  1. You know its kind of funny. When looking for a replacement for my 900 vulcan I had 3 things that were on the pretty important list. Hard bags and trunk, electronic cruise and self canceling signals. Dunno why I think they are all that important. But I know more than a few times I caught myself with a blinker going for what must have been quite sometime after a turn. Dont know which relay is in what. Just though maybe over all instructions would give someone an idea of how they could fix theirs. I have thought about the pull apart solder version a few times. But I think I would like a "back up" incase things go bad.
  2. Fingernail polish to my knowledge is Lacquer. they do make body filler now that has "flexible" properties. I dont think you want to try to patch a fairing that has a big crack in back together, but some imperfections it should be fine.
  3. Shooot I thought it was one of them Can Am things converted.
  4. I have seen them all over. They run them in Savannah GA, Key West, Charleston too I think. Not sure, but I pay to pedal someone else around town. Pay money for drinks at full rate, and they make fun of me while doing it. Hmmm
  5. Jeff this is for you. Here is the actual write up I was looking for. I think maybe this is the same flasher used on the self cancel bikes. Pretty sure the second gens anyways. But it may help you all out also.
  6. They use some kind of crazy formula also. Once you get to some kind of weird percentage of bike value (I think its 62%) they total it out. Some companies let you remove "personal" items, some dont. I have to imagine the bike is at a wrecker yard or something right?, not your backyard.
  7. I have thought about if say it was the front fairing and was all nicked up, maybe a wrap?
  8. So its a whatcha-ma-cycle? I dont see any a/c vents for the compressor up front of the drive belt, so you figure he is using that as the hydro pump?
  9. Would be more fun if he hung onto the plug and the crankcase while he spun it over. Rellay sorry didnt see the part about turns over. This would not be the first bike in the last oh 4 months or so I have heard of ran fine and a fellow worked on it and then would not start. The last ended up troubleshooting like almost a month to figure out it was the electronic box that the sidestand switch feeds into and a coil pac died simultaneously.

I have bought a couple from here. YTX20L-BS Battery
  11. This may seem a little to simple. I will tell you I did not read the entire post. BUT I did similar thing last year. Was working under the fairing on my 2nd gen. Got dont no start. After about an hour looking around, chasing wires etc looking for all this strange stuff that could have went south. The kill switch had got bumped.
  12. Yup. Just after thanksgiving. Not my deal I could care less. My job is dig all that junk out, then put away boxs, then in Jan dig boxs all back out then put away again. Reminds me of basic training in USAF. Pick up bags, put them down, pick them up, put them down. 3-4 days of movin all this crap. Grrrrr sorry I just think its a waste of time I guess.
  13. If you go to the HF site and just sort of look at the design of the 2 jacks that have been mentioned, you will see the alum one has a wider foot print so to speak. My ccraftsman
  14. Nuff said in my book.
  15. If you get to adding many accesories like lights. You may want to add the ignition by-pass relay to help the load on the ignition switch.
  16. 4: Don't ride behind the bikes with the drag pipes. Loud pipes don't necessarily save lives, but they sure give you a headache
  17. Puc, look @ a Vaquero. It is pretty much what you said, no trunk, single seat etc. I am a member on the Kawasaki board ther since 07 when I bought my 900 vulcan. I bet I have read over 100 posts on the heat issue of the Voyager. I think anything 2012 up has the heat divirter system built into it and they did do some recall repairs on the 10-11 bikes. Just have to kind of know what to look for on the older models. Look around the Kawi site there and see what guys think about the repair.
  18. There is just way way to many openings for sly n funny comments here. I'll check back later, because I just know ole Puc is thinkin sumtin up.
  19. Depends Hot days with some good Mexican chips and salsa a cool magereta is mine.
  20. I like the Sears alum atv jack. When you look at them I like the ones the front pair of wheels are outside the framework. I think makes it a little more stable. I think list was 129 or so an I paid under 100. We ha d a couple of the "cheap" table type jacks at work. They lasted about 3 days and the jacks were done. No kits to fix either. So sometimes cheaper is not allways a deal. Check craigs list local to you and see what might be available.
  21. Puc Im with you. I have over the last couple years adjusted my under riding garments to those longer legged weather wicker jobs. Dry is good, also in the off chance I get wet they dry out quicker than cotton. I have seen the beaded seat things and dont see how they are comfy for long either. To me would be like sittin on marbles.
  22. As mentioned you need some way to lower the truck to make it easier to load. However the load is going to high. Trailers typicaly are lower to ground. It would also be less likely to tip over and be easier to unload out of a trailer.
  23. Yup the beads work good for me. I have used them on the last 4 sets on the bike. Have them in the rears on the 3/4 ton PU now also. sometimes those inside beads are so sharp (squared off) they wont slip over at all. they should have like a rounded edge leading to the inside of the tire, but sometimes its dang near square. and that dont glide over nuttin.
  24. Back in Jan when I had to rebuild my desktop, I had all kinds of problems with IE. First I installed whatever was on disc for win 7. Then of course you have to update like 5 versions IE 9, 10 and beyond. Well once I got to 10 and up I think it was IE would either crash, not work with some sites or just plain lock up. I have been using chrome pretty much since Feb or March.
  25. The Voyager was on my rader pretty hard before I got the RSV. I didnt get to ride one, but talked to dozens of guys that had them. One of the largest complaints was heat off the motor. One fellow said his wife wouldnt even ride anymore as it burned her right foot. I have a pair of RK muffs on mine now, but for long trips I dont like all the racket and put the OEM's back on.
