  1. ONCE I changed a clutch on a Ford I had. Disc was only thing bad so thats what I changed. Month or so later the $5 throwout bearing started to squall. Thats the last time I did that job twice.
  2. We have 1 pair of tourmaster and 1 nelson rigg. One of them (I forget which) has a mesh inner sort of liner theng in jacket so if its warmer out dont stick to you. Here in Fla in summer its a crap shoot at best when its going to rain. You just know its going to. Whats hard to judge for me is if its a quick shower brewing you can ride thru or if its worth stopping and putting gear on.
  3. They sort of start in different areas at different times. Say start lower part of state and hatch or whatever working way north and across state. Some years worse than others. Only natural enemy is cars and semi.
  4. Only problem I can think of is maybe a deal if someone gets the info from here, then looks you up to do harm. It sucks but folks are out there like that. Maybe a way to anotate it and a fellow could set it all up prior to traveling.
  5. Bluesky: thats kind of why I am looking at ones that the storage area is somewhat seperated from sleep/common area. Atleast that one the "main" bedroom is up front and secondary is rearward and could be aired out. I dont think if you didnt have something stored for a couple weeks or something like that it wouldnt be to smelly. For me I think it would only have the bike in there a day or 2.
  6. Thanks Eddie. I will check in wirh ya.
  7. OK I had to look it up. Bike week is March 6th ---15th We will have to see. If I can get someone to ride up with me I will go. I think the boss is going to be busy about that time of year.
  8. Donvitto was over there somewhere. We were going to come, but the wife it turned out had a function she had to go to on Sunday. I was a little under the weather and didnt want to ride the 180 miles round trip feeling like I did. Its usually a nice calm event. Was really busy last year when we were there.
  9. Found this one sort of local. (85 miles) Dont see many like it.
  10. Market is still soft here in Highlands county. They say its back on the rise, but you couldnt prove it by me.
  11. Yes Much brighter. I have mine as a spare to the HID. There are times I think I like it better than the HID.
  12. Midrsv, that sort of looks like the outback brand we have been liking lately.
  13. I have run the Wagner BP1210 With that being said it is more draw on charging system. But at bottom of page it shows a HELLA that is 55w low beam and the 100w high. That might be an option for you. I get an HID off e-bay for around $40. EZ plug and play with a relay and everything. About 20 min or so to install depending on if you can get your mitts in there to change the bulb anyways.
  14. After I posted last night I thought about the tire thing also. Them bad boys are high dollar and you probably dont want to run recaps either. I dont know how they tolerate sitting for long periods of time, like months without rotating. I know down here with a lot of "part time" residents they always cover the tires up to keep the sun off them. The good thing is you probably will be able to buy your oil in bulk for the bike now. Rotella T6 LOL
  15. We usually pencil it in. As of now I say yes, but kind of wait and see.
  16. We have been "toying" with thoughts of an rv. Looking in the direction of a toy hauler. Couple reasons, less maintenance, tags are cheaper an insurance for sure. Dont need to insure a vehicle I only need to drive 3 weeks a year. Have been looking at "outback" is the name of the trailers. Because they are not the standard rear cargo area. But you would still need a good tru k tp pull it with. We have been to an rv show or 2 and from what I have seen on the class a and c also even trailers. If a slide is available get it. It just makes such a difference in what it feels like inside. When its crappy outside and you got to be inside I think you'll appreaciate it.
  17. Should be marked on disc what min thickness is. If its warped you can have it turned down as long as it is not below min thickness.
  18. No problem. I guess they had better electrical engeners for the 1st gen. Have not heard of a 1st gen burning up a switch.
  19. With a volt meter check and see what you have at socket. Then maybe try jumper wires to your bulbs. As was mentioned maybe a contact problem. Regular bulbs are working, I know some of the LED I have got have smaller contacts.
  20. Thanks for the plug Eck. But the by-pas is for 2nd gen. Maybe a fuel pump issue.
  21. What about ground. what if the resistor was in ground circuit? I dunno as I have not used these.
  22. Well sorry to hear about the job. But it sounds as though you are taking it in stride. Mine was up Dec 31st on a company "reorganization". So have not decided what I'm going to do as of yet. Heavens knows my military retirement wont keep me afloat.
  23. Here is a 05 with 65K on it for $5200 and extras. LOL but I guess you can ask all you want. If you get someone to buy I guess you win. To me dealers are normally high asking price. they have expenses to cover. Only advantage to dealing with them is inventory and you trade in something and not have to worry about selling it and sitting on it.
  24. I was iin Cycle Gear yesterday. The fellow showed me a new design battery. I guess its lithium, but a battery for our bike weighed about 2lb. I was amazed, of course I think theprice was up there too.
  25. If you look at the majority of the Harley dealers they do not sell OTH (other than harley) I would have to say the last time I was in a couple nuttin but Harleys. They just dont keep anything else even used bikes.
