push sound. So you get much bigger and your MP3 player wont push them without a amp.
  18. LOL too funny. It just amazes me the amount of work some people go thru to cause someone else heart ache. These creeps come up with virus to lock up your computer unless you pay a ransome, web sites download crap you dont know about and then are willing to sell you a "fix" for the trouble they installed.
  19. 10-4 on the Vison demonstration. Amzing a smaller person can up right it. A couple years ago a gal all of maybe 140 and 5'2 or so righted on at the demo ride. Im not so sure I could rite my RSV by myself.
  20. Just like AC leak detect. Only for engine oil. http://www.carquest.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_TRACER+All-N-One+Oil+-+Multipurpose+Dye+-+Pinpoints+Leaks+in+Engine+Oil%2C+Transmission%2C+Fuel+Systems%2C+1+oz+bottle%2C+sold+by+each__10151_-1_10651_1441038_36570?acesApp=0
  21. Perhaps this is the joint. http://www.ledsbylightoneup.com/
  22. You might try going by Autozone. They have radiator pressure testers you can test caps and cooling systems. Several adapters in the little kit, hopefully one will fit. I am afraid though it looks as though its sprung a leak. I think the piece you are pointing to is a mount. Unfortunately the ra is probably plastic tank and metal core and its just clamped together, so no viable repair. Jb weld might get you home, but I dont think I would want to call it a permanent fix. Does it leak static, with bike just sitting still in garage? Or does it have to warm up and then leak?
  23. OK Price CK on motor oil isle!! Pegasus, you are correct. Dino Rotella is in the $13 range while T6 Syn is $22
  24. I saw an article on YAHOO news yesterday about a computer virus. So wanting to be up on possible problems I started to read up on it. Well it seems that somehow the Chinese maker of some sort of vapor smoker E-cig has figured out how to hack up your computer or electronic devices by the E-cig using your USB port. Now ain't that a kick. I personally have no worries, but I figure there may be some folks on here trying to kick the tobacco habit with these devices.
  25. I have a BGE (Big Green Egg) Its a ceramic cooker/smoker shaped like an egg. Expensive beggar but man does it do some killer ribs and pulled pork. I cook probably 5 times a week on it, grilled chicken, pork chops, burgers and it smoke great too. So our family has decided to meet at a camp ground about 85 miles from my house. WE rented a cabin they have my BIL has a camper he is bringing etc. So part of our dilemma is how we going to have turkey. He usually smokes up a bird and we eat at their place. Wed is the meeting date and he wont get in until 6 pm or so and dont have time to smoke the bird before time. SO I offered up to do it. I elected to get a breast, and thighs and legs separate. I put them all in a pan and injected it with some herb and garlic marinade and same dry spices on the outside. Well it just came off the smoker about 530pm. MMMM does it smell good. Pinched a piece and its purty tasty too. Now Thursday will just have to pop in an oven at cabin for an hour or so I guess to warm it up.
